Dear Jacob,
A boy, carries an amphora of water up a heavy hill. His muscles strain with the effort. It is a hot day and he wants to rest. His brow drips with sweat, as he drops the ceramic pot. It smashes across the ground. Looking down, he frowns and he starts to tremble. As he is about to cry, a hand is placed on his shoulder. Looking up, the boy sees three more boys, each with a smaller jar of water, offering to help him.

It turns out Nove was kidnapped by Eros, who wanted to test to see if Jacob was strong enough to find Nove. The quest was essentially made to encourage him to be honest with his new-found friends, Jake and Tyler. They all receive enchanted clothing from Eros, suited to their personal tastes:
- Tyler- A tie-dye shirt which can shift colors, acting like camoflage
- Jacob- A pair of leather riding chaps which increases his running speed
- Jake- A pair of sunglasses which grant him vision in the dark and through fog & mist
Light and song’s child has been caught,
Victory will seek and must fear not.
With help of colleagues he shall find,
The cupbearer with twisted mind.
Each one will learn a thing or two,
Trust and poise in different hues,
Find the father of the Love heir,
His goal is to prove, so don’t despair.Quest
Camp Half-Blood
Jacob: Waking up from the dream, Jacob scratches his head. It felt incredibly real, and he could almost swear that his back muscles ached, from the weight of the amphora. It takes him a second to realise who the dream was from. Slipping his jock on, he ran to the Eros cabin and bashed on the door. "Jake, please open up! I gotta talk to you! Your dad is sending me dreams!"
Jake: He woke up at Jacob's shouting and yawned. He took off the field sheets out of his body and walked up to the door in just his briefs. "What? What about a paddling Dean?" He rubbed his eyes with his fists while yawning once more. Jacob: Hearing Jacob's voice, he stopped pounding, "No, your dad is sending me dreams!" He called through the door, "You're the only son of Eros I know!" He explains, "That's why I gotta talk to you." Jake: He opened the door and Jacob would see him in his briefs and his brown hair in a messy pompadour "You mean the only hot son of Eros, right?" He raised an eyebrow "Anyhow, how on Earth am I supposed to know why did he send it to you? I'm not him..." Jacob: He rolled his eyes, "Yeah, look, the point is that there's a chance that you might be able to help me figure out what the dream means." Jacob then describes the dream to the son of Eros, describing what the Amphora boy looked like. "There was something familiar about him...I couldn't put my finger on it..." Jake: Seeing Jacob, he remembered the other day with Nove "Have you seen November anywhere? I looked for him yesterday but couldn't find him..." Jacob: "Not since that movie night we had..." Jacob shook his head, "You don't think something's happened to him...do you?" Jake: "I'm afraid it may be possible..." Jacob: "But why would Eros...?" Jacob realised the answer. and stopped himself. "We've gotta find him. He's our buddy." Jake: "I know, that's out of doubt, but how are we going to do it? We don't have the remotest idea of where he might be." Jacob: "Shouldn't we...you know, tell someone? Alexander? The head of his cabin?" Jacob began to jog in the direction of the Apollo Cabin, "Someone in charge has to know!" Sure, Jake may have been convinced, but Jacob wanted to see with his own eyes that Nove had vanished. Jake: "We could go to the Oracle's Cave..." He said biting his lower lip. "It's scary but worth it..." Jacob: He stopped in his tracks, "Oracle's Cave?" He hadn't heard or seen that place yet, "I guess we could go if it means finding Nove, but someone should know though, right?" Jacob was a bit torn. On one hand, Jake had been at camp longer and knew what he was talking about, but on the other, if he and Jake were to up and vanish too, the camp my get a bit hectic. Jake: Jake sighed "Look Jacob, if we tell someone about it, they'll most probably forbid us from going to search him. If we go to the Oracle's cave, we'll get a prophecy and actually know what to do". Jacob: Nodding, Jacob walked back to him, "You know more than me on this I guess..." He looked up at Jake, "Will I have to put more clothes on to see this Oracle?" Jake: "No...." He said sarcastically Jacob: Taking it literally, Jacob shrugged, "Lead the way I guess...what is the Oracle? Isn't there some computer programmed called that?" Jake: "I meant you NEED to change your clothes" he facepalmed "Also did you never get out of that ranch bubble of yours?" He asked seriously Jacob: "Oh..." Jacob frowned, "Not really...only time I wasn't on the ranch was when we took horses to races. Those days were really big, and those were the days it was mandatory for me to wear a full outfit." The son of Nike assumed that where ever the two of them wound up going, that it'd be just like the race days. "I'll be right back." Jogging back to his cabin, he slipped in and tossed on a pair of black shorts and a tan t-shirt. Sliding on his shoes, he snuck back out and returned to Jake. "Sorry about that," he apologized again, "Let's go find Nove." Jake: Jake nodded and guided Jacob to the oracle's cave. The demigods arrive at the the Oracle's cave and Jacob receives a prophecy instructing how to find Nove. Jacob: Leaving the cave, Jacob thought about the prophecy that he had just received, "It sounds like it might be just more than you and me rescuing Nove. The Oracle said 'colleagues', as in plural." He tossed around a few lines, "Each one will learn a thing or two, trust and poise in different hues. Jake, isn't 'hue' an art term?" Jake: As soon as he heard it he thought of his brother "Tyler!" He said then paused "Wait- it can't be Tyler. I- I won't let him. He's too young for a quest like this..." Jacob: Jacob shrugged his broad shoulders. "He has to grow up at some point." He thinks, glancing up towards Jake. "Tyler is his friend too." Three hands, three amphoras. "When your dad sent me the dream, there were three demigods helping Nove up. It can't be a coincidence, right?" Jake: Jake sighed "Lets go for him and get the heck out of here before someone finds out we are up to something." Jacob: "Let's go then." He began to run as quietly as possible towards the Iris Cabin. Tyler: The son of Iris is sleeping in his cloud bed in his cabin Jake: He knocked hard on the Cabin "Tyler! It is 7:05!" he lied. He knew that if he said so Tyler would wake up in 3 seconds. Tyler: Eyes bolting awake the son of Iris quickly tossed on a clean shirt and his gym shorts. Not looking out the window to see what time it really was, Tyler jammed his feet into his shoes and ran out of his room and out of the cabin, "I'm up! I'm up! I'm..." stopping outside the cabin, he now realized it was still dark and that