Kim Hyorin never intended to get pregnant, nor did she ever wanted to have kids. She never planned on having children until she was married. Her boyfriend for 2 years recently broke up with her over something stupid and decided to get wasted. Meeting a handsome man, he told her she can make her feel better and so, she agreed, but after a month of that one night stand and one hospital visit, she was pregnant. She wanted to get an abortion so badly, but she didn’t want to feel like a murderer or feel guilty over losing a child. Somewhere around 4 months, she received a letter. Curious, she opened it and it read, “Dear Hyorin, You may not remember me, but I was the man you had the one night stand with. My name is Dionysus and I am a god. You may already know this, but you’re pregnant with a child. Please, take him to camp in New York when he reaches 13, he’ll be safer there. I’m deeply sorry I had to do this to you. Sincerely, Dionysus.”
Hyorin wanted to rip up the paper, and that’s exactly what she did. She hated this “Dionysus” for doing this to her, but she had to remain calm as stress can do bad things for her child. And around 9 months later, the 22 year old gave birth to a baby boy she named Jungkyu.
She and Jungkyu lived in Busan, South Korea in a beautiful house. Jungkyu was a rebellious little devil, always running around, doing the exact opposite of what his mother told him, etc. Even in school, Jungkyu could never sit still and pay attention in class, getting bad grades and disobeying teachers. Jungkyu was expected to be the perfect son for Hyorin, but already was proving himself as a delinquent. At age 10, the two got in a heated argument about Jungkyu’s grades, Jungkyu was trying to defend himself because he didn’t understand any of the work, but raising his voice and as result, was slapped for it.
Hyorin threatened if he ever raised his voice at her again, he’ll get something worse than a slap. In frustration and despair, Jungkyu fled the house with tears in his eyes. He didn’t know where he was going, but he ran and didn’t stop until his legs grew tired. He didn’t know where he was going - nor did her care - but soon enough, his legs gave out from under him and collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily and his eyesight blurry from tears as black spots danced in his vision. He heard voices - concerned voices - but blacked out.
Waking up, he was in a plain white room in a very comfortable bed. He looked outside, still surprised it was daylight outside. Looking around, his eyes landed on a digital clock, reading 1:12 PM. It was the first day of Spring Break, after all, but how did he end up here?
The door creaked open and a male that looked like he was around in his late teens peered in. He noticed Jungkyu was awake and walked inside. The male introduced himself as Hwang Seojun and he found him when he collapsed to the ground around an hour ago. Before Jungkyu could ask any questions, a set of identical twins popped in, asking if the boy was okay. Jungkyu recognized them immediately as Danny and Kevin Maeng - two Korean-American transfer students from America that were in the same class as him in Elementary school and the two recognized him.
Although they never really spoke much, the three of them were on good terms. Seojun explained that they were his friends. But, what would a high schooler do with Elementary schoolers? Jungkyu asked the question and Seojun replied that if anyone needed a friend, or someone to talk to, he was there. Besides, his 8 year old cousin - Tonghyon - goes to the same school and it’s really no surprise that the twins became friends with him.
Seojun was more than opt to take Jungkyu home, but he didn’t want to go just yet. Instead, he asked if he could hang out here and Seojun granted him permission that, if he ever wanted to hang out, he can come by any time he liked. The whole day, Jungkyu spent time getting to know the faces that were also hanging around, Namseon was 13 and was friends with Sunghyun, Sunghyun was 14 and was friends with Namseon and Seojun when he first entered high school and he was a huge diva, prodding at Jungkyu, but it pissed him off to a point where he growled at him to leave him alone.
Surprised by the younger’s anger, he left him alone, making Namseon rather shocked considering no one reacted like that to Sunghyun. Kevin was rather taken aback at Jungkyu’s attitude while Danny seemed to be impressed. When it was getting dark outside, Seojun began taking everyone home, seeing as they didn’t live far. Jungkyu was the last to be dropped off and Seojun said if he ever wanted to come by again, his door was always opened.
