Kandra is normally calm and collected, but like her mother, Demeter, she can be short-tempered. although she is diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, she loves to read (In Ancient Greek, of course) about plants and flowers. She may look and sound innocent and sweet, but she has a dark side, and you may not want to see it. She also likes putting plants around the house, claiming it's just for fun, but some suspect she actually has a flowery side to her personality.
History
Carol White met an amazing woman in who knew as much as plants as he did and understood his problems whenever he had some. Sometime after they met, they started dating until one day the mysterious lady announced she was pregnant and disappeared.
Born on August 12, 2007, Kandra was born in California. Carol White didn't quite like her, maybe because of the reason why she just landed on his doorstep, crying. Kandra had an unhappy childhood. Called a freak, and bullied constantly, she was hated amongst fellow peers when she was around 6, which made her lose some of her self confidence.
Her first monster attack appeared one week before she went to camp. Apparently, a scorpion found its way into her school. By that time, Kandra's demigod scent was already beginning to reveal and get stronger. Sitting through some boring Math lesson, Kandra caught a whiff of sulphur. Yep, sulphur. The scorpion burst through the doorway, and began to wreak havoc in the classroom. Kandra could clearly see through the Mist, but her mortal classmates couldn't. Kandra was facing a scary monster thing whilst the others thought they were dealing with a crazy pizza delivery guy. Grabbing what she could find nearby, Kandra picked up a dagger. However, she didn't notice the way the dagger was shining bronze, or that someone had put a Celestial Bronze one there. What she didn’t know was, a satyr who knew she probably needed some help put it there earlier, because he was warned of a monster attack via camp.
Kandra taunted the monster, making it confused and dizzy. Then for a last resort she found a piece of meat or something and threw it behind the scorpion. The scorpion, feeling hungry not just for demigod blood, scurried over to the meat. Whilst it was turned, Kandra thrust her bronze dagger into the beast, and with a howl, the scorpion dissolved. Outside the room, Kandra heard sirens wailing and decided it was time to leave the scene.
Kandra was on a taxi, trying to get away from her mob of haters when a boy with curly black hair and a plain white T-shirt stopped the taxi. He told Kandra to get out of the car and peered through the rain. "Oh, darn it. Long Island's not anywhere near here." Kandra frowned. "What? Why would you want to go to Long Island? This is California!" The boy winced. "Yeah." "Who are you?" "Okay, I'm Max and I'm a satyr. I come from Camp Half-Blood, and you have to get there now." Kandra didn't like it, but she told the satyr about what happened. Max nodded. "Monster attacks come quickly, Kandra. Anyways, can you read Ancient Greek?" "Uh, what?" Max pulled out a scroll and lifted it for Kandra to see. The words clicked. She translated about half the page when the saytr told her to stop.
Later on, Kandra got another taxi and told the cabbie to drive them to the nearest airport. The cabbie looked tired, but she said yes anyway. Half an hour later, they went to the airport. Then a golden chariot landed on the road. Yes, a golden chariot. Kandra was startled, but then she looked at the passenger aboard. A boy with blond hair knitted his eyebrows. "Max, this is the demigod?" Max bobbed his head up and down. "Well, then. Climb aboard."
Another half an hour passed and Kandra saw a hill in the summit, with a pine tree standing tall and proud. Then they landed the chariot next to the cabins, nearly decapitating a nearby nymph.
Camp Half-Blood. This was where Kandra truly belonged. She fit right in with those troublemaker demigods, and she felt right at home.
The campers expected Kandra to be claimed by her godly mother during the campfire, because she was already enough of age and most claiming took place at the campfire. Indeed, Kandra got claimed.