Jacob and Jake were waiting for him, "What's going on?" Jake: Jake sighed as he looked at Tyler "Nove is gone" Tyler: He looked a bit taken aback, "What? How? Did he leave on his own?" Honestly, Tyler couldn't think what would cause Nove to pack up his bags and leave camp. Jake: "We think he's been kidnapped. I went to his cabin yesterday. I couldn't find him and his stuff. MOST precious stuff was still there. He would've taken it if he ran home." Jake reasoned Tyler: He tilted his head, "If that's so...why do you think he's been kidnapped?" Jacob: "Eros sent me a dream." He explained, "Jake took me to the Oracle and we wound up getting a Prophecy. I'm going out on a limb to say that you don't just get Prophecies when a kid runs home for a bit." Tyler: "Then why'd you wake me?" Tyler yawned, "I'm sure the two of you can handle finding Nove." Jake: "The prophecy gives us hints that tell us you should come." Tyler: Tyler bit his lower lip, "But...what can I do?" He looked between the older campers, "I'm not that good of a fighter, and I'm still learning how to use my powers." He remembered his arena fight with Matt, and how he had spent a good portion of it running away and defending with barriers. Jake: "We're not sure how you could help. But we need you. Nove needs you." Jacob: The son of Nike placed his hand on Tyler's shoulder, "Please?" Tyler: Nodding, he didn't want one of his friends to go missing, "Let me pack 'refract' and 'reflect'," Tyler replied, "Then I'll be ready." As he neared the door, he looked over his shoulder, "Um...does anyone else know that Nove is missing?" Jake: "Not that we know of yet." Tyler: Again, he bit his lip, "Shouldn't someone be told?" Tyler didn't want to worry his other friends if he were to up and vanish. Not to mention, someone would have to feed Finks while he was away. Jake: "If we tell someone, they might as well not let us go Tyler." Tyler: He nodded his head, "Oh..." Slipping back in, Tyler crept back into his room and changed into a pair of jeans and put on his sheathes for his dual sica/scimitar hybrids he called 'sicatars'. He grabs his roller blades and puts them over his shoulder before, kneeling down he pet Finks who was sleeping on the cloud bed as well, "I'll be back soon Finky." Putting out his morning food and a bit extra, he stood up and quickly returned to the others. "I'm ready. Where do we start looking?" Jake: "My cabin. I'm still in my robe." Tyler: He had to hide a small laugh, "You have a point, Jacob's the one who I'd expect to go on a quest in nothing but a robe." Looking at Jacob, he was actually surprised, "Wow...you're actually wearing a full outfit for once. Never thought I'd see the day." Jake: "I made him wear it. But I couldn't change since we ran to the cave. Well, should we go?" Tyler: The son of Iris nods and follows Jacob: "Sooner we get Jake dressed, sooner we find Nove." Jake: Jake goes to his cabin and dresses himself in dark jeans, a long-sleeved purple shirt and a leather jacket over it. He put a disposable white underwear shirt on his back pack just in case. He walked back to the boys "I'm ready. Shall we get going?" He said as he walked toward the camp entrance." Jacob: "Took you long enough." Jacob smirked. He packed some clothes into the bag, his weapons and some bottles of Gatorade. "Sure. How are we gonna find the cupbearer with twisted mind? We can't just dial Olympus and ask to see him." Jake: "Prophecies are supposed to be encrypted... Who was the cupbearer of the Gods? Ganomodo? Gamedean?..." Tyler: "Ganymede?" Tyler suggested, "I spent a bit of time reading about minor gods." Jake: "That one!" Jake exclaimed. "Was he the god of homosexual love too? Tyler: He shrugged, "I dunno. I just knew that he and Hebe were cup bearers for the gods. Where would we find him?" He kept up with them as they neared the camp's entrance, "Don't think you can just Iris-message him." Jake: He shrugged "Who says so? You get free Iris-Messaging, don't you?" Tyler: "Well...yes..." Tyler created a small rainbow between his hands, "Um...mom, could you show me Ganymede please?" Ganymede: "cough cough, bitch you called?" Ganymede says, as he appears in a pair of gym shorts, a weed shirt, an obey hat, Rebok shoes, knee high nike socks, and a pair of weed glasses. Jake: "Yes. We're calling" Jake replied. "I'm Jake, son of Eros, he's Tyler, a son of Iris and the other is Jacob. He's a child of Nike. We need your help." Jacob: Jacob was a bit taken aback by the god's tone, but since they needed Ganymede to help them, he held back, "Ganymede, we have several questions for you that pertain to our quest. Is there somewhere we can meet you so we can talk?" Ganymede: "Right, fugging, here, I mean where else would a God meet you? Other than where you're at?" Ganymede shuffles some, "I am however, really busy, Zeus is busy and needs to be pleased soon, so you'll have to make your questions quick—He doesn't feed himself yahknow," Jake: "Well, we were told that we needed to actually go and see you... And the questions we have will probably take a bit. Do you have anywhere we could meet?" Ganymede: "Oh, fine, hum, you can visit me at my shoppe where I sell clothes for models, male and female, sexy and very lingerie-like," Ganymede smiles, "Meet me at the Ganymede's Secret Model warehouse, slash, office about 3 hours from here," A small piece of paper pops down from the cloud that he's been speaking in, it's folded up into a tricorne. "Peel it apart and check out the instructions to get there, oh, and don't expect to see me in this attire..." Tyler: As the rainbow faded away, Tyler looked to Jake, "What did he mean 'don't expect to see me in this attire'?" Jacob: Catching the paper, he unfolded it and looked the instructions over, "So...how exactly are supposed to get to this place? I don't exactly have a car." Jake: "He won't be dressed as he saw him now." He replied to Tyler "And there's this thing called walking... Which we will most probably do. Or take a cab. Does anyone have human cash?" Tyler: He shook his head, "I've been meaning to go into Town and sell sketches so I had some extra money...but I haven't been able to." The reason he hadn't was the fact he didn't think he should be going alone into town, not to mention Karen had said something about 'being at peace with the dark rain cloud inside him'. Maybe this quest will clear that up. Jacob: "Well, walking it is then!" He smiled. He handed Jake the directions, "You probably know the state better than me. Any idea of what we're walking into?" Jake: He swallowed down. He really didn't know about New York, but chances were that Jacob and Tyler knew even less, so he accepted his role "Not really" he admitted "But lets get going" |
Times Square, New York
The sun had already risen by the time the demigods had managed to reach New York.