After saying goodbye’s, Jungkyu went inside his residents to see his mother completely unfazed by the fact her son was gone for over 3 hours. Yet, there she was, sitting on the sofa, glass of wine in her hand and watching television. Annoyed, Jungkyu went up to his room, already missing the company of his new friends.
Meeting with his new friends became an everyday thing for 3 years, Jungkyu would go with Danny, Kevin and Tonghyon to Seojun’s house after school to do homework, followed by Sunghyun and Namseon. Jungkyu’s mother downright hated these friends because they were also “delinquents” in her eyes.
It wasn’t until Jungkyu was 13 when he experienced his first monster attack. The black haired boy was walking home from the Maeng residents - Danny and Kevin teaching Jungkyu English for fun considering Jungkyu was really interested in the language - where he was ambushed by a hellhound. Trying to make haste, Jungkyu attempted to escape. Though he was able to run for a little while, his attempt began to run dry when the hellhound suddenly appeared in front of him via shadow-travel. Scared, Jungkyu fell to the floor and covered himself for protection.
A girl around her late teens appeared and told Jungkyu to run while she’ll get the hellhound to chase her. She gave him a pair of skeletal bracelets and said they were for his protection. Confused, he thanked the girl and ran straight home and didn’t stop running until he reached the porch of his home. Out of breath due to running down a few twists and turns in the road to escape the hellhound if the sudden plan didn’t work, Jungkyu entered his home and went straight up to his room, ignoring the shouts of his mother about his grade. Once in his room, his curiosity took the better of him and put them on.
They were cool, but a small button on the wrist of the bracelets caught his eye. Curious, he pressed them. His eyes widened as the bracelets turned into bronze-like claws. Pressing the buttons again, he took off the bracelets and hid them in his drawer.
Jungkyu was attacked a year later by a fire-breathing horse. Seeing the horse, his first instinct was to run and he did. He was so caught up in panic he failed to hear the sound of a weapon cutting into flesh or the calls for him to come back. He ran all the way to Danny and Kevin’s house, asking if he can hang around for awhile and learn more English.
At age 15, once again he was ambushed, but lost the monster by hiding in a small, tight space and hid until the monster was attacked by a demigod and turned to gold dust. The demigod peeked into Jungkyu’s hiding spot, but he hid himself well, wishing the stranger would leave him alone. Looking back, the stranger was gone and Jungkyu crawled out from his hiding spot.
A day later, Jungkyu’s original plan was to go over to Danny and Kevin’s, but since his mother wasn’t home, he decided to relax. Reaching into his mother’s wine cabinet, he opened the wine and poured himself a small glass. Tasting the wine for the first time, it wasn’t all that good, but the more sips he took, the more he grew accustom to the taste.
Around a few hours later, Jungkyu watching television, messing around and even drinking another glass of wine, he heard his mother pull into the driveway. Cursing, Jungkyu hid the empty glass and looked nonchalant as possible. What he didn’t expect was his mother coming home with another child. Jungkyu’s eyes widen and felt his heart shatter. The child seemed just as confused as Jungkyu, but definitely not heartbroken.
Oh, he saw how it was. His mother thought he wasn’t enough so she got herself a new child. Jungkyu thought he was doing better in school - working hard to impress his mother - but it seems his efforts were fruitless.
“This is Jungkyu,” his mother announced, “and he’ll be helping you with your bags and show you your room while I prepare dinner.” With that, she walked off to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
The kid, that he now knew as Chinho, bowed in respect. Jungkyu glared dagger at the kid, but helped him with his bags to the spare room that they always used as the guest room. Too angry, Jungkyu kept his mouth shut to avoid saying anything his mother would slap him for. Dropping the bags in Chinho’s room, he brushed past him and stayed in his room writing for the rest of the evening, even ignoring his mother’s calls to come down for dinner.
