You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.
Alfred Mikhailov was a prominent playwright and author and enjoyed the high life with his wife, Vivian, who enjoyed the fame, the money, the popularity. During one of his shows in Quebec, he was introduced to a man. Charmed, he agreed to go out for a drink with him, thinking it was harmless but as the night progressed, one thing lead to another but by the morning, Alfred woke up alone. Five months later, Juliette was found at his door stop with a note writing that the child was Alfred's. With Vivian being infertile, they decided to take her in with Alfred claiming that he found her abandoned. However, neither parent was willing to compromise their lifestyle to raise a child and so they hired a nanny, Holly, to take care of her.
Juliette was raised completely by Holly, who was a daughter of Hermes, watching her parents leave to travel frequently. Holly, a skilled fighter, killed every monster who came near, not realising that Etta was a demigod as well. Etta loved her parents, though, especially her father. Her parents did spoil the child, bringing home extravagant presents every time. It was only until her father fainted out of exhaustion did he take half a year off from his career to focus on relaxing. During this time, he began to spend more time with Etta. During a walk in a nearby park, Alfred had found her following him. Instead of sending her back, he let her walk with him. They began to bond and soon Etta gave Alfred inspiration for a children's book. Soon, he spent all his time with her, using her child as a search engine, asking questions where needed. Etta, though, was overjoyed, not realising, due to being four years old, what her father's motivation for the attention was.
Eventually, Alfred got the book published and it was an instant hit, becoming one of the most beloved children's books. As she was directly was placed into the book, she became a sort of child celebrity, getting piles of fan mail, paraded in front of cameras and frequently interviewed. However, she was protected by living in the country when she wasn't brought to the cities. Her parents, however, began to travel more and more, living on the high of the books, neither realising the negative effect it was having on their daughter.
Wanting nothing but her parent's attention and love, Etta was confused on the attention given to her, not understanding why the book was so popular or why everyone seemed to know her. She frequently became upset and would hide away in her room. However, Holly saw the effect and began to try and make it better. She introduced her to art and sketching, giving her an escape. She loved Holly and would often show signs of separation anxiety if she wasn't close at hand.
When Etta was ten, Holly eventually broached the subject with her parents. Though Vivian was non-plussed, Alfred began to become concerned, not realising the frantic schedule of his child. However, he was no match for his dominating wife. Not liking Holly impeding on how her child should be raised, she fired Holly, much to both Holly's and Alfred's dismay. Being banned from seeing Etta distressed them both and eventually resulted in Holly killing herself, feeling as if she has lost her own child. Before she left, however, she took Etta for a walk through the surrounding park before having a cyclops stumble upon them. Though Holly was able to kill it, she realised Etta was either a demigod or a mortal with the sight. Deciding not to take any risks, she left Etta with a celestial bronze dagger that transformed into a golden ring, making Etta promise to always keep it on her.
Not being able to take care of Etta, they sent her to a boarding school, where she was consistently bullied and often hid away in the art room alone, which grew worse when they realised who she and her father was. Etta eventually resented the book and both her parents in return, despising the holidays and rathered the lonely school than being forced to be around them. However, when she was fourteen, she was attacked by a harpy and used the dagger, as the ring had accidentally twisted in her attempt to get away, to kill it. Due to a few older students being demigods, who usually dealt with the monsters without Etta's awareness, she wasn't especially in danger and put it down to a hallucination due to lack of sleep.
When she had just turned eighteen, she was found by a satyr and was brought to camp. During the journey, she was taught about the Greek Gods and learnt about her own legacy and powers.
Etta is a reckless spirit, often racing into things without thinking. She's not a dreamer, though, and more down to Earth and can be quiet unless someone has caught her attention. However, she's deeply loyal and can often let those emotions cloud her judgement and she struggles to control her own feelings. Lazy to an extent, she'd rather relax than do anything straining. She has a love for travel, though, she tries her best to go to remote places whenever she can.
However, she's got a love for the arts and often keeps a sketchbook on her wherever she goes. Though she's not quite use to camp yet, she enjoys being around other people even though she doesn't really talk to them. She can often be found by the lake or the ocean, sometimes on the outskirts of camp sketching. She has a bad habit of disappearing into her own head at times and, once focussed, often tends to ignore the world around her until the project is finished. However, she has no desire to be the best