Tyler: Rubbing his legs he looked at Jake, "Do you think Ganymede expected us to walk when he told us '3 hours'?" He didn't want to sound whiny, but he had spent a lot of time on his feet. He was really wishing he had a pair of roller blades now. Jake: "Probably. It's just been 2:07. I think we can make it" he nodded. Jacob: He looked around the town, whistling at the town, "Impressive. Never seen a city this big before." Tyler: "It's different from Jacksonville, that's for sure." Tyler said, "It's colder, that's for sure." Jacob: "So Jake," The son of Nike asked, "How exactly will we find this 'Ganymede Secret'? Pretty sure a store like that would get some kind of attention." Tyler: "Maybe the Mist hides it?" The son of Iris suggested, "Maybe it looks like an empty building." Jake: "Or maybe it is hidden in a Victoria' Secret store!" He laughed at the thought of it. Jacob: He tilted his head, "You know...I've never understood that name. Why would my mom want to run an underwear store?" Tyler: "What do you mean? Your mom is Nike..." Jake: "Well, she isn't exactly your mother." Jake corrected "Oh and Victoria was the Roman goddess of victory, that's why it is 'Victory' actually..." Tyler: He snickered, "Well, it'd make sense Jake...our son of Nike does like to hang out in nothing but his underwear." Jacob: "Hey! Sometimes I don't wear the underwear" Jacob interrupts. He looks back to the note. "We should be pretty close." Jake: "Jacob. There's no need to be graphic about it... And yes, we're really close." The three teens emerged from an alley into the bustling Times Square Tyler: The son of Iris stared at the amount of life that was going on in the area. He'd never seen anything like this before. How are we supposed to find a god in all this confusion? Jacob: Tyler looked comfortable in comparison to Jacob's open jaw. The son of Nike had never seen so many people together in the same place at the same time, not even at camp. Any memory of finding Nove was put on the back burner. Jake: "He told us to go to his shoppe which is..." he looked at the map and then at Times Square, noticing a sign that read 'Ganymede's Secret' "Oh, right over there..." he pointed at it. Tyler: Breaking his attention from the crowd, he followed Jake's finger. The Mist must have been rather powerful as it flickered between a rent-able store front and a blue-and-indigo pastel store front with male mannequins wearing various underwear. "Erm...you think I'm old enough to actually go in?" Jake: He looked at Tyler."Uhmm... maybe I could send pheromones when we get there so they can get distracted from your age?" he offered. Tyler: He remembered the last time Jake gave of pheromones, "Just...not too strong. I don't want to go overboard on either you or Jacob." Turning to gesture at the son of Nike, Tyler found him still staring at Times Square, "Maybe you should spritz a few pheromones under Jacob's nose?" Jake: "What for? He could get inside... As far as I'm concerned he's as old as I am..." he said, not quite understanding what Tyler meant by that. Tyler: Walking around in front of Jacob, Tyler waved his arms to get his attention, "Earth to Jacob? You in there?" Jake: "Jacob...Jacob! WAKE UP!" At the last words, he let out a wave of pheromones accidentally. Not enough to make Jacob crazy, but enough to probably make him notice them and be confused. Jacob: As the pheromones hit Jacob's nose, he smells warm leather and straw, snapping him back to reality. "Huh...what?" Tyle: He didn't think that Jake would actually use a bit of pheromones, but luckily Tyler had braced himself a bit, but he still wondered what Jake would look like in the briefs he saw in the storefront, "We found Ganymede's Secret. You're the quest leader, lead the way." Jake: He nodded and made the way fro Jacob to walk and go further. Jacob: His mind slowly defogged. Looking into the distance, he saw the 'Ganymede's Secret' store and took a deep breathe, "Here goes nothing..." He forges ahead towards the store. Once at the door, he pulls them open and walks in. Jake: As soon as he got into the store he let out a strong wave of pheromones, actually stronger than he intended to. He wanted to distract people from Tyler but it could affect anyone. Tyler: He starts to regret Jake's plan as his nose is filled with the smell of white chocolate. As he enters, Tyler spies a pink pair of boxer briefs that he wanted to see Jake in. Focus Tyler...Nove is missing. You can imagine Jake in different underwear later. Jacob: The smell of leather fills his nose again, but now it's coming from behind him. He glances over his shoulder and only finds Jake's chiseled body and Tyler. This can't be right. Jake: He ruffled his hair and noticed Jacob was looking at him. "Uhmm... how should we find Ganymede inside here?" he then spotted some lime green briefs that he liked "Oh. These look cool" he grabbed them from the rack and showed them to Jacob. They were over his crotch, as if he were actually wearing them "Do you think these'd look good?" Tyler: The son of Iris wasn't paying attention, he had come across an unusual thing it was shaped in a c-shape but the front had a large pouch while the back was just a piece of leopard print cloth covered plastic, "Jake...what's this? I don't understand how you wear this..." Jacob: As his friends wandered the store, Jacob called out, "Ganymede, we're here!" His eyes did wander between several fashion jocks. Jake: "TYLER. DROP THAT!" he shouted. Tyler: He dropped the item like it was about to bite him, "What? Why?" He didn't understand what could be so dangerous about it. Jake: "Just- Just don't grab it again, okay?" Tyler: "Okay..." He didn't question Jake as he wandered over to a rack of vibrantly colored briefs. "For a business owner...you think Ganymede would be in by now..." Jake: "I think the same... Ganymede! Us stupid demigods have gotten here already!" Ganymede: He walks around the corner, out of an office door to be exact, "You don't have to shout," He smiles, come in here and we'll talk, deals, business and then what you want," Ganymede grins, his blue eyes well set with his now wavy, long brown locks of hair falling to his shoulders, a slight, sharp trimmed brown beard, the rest of him clothed in a bright blue suit, a white button down shirt and a royal blue tie tucked into a vest. He then turns and walks back towards the corner, from which he turns down and walks down the short hallway, expecting the boys to follow. Jacob: He pulled himself to reality and gestured for Jake and Tyler to follow him, "So...what causes a