This kid was not doing him any good. In fact, he loathed Chinho that he wanted to seriously hurt him. But seeing his mother so proud of him stopped him from doing so. Whenever he wanted to bad mouth his “sibling”, he received a slap from his mother and got an earful of how he could’ve been like that, but he turned out to be a mistake.
Jungkyu still had hope that his mother would be proud of him someday, so he put up with it for the time being. To keep himself occupied, he did his best to annoy the younger; get under his skin, treat him like the dirt he walked in, etc. Jungkyu wanted to get his message loud and clear that he loathed his “brother” and that he wasn’t wanted. But, he didn’t seemed to get the message.
A few months and a day later, his mother left to go shopping for a while and Jungkyu just had enough of this straight-laced child. Now, he and his friends weren’t exactly “good” per se, Seojun, Namseon, Sunghyun and he drank but never did any drugs, only if he was extremely stressed or angered. That was the only time he smoked any sort of cannabis. But that was it. He never smoked any cigarettes or anything else like that.
Peeking into his adopted brother’s room, he snicked at him studying.
Sauntering in, the black haired boy spoke up, “studying again?” He snickered, “lord, no wonder everyone kind of ignores you,” Jungkyu plopped down on the younger’s bed, “you’re such a straight-lace.”
“I’m trying to study,” Chinho replied calmly, “something that normal people do to get a good education.”
The sentence made Jungkyu laugh bitterly, walking over to Chinho’s side before leaning on his desk. “Just smoke with me once in awhile, come on.” He said, nudging him a bit.
“No,” Chinho hissed, “that’s what degenerates do… like you.”
Jungkyu sneered, “well, excuse me for trying to fight for myself through the hardships of being a disappointment.” He spat.
Chinho exhaled audibly, “you know what, Jungkyu?” He turned to the older, “maybe if you, I don’t know, studied for once in your life, maybe then your mother will love you.”
What the younger said made Jungkyu’s blood boil, spinning Chinho’s chair around completely to face him, gritting his teeth.
“Take that back!” The older growled, inching closer to Chinho.
“No because, you know what?! I’m not scared to say it!” Chinho exclaimed, ignoring Jungkyu’s expression of pure fury, “you think you’re all that but in reality, you’re just a puny, sick son of a bitch who’s mother will never love him because he’s a disappointment and failure such as yourself!”
The next thing Jungkyu saw was red and he was straddling Chinho’s waist, hands gripping the younger’s throat and thumbs pressed to his windpipe.
“Take that back, you motherfucker!” Jungkyu growled, “I swear to god I’ll choke you until your throat collapses!” Chinho was a liar, he was lying! His mother did love him!
Such naivety for someone who was already self-aware of his mother’s disgust for him, but built up a wall of false hope. It was a bold move, but Chinho said,
“Your mother will never love a disappointment.”
He crossed the line. Jungkyu’s grip tightened around Chinho’s throat, so blind with anger that he didn’t register the tears forming in his eyes.
“Take it back, take it back, take it back, take it back!” He exclaimed, “Take it back, you bastard! I hate you!! I hate you, I hate you, I HATE YOU!!!”
Jungkyu was so blind with anger - grief - that he didn’t notice his grip getting loose or the tears rapidly falling, “Hyorin loves me! She-” he hiccups, “she loves me… mom,” the words were so foreign on his tongue when speaking about his biological mother, “mom loves me…” Jungkyu trailed off, looking at Chinho’s face with a crestfallen expression before it was replaced with hatred once more.
He got off the younger, scowling at him.
“You don’t know jackshit about me, but she loves me,” he didn’t care if he knew he was lying to himself, he was too blind by his false hope to notice, “m-mom loves me. And you,” Jungkyu gestured to the shocked boy with disgust, “go and ruin everything.” He began walking out of the younger’s room, but looking behind his shoulder and growled, “damn you to hell, Kim Chinho,” and left to his room.
Once in the only place he felt safe with the door locked, he broke down, pressing his face in his pillow as violent sobs wracked his body.