god to go into the...underwear business?" Jake: He walked behing Ganymede "Yeah. I've been wondering that since you told us." Tyler: Seeing his friends following the god, Tyler followed after them, still holding onto a pair of red briefs, not wanting to get lost in a place where Jake clearly had put no-touch limit on certain items. Ganymede: "There's a beautiful vulnerability in underwear. I find getting to deal in it very aesthetically pleasing." Jacob: He nodded, "That...interesting, but like we said over Iris-message, we were hoping you could help us find our friend Nove. He's about six feet, brown hair, muscular body. He just up and vanished during the night and Eros chose me to find him." Tyler: He stayed behind the older campers, secretly hoping that Ganymede didn't see him. He didn't want to make a god mad just for being too young to be in his store. Jake: He nodded and hid Tyler behind him. Ganymede: "Oh small child, whither for art thou hiding, come forth and eschew thineself with the colours of the holy crescent rain lights, and at that sun breezing shall I tarry forth with some semblance of information about the explosion in the skies," Ganymede says. Jacob: He stared blankly at the god, "Now...without the Shakesperean flair." Ganymede: "Shakespere is a faker, and that one," Ganymede points at Tyler, "Is putting on 6-7 pairs of underwear, each getting more and more revealing as the trying goes on, and then I might think about giving you information if we can do a photo shoot with the last one," Ganymede smirks and then laughs slightly. Tyler: He stepped out from behind Jake and gulped, "Why me? Wouldn't Jake be better suited?" Jake: He didn't know if to nod or to shake his head. What should he say in this moment? He spit out the first thing that came into his head "And what if you only give us the info? Wouldn't that be less time-consuming for you and your busy business?" Ganymede: "I'm a God, and if you want anything from me, you WILL do as I ask," Ganymede says, pointing to 7 pairs of underwear laying on his desk. Jake: He sighed "I guess you'll need to do as he says, Tyler" he shrugged. Tyler: Trembling a bit he walked up and saw that each pair was a different color of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet; each one with less material than the last. Picking up the first pair, red briefs he looked to the god, "Is there a dressing room I could use?" It was bad enough the god was picking on him, but the least he could do was to let him have some privacy when he changed. Jacob: The son of Nike could see that Tyler was nervous, "He's just a kid Ganymede, he's scared." Tyler: Hearing that from Jacob, Tyler looked at him, "I'm not scared...I'm just...modest." Ganymede: "I don't give a flying fadoodle if he's a kid or an old wrinkly man. You all wanted information. My information comes with a price. This is the price. If you ain't willing to pay my price then you can bugger off. Tyler: Taking a deep breath, he turns his back to the three and peels his shirt and jeans off. Laying them, his skates, and his blades in a small pile, he glances over his shoulder at Jake as the son of Iris hooks his thumbs in the waistband of his own underwear. Jacob: As Tyler prepare to get changed, Jacob gives Ganymede the evil eye. "I'll pay the price on his behalf." He offered, glancing back to Ty. "Why does it have to be him? What's the point?" Ganymede: "The function, pathetic mortal, is that the underwear can only be put on by he that is least willing to don it. If you try to take his place, I will take my invaluable information elsewhere." Jake: "Are there any change rooms here at least?" Tyler: He took a deep breath, "I...I don't mind if there isn't..." Tyler's face was as read of the underwear he was preparing to put on. Making sure that his back was to the others, he slips his briefs off and quickly slides on the red ones. Jake: He closed his eyes as he saw Tyler get his off. If he at least had anything to give to Tyler, it was privacy. Jacob: Giving a quick huff, he looked at Ganymede, "Is there anything I can do while we wait for your little show to be over?" Ganymede: Ganymede tosses Jacob a small Sudoku book then turns back to Tyler. "No no no, you cheating little wretch! You need to change in FRONT of everyone. Tyler: Turning, he faced Ganymede hung his head and reached for the next pair, the orange ones. Taking a deep breath, he slid down the red pair, revealing his bare front to the god before starting to slide on the next pair. Looking over to Jake he muttered, "You don't have to stay here, you can go shopping if you want..." Jacob: Deciding to not make the son of Iris feel alone, Jacob walked into the store and grabbed a few pairs of underwear before returning to Tyler and the god. Once back he peels off his shirt, "If I can't take his place, least I can do is make him feel less awkward." Jake: Still with his eyes closed, he wondered "The heck are you talking about Jacob?" Jacob: Kicking his shorts off, he called to Jake, "Just...keep your eyes closed." Tyler: Holding the pair or orange pair he looked to Jacob, "You don't have to do this, I can handle this on my own." Jake: "Okay?" he kepy his eyes closed. Ganymede: Ganymede becomes irritated and vanishes the Sudoku book. "Okay that's it, ya'll need to keep your eyes open. Just watch your friend and close your yappers. You've got five pairs to go, kid. Jake: "Are you sure I need to open my eyes?" Jacob: Putting his clothes back on, he looked to Jake, "I wouldn't push him any more...he may be a minor god, but he's still a god nonetheless..." The son of Nike gave Tyler a thumbs up. Tyler: Feeling reassured, Tyler slips on the orange briefs and shows them off to Ganymede, "You like?" Jake: Hd sighed heavily and finally opened his eyes, finding Tyler in orange briefs. "They're cool?" Tyler: He smiled and did a small spin for Jake and Jacob, but the dread of having to switch again started to settle in again. Walking over to the desk he picked up the yellow pair of briefs. Jake: "You can do it Tyler!" he encouraged. Tyler: Taking a deep breath, Tyler pulls down the orange briefs, pauses for second, then starts to put on the next ones. As he pulls them on, the son of Iris feels more skin exposed to the air. Ganymede wasn't kidding when he said that they'd get more revealing. Jacob: He looked to the minor god, "He at least gets to keep the underwear right?" Ganymede: "Of course! I wouldn't have it any other way. Wear them and remember me fondly." Tyler: Oh, I'm going to remember this for sure...just not sure it'll be for the same reason as you will. He thought to himself as he did another spin before picking up the leaf-green briefs. The previous three had cloth that went around the waist while this one only had the elastic going around as the front and back covered him, leaving his thighs fully exposed. Sighing, he pulled the yellow one off and stepped into the next pair. Jake: "Although green is my fav color, I guess the yellow one were better..." Jacob: "I wouldn't mind a pair of them for myself," Jacob mused, "How do they feel Tyler?" Tyler: He did a small turn, "They're a bit snug, but I guess I can't complain." He then looked at Ganymede, "It seems a bit of coincidence that you just happen to have briefs in the colors of the rainbow for the son of the rainbow goddess..." Ganymede: Ganymede winks. "Maybe I just wanted to have a lot of choices for the underwear?" Jacob: He doubted it, but kept his mouth shut. Tyler: Pulling the green ones off, he walked over to the cyan pair and put them on, and Tyler could tell that there were starting to near the thongs that he had seen on display when they had entered. Starting to think that Ganymede is doing this just for his own entertainment. Don't think that these can 'only be worn by the least willing', these fit way to well for that. Jake: "You really think he planned this?" Jacob: He whispers to Jake, "Well, Tyler has a point. It just lines up too well. Seven colors of the rainbow, seven pairs. Also, if he was planning on doing this to either one of us, we wear about the same size; Tyler though wears a smaller size than us, so it looks like he specifically picked Tyler." He looked at Tyler's face that had a bit of an frustrated look on his face, "I think Tyler can handle this on his own though." Jake: "Yeah he is a big boy. How many are left?" Jacob: "He's on cyan, so two more." Part of him was curious to see what the last pair would be, but at the same time, he'd rather it be him having to do this than Tyler. Tyler: He does a spin, keeping his cheeks together to keep the cloth that connected the front to the back from sliding into his crack, "One more before the photoshoot Ganymede. Your camera ready?" The son of Iris' voice was line with a bit of annoyance. Ganymede: Ganymede scoffs. "My camera is always ready. Is your self-esteem ready?" Jake: He looked at his nails. He had cut one. Crap he thought. As soon as he heard Ganymede, he kept looking at his nails, and spoke nonchalantly "I gotta give it to Ganymede, you got burnt..." Jacob: He had to admit that the god did manage to get Tyler with that. Tyler: Hastily taking off the cyan pair and puts on the indigo ones. Eager to get this over with, the son of Iris doesn't give too much thought to the thong-like underwear as he does a spin. "It's more than ready. What do you plan to do with these pictures Ganymede? Don't think you can exactly use to sell them more underwear." He doesn't wait for answer before slipping out of the indigo pair before putting on the violet pair which can only be described as a having just strings connecting everything, save for the front panel that provides modesty. The son of Iris is tired of having Ganymede jerking him around. The sooner he can get this over, the better; this had gone from humiliating to infuriating. Jake: "So... Now that he has tried them all, could you give us the info, pleaseeee?" he made his doggie face which worked almost always. Although he knew it would probably not work with the God, it was probably worth a shot to make him pity them or even feel slightly moved. Jacob: "Yeah," Jacob agreed, "I mean, he is a minor after all. I doubt that you're going to trade those pictures with the other Olympians." Tyler: The son of Iris's annoyance broke momentarily for him to blush at the though of pictures of him in this underwear floating around Mt. Olympus. Great...what would mom think? Ganymede: "All in good time. And don't worry, I won't be showing these beauties to any of the Olympians. Although... I could probably use them to blackmail Iris into doing me some favors." Jake: He clicked his tongue and remained silent. Jacob: He held his tongue, but that was low, even for the cupbearer to the gods. Tyler: It was one thing for Ganymede to humiliate him in front of his friends, but to use him as blackmail for his mother? That was crossing the line to him. Boiling over with anger, he hitsGGa his limit. He doesn't notice it, but it looks as if he skin peels away, revealing a shimmering rainbow form in his place, staring Ganymede down. "Leave my mother OUT OF THIS!" Jacob: Surprised that this small demigod could pack such a bang, Jacob actually stumbles backwards in his chair to the floor OOC: Don't worry, I have Tyler's poweJrs unlocked from Adopt-a-Newb Jake: "Tyler. Calm. Down." Jake ordered, sending a wave of pheromones to distract Tyler from his infuriated state. "Can't you see it? He's trying to test us all. Especially you. He's pushing your buttons, watching when you're calm and when you implode. It's a test, I suppose."Tyler: He whipped his head to Jake when the scent of burnt vanilla and chocolate reach hi nose, "The test was to pry me out of my comfort zone, and I think he achieved that." His attention went back to Ganymede, "You still want your picture?" Ganymede: "You look good all sparkly and angry, Skittles. Nah. You've passed the test. Well done. Tyler: He nodded, "If so, what can you tell us about Nove's location?" He took a step, leaving a burnt footstep in his wake. Jacob: He peered up from his chair he had been using as cover to see Tyler asking for the answers. He looked to Jake, "H...has he ever done this before?" Jake: "Not really" he whispered back "I've seen other children of Iris do it though..." He spoke nonchalantly. Jacob: "He will be able to turn back...right? Walking around New York with a human kaleidoscope who leaves scorched footprints will get attention..." Jake: "Besides that the mist would help us, heck yeah, he can turn back whenever he like to. He's probably just doing a short tantrum." Ganymede: "Well, while Skittles has his moment, Let me tell you both that you want to head for Gyan-Ville, Delaware. Ol' Himeros will meet you there. Now scat! I've got some servants coming over to help me open my store, and I won't have my grand premiere delayed. Oh and by the way, watch out for the cops." Jacob: "Cops?" He didn't get a chance to react as something was going on with Tyler. Tyler: After the god had given them the information they had needed, the son of Iris decided that he could calm down. As he took deep breaths the vibrant