A couple hours later once the boy was calm enough, Jungkyu decided to call his best friend - Danny - to vent to him about what happened but only if he promised to keep it between them. Once Danny promised, he began ranting and ending up breaking down again. Danny stayed with him on the line until he calmed down once more. Hearing Kevin in the background, Jungkyu didn’t want the younger to hear him like this and said his farewells to Danny and hung up.
Approximately a year later, his mother had instructed Jungkyu to watch Chinho and if anything happened to him, he’ll be punished. Waving it off, he simply nodded. But Jungkyu had different plans. Instead of going straight home, he began following the route to Seojun’s house. Chinho had no choice but to tag behind.
Kevin and Danny caught up with them along the way, Kevin immediately holding Jungkyu’s hand while Danny talked about the book he was reading - a book Jungkyu already read - with excitement. Jungkyu looked behind him ever so often to see if Chinho was still behind him. Danny had a distaste for Chinho ever since the call from Jungkyu while Kevin stayed blissfully unaware. Jungkyu didn’t want anything else on the younger since he cared so much about him - and not in a friendly way.
Once reaching the house, Jungkyu walked in like he lived there, surprised to see Namseon, Sunghyun and Tonghyon already at the house. Seojun was Tonghyon’s temporary guardian while his parents were in Ulsan for business. Seojun was a great guardian, no doubt, but what he did for a living wasn’t the best. As long as it made him good money, he didn’t care.
Sunghyun - who was the group’s diva - started gossiping to Jungkyu how there was this girl who had a hardcore crush on the latter. Jungkyu felt flattered but it was rather common for people to like him due to his “bad boy” image and charm. Once realizing who the girl was - a freshman - Jungkyu began breaking into hysterics. Seojun took note of Chinho and approached him about drugs, thinking the boy was around Jungkyu’s age. Jungkyu stepped in quickly, telling Seojun that he was too young for that. Widening his eyes, Seojun apologized and backed off.
Sunghyun and Namseon tried to converse with Chinho as Jungkyu talked to Kevin about his struggles in another room in private. Kevin had major depression and it made Jungkyu worried as all hell since he liked - no, loved - the latter too much that he wanted to help, but Kevin didn’t want to be burdensome to him or his twin brother. Kevin told Jungkyu that he seriously contemplated about giving up altogether, but the black haired boy told him that life wouldn’t be the same without him. The long, brown haired boy said he seriously doubted that but Jungkyu pulled him close and told him that he loved him. At first, Kevin was dumbfounded since Jungkyu always loved women, but a kiss from him made him rethink everything.
Kevin had known Jungkyu for quite some time and, sure, the older was always giving Kevin more affection than any of their other friends, but Kevin always thought it was in a friend way. Oh how wrong he was. Things were getting heated, but Kevin cut it off when he was getting too nervous and told Jungkyu to stop everything. And he did. Jungkyu backed off and instead, brought them back out to the main room and pulled Kevin in his lap, petting his hair and resting his head on his shoulder.
A few hours later as it began to get darker out, Jungkyu decided it was best to leave and took Chinho home. The two failed to take note of two mysterious women following behind them. The two heard bird screeching and looked behind them to see two harpies. Jungkyu ran and left Chinho in the dust, not regretting it. A male ran past him, but Jungkyu was too busy trying to save his own ass to notice and ran straight home. Once reaching home, he sat on the steps to catch his breath.
After a few moments, Chinho and mysterious stranger appeared and Jungkyu stood, glaring at the stranger. His mother was going to be home soon, so once Chinho was done conversing with the stranger, he dragged Chinho inside and the two waited for their mother to arrive.
Once she did, she gasped in horror at Chinho’s state, scolding Jungkyu and rushed him to the ER, leaving Jungkyu home alone. He was in for it when she got home and he sure enough, his suspicions were correct. His mother hit him a plethora of times for letting Chinho go through all of that. It hurt so much but Jungkyu still had hope.