colors drained from his skin, but so did the normal color of his flesh. Feeling light-headed, he collapsed to the ground, moaning. Jake: "Tyler?" He took Tyler carefully and swung him over his shoulder with almost no effort. "You feeling okay?" Tyler: He held his stomach, "My stomach doesn't feel too good...and I'm sleepy..." Tyler says as he starts to nod off. Jacob: He gets up and starts to gather up the brief that Tyler had tried on, including his original pair. Snatching a 'Ganymede Secret' bag and puts the pairs into it. Going over to Jake and Tyler, "Let's get him dressed, I don't want to overstay our welcome. Also, how do we get to Delaware?" Jake: He sneaked in his own pair into the bag. "Not sure... Maybe by a bus?" Jacob: He snatched a few fashion jocks for himself too, "Well, before we do, Tyler needs to rest up. Come on, hold him while I get his jeans back on." Jacob grabbed Tyler's jeans and held them open for Jake. Jake: The son of Eros swiftly inserted the kid into the jeans. "There we go... Now pass me the shirt." Jacob: He handed Jake the shirt, "I'll take his blades, both sica and skates." He picked them up and looked to him, "Back door? I'm sure we could relieve Ganymede of a few more pairs if we leave that way." Jacob gives him a sly grin. Jake: "Why not?" he said as he put Tyler's shirt on. Jacob: He grabs a few larger bags, "I'm thinking we get a few a souvenirs for Nove and Miller...let's go before Ganymede finds out we're still here." Jake: "Ok, ok." he said as he walked towards the back door, grabbing several pieces of underwear in his way. Jacob: He starts filling his bag with various kinds of underwear, briefs, jocks, thongs, and a few rather exotic kinds. As they reach the back door, Jacob gets it, "Where should we go to wait for Tyler to wake up? A passed out 12 year old will get attention, even if he isn't over the rainbow." Jacob: He nods and leads the way to a bus station bench, "You have the ambrosia?" He looked both ways to make sure no nosy mortals were listening in. Jake: "Oh, yes." he fished some out of his pockets "Open Tyler's mouth." Jacob: He opened Tyler's mouth for him, "Careful, don't cause him to choke." Jake: "Don't worry, I won't" Jake said as he dissolved the ambrosia in his hands and then fed it to Tyler carefully. Tyler: As Tyler is fed the ambrosia, his eye flicker open. "Why does it feel like I'm looking through a kaleidoscope? So many colors..." He shifts a bit to stretch, "W...what happened?" Jacob: He breathes a sigh of relief when he sees Tyler wake up, "You turned into a living rainbow and got Ganymede to give us the info. Not too sure how much he'll appreciate you leaving burn marks in his floor though."
Jake: "He'll figure something out. Meanwhile, we need to head to Delaware." Tyler: Tyler tilted his head, "Um...I really don't want to walk all the way to Delaware...any ideas?" Jake: "I offered to go in a bus." Tyler: "That would be nice...but do we have the cash to do that?" Tyler asks, "I mean, isn't that why we walked to Times Square in the first place?" Jacob: The son of Nike nodded in agreement. Jake: He smirked. "Of coure the handsomest son of Eros thought about bringing cash, but I wasn't dumb enough to spend it all on a walk we could easily do in less than two hours." he winked at Jacob as he clicked his tongue. Tyler: He breathed a sigh of relief, "So, what are we waiting for then?" He slides off Jake's lap and stretches. "What's with the bags?" Tyler noticed the filled 'Ganymede Secret' bags. Jacob: "Erm..." He moved the bag slightly out of sight, "Gifts from Ganymede...just more underwear, that's all." Jake: He nodded nervously. "Yep. Just... Gifts?" Tyler: He nodded and laced up his skates, "Okay. Where in Delaware are we going to be heading, and wJachere's the bus station?" Jake: "Ganymede said something 'bout a Gyan-Ville." he muttered as he looked for any signs of the station until he saw the station, three blocks or two away. "... and the bus station is right over there." he exaggerated to 'r' for a comic purpose. Tyler: Nodding, he gingerly bladed towards the bus station ahead of the others. Jacob: "Hey, slow down Tyler!" Jacob called after him, getting of and chasing the son of Iris. Jake: He ran after Tyler until he was at his side. "Hey! Wait for us next time..." Tyler: Rolling to a stop at a crosswalk, he looks to them, "Sorry, I just want to get away from Ganymede." Jake: "Well, it's not like he'll follow you all the way to the bus! Or Delaware for that matter." Tyler: He closed his body language, "I...just don't want to lose it again. When I was in that form, I had just lost it...it scared me." Jake: He nodded. "CHildren of Eros have a similar power, and the first time that that happened to me, I did get pretty scared. You just need to learn how to control your powers and you'll be fine. Ok, champ?" he gently ruffled Tyler's hair brotherly. Tyler: He gave Jake a hopeful smile and nodded. Jacob: "So, those bus tickets then?" Jacob asks before gesturing them on. Jake: "We'll see if we can get by without using money..." he smirked as he looked at all the ticket booths, there were just males. Damnit. he thought, then he had an idea. As he got close to the three booths, he released a very, very strong wave of pheromonal hormones so that if any of the guys wasn't straight would directly look at him in the way Jake was used to be looked at by most women. Tyler: As the wave hits him, he shudders and leans against a wall for support. Jacob: The pheromones hit his nose, he curls his toes and tries not to stare at Jake Booth Cashier: The cashier in the middle had been bored out of his mind all day, but when the scent of pomegranate and strawberries hit his nose, he looked up and saw an attractive guy walking his way. Today just got a whole lot better... Jake: The son of Eros walked toward the one who looked up and started talking. "Hey there..." he winked as he leaned into the booth, making his whole face visible and close to the cashier. "Do you think that you could probably help me?" he whispered seductively as he put his thumb on his lower lip. Booth Cashier: The guy behind the booth smiled at Jake, "That depends, what do you need help with?" Jake: "Well, my information is worth only if you promise to agree." he winked again while smiling charmingly, but then he faked a confused look. "Are you sure you are even worth my time? You're just delaying me. Should I go to the booth next to yours?" Booth Cashier: He quickly sat upright, he didn't want to loose this handsome looking catch, "No, no, I'll help you in anyway I can." You never know when or how favors could be repayed. Jake: "Okay. Looks like you are totally worth it." Jake made a seductive faceas he faked to soak in and smirk at the booth cashier. "I need three bus tickets for Delware. As soon as possible." Booth Cashier: He starts to process the tickets, "So, what can I get in return for doing you this favor?" Jake: "Gimme your nummber. Taking you out is much more better than three insignificant pieces of paper, isn't it." he winked. "Besides, I'm someone who likes things fast... if y'know what I mean." Booth Cashier: The cashier's eyes lit up as he grabbed a small scrap of paper as the tickets printed, "You got yourself a deal handsome." He slide his number to Jake, "Call me when you get back from your trip to Delaware." Jake: "Sure will, babe." He winked one more time, and then walked toward his friends. He saw the time for the tickets, The departure wa in 20 minutes. We need to hurry he thought' as he showed the tickets to Tyler and Jacob "And that's how we do it in Texas..." Tyler: He smiles, "When do we leave?" Jacob: He gave Jake a look, "What did you tell that guy?" Jake: "We leave in 20 minutes, so let's hurry. Oh and nothing important went out of my mouth... just sons of Eros' stuff." he shrugged. "You do owe me one though, I'll need to go on a gay date when we come back. And I'm not gay or bi, so it'll be weird and what comes next. On the other hand, we didn't pay for the tickets..." Tyler: "Don't look at me..." Tyler said, "I'm too young. Looks that favor falls on you Jacob." Jacob: He shrugged, "I guess, depends on what you'll be asking me to do." Jake: "Nevermind. I'll go. No biggie, right?" an awkward silence invaded the conversation. "R-right?" Jacob: "I guess...." he shrugged, "Let's worry about this after we rescue Nove, okay?" Jake: "Sure. Then let's get heading to Delaware." |
Delaware
Jake: As the bus slowed down until a final stop in the Delaware's station, Jake got up and motioned his friends to do the same thing as he started heading towards the bus door.
Tyler: Yawning awake, the son of Iris had taken a nap on the bus. Turns out waking up super early and turning into a living rainbow can take a lot out of you. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he followed Jake off the bus.
Jacob: Having turned the 'Ganymede Secret' bags inside-out to hide the logo (he didn't want to know what the mortals saw through the Mist. Three guys traveling together with several 'Victoria Secret' bags?), he carries the bags and follows the other two off the bus, "So...where to now? All Ganymede said was for us to go meet Himeros and something about the police."
Tyler: "I could try to Iris-Message him if you want. It worked with Ganymede."
Jake: "Then we should give it a shot again. I'm just not so sure about how'll our meeting with him be. I mean talking to Ganymede was already awkward, now to talking to the God of sexual DESIRE and PLEASURE? I can't even imagine it. I hope that being his nephew will help."
Jacob: He chuckled a small bit, "Maybe he could help you with that 'date' you have coming up."
Tyler: He shuddered at the thought, begging that he wouldn't get picked on again. Gesturing with his hands, he made another small rainbow, about the size of an iPad between his hands, "Mom, if you could, can you please show us Himeros?"
Jake: The son of Eros waited patiently for the response of the rainbow goddess.
Himeros: "You called...." Himeros answers. His bare chest is exposed, but the rest of his body is covered by the satin sheets around him. He has a glass of wine in one hand, and a romance novel in the other. "I heard you're a bad boy, I wanna......" He describes several acts in detail, before realising that this wasn't a sexline. "Crap. Wrong number. So, what can I do for you kids?"
Tyler: The son of Iris blinked and stared at the image, deciding that maybe Jacob and Jake should handle this....he might have to ask Jake for an explanation later about what Himeros had described.
Jacob: The memory of him making out with Nove rocketed back to his mind as he saw Himeros. Managing to pull himself back together, he managed to look to Jake then back to the god, "Erm...Himeros, we're on a quest to find our friend and we were wondering if we could by chance meet up with you to discuss it."
Himeros: "Oh...." He gives Jacob a bright smile. Himeros looks down to his book. "I'm not sure where I can fit you in. Ever since I decided to give that 50 shades series a whirl, I've been innundated with calls, and well I'm a people person." He shrugs his shoulders, and flips through the pages of his book.
Jake: "Wait, wait, wait- Fit him in? What do you exactly mean by that?" As a son of Love, he had a pretty good idea of wha he was talking about, but he didn't want to jump to conclusion, and he definitely hoped he was wrong about this one.
Jacob: "Erm...I meant the three of us..." He quickly added before Himeros could jump to conclusions, "Ganymede sent us to meet with you about our friend. He said you'd have information?"
Tyler: With all the intimate details and suggestions flying around, he thought it was best to stay quiet until the Iris-Message was over, then start to ask about what he'd been hearing.
Himeros: "Oh..." Himeros closes his book and takes a sip of wine. "There's no need to worry. I don't bite, unless you want me to..." He puts the wineglass down. "I remember. Son of Apollo if I'm correct; he's quite handsome." Himeros smirks. "I'll meet you at this location." He passes them a note which includes directions to a nearby beach. "Shouldn't be too hard for three strapping young lads to follow." He winks at Jacob.
Jake: He took the mote and skimmed through it before looking back to Himeros. "Thank you Himeros. Looking forward to meet you." Jake smiled genuinely. After all, who doesn't like to meet his godly uncle?
Jacob: Blushing, he nodded, "Thank you Himeros, we'll be there as soon as we can."
Tyler: Still being quiet, he nodded his thanks before turning off the Iris-message. Turning to Jake he tilted his head, "Jake...about those think Himeros said we the Message was first connected..."
Jake: Jake nodded as his face turned bright red. "Mhmmm? What- What about them?" Jake tugged at his own shirt collar in discomfort as his eyes looked at the nowhere in particular, not being able to face Tyler right now.
Tyler: Maybe I should wait...Jake already has enough to worry about with meeting Himeros. Tyler assumed that since Eros and Himeros dealt with love, that Jake was somehow related to the next god they were going to meet.