A couple months later, Jungkyu was called into the principal’s office. It wasn’t exactly often he went to the principal’s office, but it was common. The principal told Jungkyu that he got another complaint from a teacher about his behavior. The principle was said he wouldn’t get him suspended if he participated in school’s stupid talent show they held every year. It was a chance to redeem himself for school participation. Jungkyu didn’t want to, but it was better than getting suspended, so he participated.
Talking it over with his friends, each of them had some radical idea, but Kevin suggested he sang. It was the most overused talent act, but it was the most normal one out of the ideas. He picked a song he knew the lyrics all too well - Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors.
When the talent show rolled around, Jungkyu was actually nervous. He practiced for days - research online and even going as far as doing vocal warm-ups whenever he had the chance and locked himself in his room - but he didn’t know if his own voice was good. He thought he was pretty good, but he didn’t know if he was tone deaf or not.
Swallowing his nervousness, it was his time to go on stage. For the performance, he decided to dye his hair platinum blonde - so blonde it almost appeared to be white - and was adorned in a outfit in mainly black - black dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants and black shoes and black blazer, spare for the gold rings on the forearms of the blazer. Gripping the microphone in his hand, he sang his song.
He didn’t expect an applaud, he didn’t expect to be good. It surprised him when he did and a smile adorned his features, as if he was proud with himself. Once off stage, Namseon, Sunghyun, Danny and Kevin and Tonghyon said he was amazing out there which made Jungkyu’s cheeks color red. For once in his life, he had something to be proud in. Namseon suggested he try out for the HD Entertainment auditions to become a singer there.
Interested, he took Namseon’s word for it and a week later, tried out. The judges seemed to be impressed and told them he’d call him back. With each passing day, Jungkyu wouldn’t stop looking at his phone, ignoring Chinho and his mother more often and when he received the phone call, he accepted with a huge grin. Packing his things, his friends all gave them their goodbyes before the car to pick him up came to drive him to Seoul.
Under the stage name Juni, he was a solo artist and attended Seoul Performing Arts High School.
Of course, when there’s ups, there’s downs. On one morning, a few weeks after the release of his EP, he got a call from Danny saying Chinho was rushed to the hospital and it was for something critical. Immediately, he told the company he needed to head to Busan for a major family issue. The CEO, Ch’ae Hee-dong, gave him permission to travel to Busan.
After a 4 hour train trip, he rushed to the hospital to see Chinho, but failed to notice he had someone on his tail. Asking the nurse where Chinho was, pointing him in the ward his brother was held, he made his way as calmly as possible. Seeing his brother in such a state made him shocked for a moment, but thoughts of how he deserved is flooded his mind and the silver haired idol’s cold facade was back on his face once more.
There were a few awkward conversations until a girl about in her mid teens entered the room. Both Jungkyu and Chinho were extremely confused, the girl muttering something incoherent before practically tackling Jungkyu.
“Juni oppa,” she squealed, “we’re meant to be together!!” Jungkyu’s attempts to pry the girl off was useless as her grip was like iron.
“Get out,” Jungkyu growled darkly, trying to use his cold act to scare her off, but no avail.
When Chinho pleaded, “get the nurse, please,” this gave Jungkyu time to call for a nurse and a security guard to escort the girl out of the hospital. Since Chinho was far too busy with nurses, he said his goodbyes and left. While on the way back to Seoul, a hellhound found Jungkyu and chased him into the train station, Jungkyu able to lose the hellhound in the crowd of people and took the earliest train to Seoul. While on the train, he wrote a lot, most of his inspirations coming from life experiences. A few of them were dark, a few narcissistic, but a few were rather upbeat. Jungkyu smiled at the songbook and wrote through most of the way home with earbuds in his ears.
A year later after producing just a new EP and a couple days after a fan signing event, the silver haired 17 year old received a text from Kevin, asking about him. With Jungkyu’s heavy schedule, he hadn’t gotten time to be with his friends - let alone talk to them - but he was getting a break soon and planning to travel back to Busan to be with his friends. He texted the boy he loved for a good couple of hours before Kevin had to go. He left the news about how he was going to visit a surprise, thinking it was going to be a good idea.
Oh, how he was wrong.
Once arriving in Busan, he began heading to Danny and Kevin’s, but a giant scorpion found him and ambushed him. Since his claws were back in Seoul, he didn’t have anything to fight with and ran. A few teenagers ran past him and Jungkyu looked back, seeing the teenagers spring into action and attack the scorpion. Jungkyu didn’t have time to be amazed, he had friends to visit.
But once arriving at Danny’s house, he saw a figure on the edge of the roof of their building complex and ran straight inside. He climbed the steps - thanking his company for making him work out - and once reaching the roof, he saw Danny crying.
“Jungkyu, please, help Kevin!” Danny cried and Jungkyu approached Kevin, the one on the edge of the roof.
“Kevin, what are you doing?” Jungkyu questioned with concern. Kevin looked over at Jungkyu with a vacant expression before turning his gaze back to the concrete.
“Kevin, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but for the love of god, don’t jump.” Jungkyu said.
“What’s the point, Jungkyu? My life has gone to hell. Not even Danny helped. I can’t keep living like this. I’m tired, Jungkyu.” Kevin said in a monotone voice.
“I know you are, but listen to me, Kevin. Your life means a lot to many people. You’ve turned my whole life around and-”
“And you left me.” Kevin cut him off.
Jungkyu blinked. “I didn’t leave you. I still love you, Kevin. Please, don’t jump.”
Kevin looked over at Jungkyu and smiled sadly.
“I love you too, Jungkyu.” Kevin said, and it was the last thing he said before flinging himself off the roof.
“NO!” Jungkyu exclaimed, rushing over to the side but it was too late.
Looking at the ground below him lied Kevin’s lifeless body. Jungkyu’s eyes stung with tears and rushed to the ground. Covering his mouth, he wept. His visit home turned to hell and he couldn’t bother linger around, yet again failing. So, he ran back to Seoul, tears in his eyes.
A year later, Jungkyu recently just turned 18 and decided to treat himself with a drink - something he hadn’t had in such a long time. But, he had an image to keep. Some of his friends from HD Entertainment surprised him with a cake and sang happy birthday to him. They reminded much about his friends back home and the memory alone brought him to tears.
His friends decided to treat him with dinner and some drinks. Of course, Jungkyu was able to hold his liquor longer, so he didn’t get drunk all that easily. Since he had a busy day tomorrow, he decided to go home. Walking alone in the dark in Seoul is a bad idea. It’s even worse when you’re a demigod. Ambushed by a couple hellhounds, the hellhounds cornered him, leaving him with nowhere to run. This time, Jungkyu had his claws on him and fought back. But, he was untrained and screwed up more times than he can count.
Jungkyu was getting his ass kicked and, before it became too severe, a Celestial Bronze sword slashed into one of the hellhounds and helped fight back with Jungkyu. The demigod said, if he attracted hellhounds, he must be a demigod. Leaving no room for debate, the demigod took Jungkyu to camp.
After one plane ride and a taxi, the two arrived at camp. Jungkyu always wanted to visit the states, he and Kevin had plans to visit as many states as possible once they were 21. Jungkyu stepped into camp and looked up at the sky, muttering,
“I did it, Kevin. I’m here. I’ll make as many memories as I can, for you, okay?”
Powers @KimJungkyu • Apr 8
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to force a state of mild drunkenness on another person for a short time. Depending on their mood, the state of mind they force can either be drunken ecstasy, drunken confusion, drunken frenzy, or drunken sadness.
- Children of Dionysus are able to manipulate wine into streams and use them for their will; this can appear in the form of one powerful direct stream that acts as a hose, or having multiple thin but powerful streams with the ability to make hairline cuts across a user’s body.
- Children of Dionysus can null the pain of any wound for a short time.
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to create a field of energy around them, anyone who steps through it will feel intense thought of madness and insanity. The opponent will be driven mad and completely forget about the battle or the user. This power is purely for defensive use, since the user cannot move while the field is in place. The longer the field is kept up, the more energy is drained. If an opponent already taken by the insanity attempt to attack the user, they will see horrible hallucinations which will make it even harder to attack. Once the field vanishes, the target immediately regains their sanity.
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to shift between states of drunkenness, to their choosing.
- Children of Dionysus can turn any beverage into wine and create small amounts of it out of nothing.
- Children of Dionysus emit an aura of drunkenness, people would at least feel slightly tipsy around them. It can be shut off for a long time if they please.
- Children of Dionysus can beckon any feline within a 50ft radius (15.25 meters) to their need, however, the more felines they call, the more impossible it is to give them commands/ command them.
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to create thick ropes of grape vines which can be used for a multitude of purposes. The user may telekinetically control the vines.
- Children of Dionysus can enhance themselves through wine consumption. This can help them quickly heal minor wounds, sharpen their senses or focus, or increase their stamina; however if they consume too much wine, the user may become unpredictable.
- Children of Dionysus can cause someone to hallucinate things that aren't really there, the longer they maintain the hallucinogenic state the more energy it drains.
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to create a wine variant with the ability of weakening someone’s immune system and giving them symptoms similar to food poisoning (ie; weak limbs, vomiting, cramping, nausea, diarrhea.)
3 Months After a Character is Made
- Children of Dionysus are able to turn into a predatory cat for a short time. Such as lions, cheetahs, leopards or panthers. They can turn into either a full big cat or a humanoid cat form. In the human/big cat form, they are twice as fast and stronger than before. Their senses are also quite sharper as well. They also tend to be more violent and volatile in this state. Once the transformation ends, it’s hard for them to remember what it’s like to be human. They may continue to display cat behavior. Using the hybrid form is more draining rather than the full cat form.
6 Months After Character is Made
- Children of Dionysus have the power to let off wine mist from their pores, allowing it to spread out up to a football field’s length. Those who inhale said mist can feel the symptoms of a hangover which are: muscle soreness, dehydration, dizziness, headaches, lightheadedness, vertigo, sweating, heartburn, nausea, sensitivity to lightness and sound, a faster heart rate, indigestion, and irritability. They themselves are immune to the effects of the mist, but no one else is (this includes allies). The larger the surface area the mist travels, the less potent it is. This means that at a football field’s length it only feels like a mild hangover, but concentrated in small areas, or small enclosed areas, it is a rather raging hangover. They do not have control over dispersing the mist, but it can be blown away using fans and airing.
9 Months After a Character is Made
- Children of Dionysus have the ability to inspire maddening dedication and obsession from an enemy or ally, causing them to dedicate themselves to their cause. It can only be used on one person at a time, or five monsters at a time. The more sentient the creature, the harder it is to use (ie, manticores are more like people, same with empousa, so not as many can be controlled because of their higher sentience. It becomes more difficult per mind and per sentience of mind.) The longer the power is used, the more confused and unfocused the user gets, making it harder to use any powers. Side effects of this power on the those it is used on is blacking out during these moments, and forgetting they were in this state. If used too much, the user can be left unable to have the concentration to use any powers for a period of time.
- Children of Dionysus generally have a taste for alcohol and partying.
- As Dionysus is the patron of plays, playwrights and acting, his children often make good actors and playwrights.
- Children of Dionysus are typically fond of and are favored by predatory cats, nymphs and satyrs.
- Children of Dionysus tend to give into thoughts of madness and insanity.
- Children of Dionysus are prone to being unpredictable in the eyes of others.
- Children of Dionysus can immediately know the age, type, and quality of wine just by tasting it.
- Children of Dionysus can innately tell if wine grapes are good for harvesting.
- Children of Dionysus are popular among people, and can be prone to having stalkers or groupies.