Jacob: Not even the son of Nike had understood all of what the god had said, but now wasn't exactly the time to get curious. Looking at the note, he said aloud, "Well, looks like a street address, let's get-" Before he could finish, his stomach growled, "...or we could stop for a bite to eat."
Tyler: "But...I'm not hungry...." Tyler replied tilting his head. He was already getting ready to change into his skates.
Himeros: There's still some static from the Iris message. "You wouldn't keep your uncle waiting, would you?" Himeros smirks. "I'm looking forward to seeing you boys, especially you." He winks at Jacob as the message ends.
Jacob: His face turned a deep shade of crimson. Nove's make-out session was now back in the forefront of his mind.
Tyler: He closed the Iris message and looked up to the sky, "Thanks mom."
Jake: He sighed. "Ok. SO now that the message is officially over, do you wanna go for a quick Sub or should we get going, meet Himeros and then have lunch?"
Jacob: "I guess I could go for something to eat." Jacob said, happy the message was over as well. Looking over to Tyler he forced a smile, "That's because we had to feed you a bit of ambrosia before we left New York. You weren't looking too hot after returning to the land of the flesh & blood."
Tyler: With his skates on, he lightly wheeled back and forth, "Ohh...."
Jake: "Yeah. Maybe we could go for a Subway and Jacob and I could eat it there, as for you, we could buy it and yo'd eat it later on when you are actually hungry..."
Tyler: He bladed around them a bit, "I can eat, just nothing big." He smiled, feeling free again on wheels, "Let's go."
Jake: "Ok. Who leads the way?"
Jacob: The son of Nike stepped up and lead the three of them to Subway. The three of them enjoyed a quick bite to eat and as soon as they were done, they headed back out for Himeros.
They should hear someone singing from the nearby beach. This is likely to be a voice that the demigods recognise, either a loved one or somebody that they fancied in the past, these songs should compell the heroes to come near. When they arrive at the beach, they should see something different between them.
Jake: Suddenly he heard a voice that resembled that of Aria's. A lot. Maybe too much. He continued walking but the voice seemed to become more and more familiar until Jake was sure that it would need to be Aria. But, how could that be possible? This quest was supposed to be secret. No one had approved it, just Eros. And it even wasn't an approval. More like an order? Jake was getting lost in his thoughts and as he did so, his legs just obliged him to walk towards the soft song of Aria. The son of Eros didn't even notice this change at all. As he got closer, the voice seemed to become more and more beautiful. Could Aria even sing this majestically? All he could think of was: How does Aria even know I'm here?
Sirens: They continue to sing, luring the campers towards a secluded spot on the beach. Fake Aria sings for a moment, before letting out a scream. "JAKE! HELP ME!" She screams. He would see her, wounded, fighting off a bunch of harpies with beams of moonlight. Tyler should see his friend Karen, asking him to come sketch the lovely sunset with her. Meanwhile, Jacob would see two handsome male cops, dressed in what almost looks like bondage gear with a pair of handcuffs. They beckon him towards him. "I think we need to do a strip search officer...."
Tyler: "K...Karen?" Tyler was confused at how the head of Harmonia Cabin was here in Delaware. Taking a few steps forward, he frowned, realizing he didn't have his sketchbook or pencils, "I don't have any drawing materials, but I can watch."
Jacob: Jacob looked wide eyed at the officers, "Erm...can I ask what for?" He glanced both ways to Tyler and Jake, but it was if they weren't noticing...
Siren 1: "Um yeah, it's me." Fake Karen smiles nervously. "I heard you were all out looking for Nove, so I thought I would come and help. But I got distracted by the sunset." She says calmly, gesturing towards her sketchbook and pencils. "Look at that sunset, wouldn't it be great to mix that colour in a painting."
Siren 2: The two officers smirk. "Now, we wouldn't want a nice lad like you to end up in trouble." They say, passing him their I.D which reads "Federal <censored> Inspector. "Please take a seat. We tend to take a hard line with those who don't follow the law..."
Jake: Jake's eyes turned gloom. Aria had somehow taught him how to chnge his personality at times. Now he did it even unconsciously. Jake ran towards "Aria" and stripped off his necklace, turning it into his bow and arrow, quickly knocking two arrows at the time and trying to shoot them towards all the harpies he saw. "Aria, you use your knives! You must be better with them at this moment!"
Tyler: He goes to sit down, but then remembers, I just had lunch...how can it be sunset already? Placing a hand on one of his sicatars, he raises an eyebrow, "Karen...it's lunchtime. How is the sunsetting already?"
Jacob: Victory's Wrangler fiddles with his necklace, pretty sure that the 'Federal <censored> Inspection' wasn't a real thing... "I can take care of myself thanks..."
Siren 1: "You must have spent ages in that subway...." Fake Karen says, shrugging her shoulders. "Please can we just sit down and enjoy it?"
Siren 2: "Really?" The officers seem somewhat amused. "You know, this is among the weirder cases that we've had to deal with." The second officer grins, and takes out a riding crop, the type commonly used to direct horses. "I think you're in need of a spanking..."
Siren 3: The arrows seem to fly straight through the harpies, which aren't actually there. Fake Aria screams once again, evidently in a panic. "I'm running out of knives..." She takes a few out of her pocket, and throws them at the non-existent harpies, moving closer to Jake. Her back is slashed, revealing a wound. "I can't hold them off for much longer..."
Jake: Panicked, Jake continued shooting his arrows at the fake harpies before noticing Aria's back wound, "Aria!" He put his bow on his back , right over the quiver and noticed that the harpies weren't actually hurting him. This seemed a bit fishy to Jake, as they only seemed to hurt Aria. "Do you need some ambrosia?"
Jacob: "Sorry officer," He says, activating his bow and nocking an arrow back, "But I'm a bit old for that." He lets the arrow fly, aiming at the officer's feet, "Looks like I'll have to resist arrest or something."
Tyler: His hand doesn't leave the handle of his blade, "I doubt it...we have a meeting with Himeros we can't afford to miss." As he says this something else dawns on him, "Karen...Ganymede sent us to Delaware...how did you know where to find us?
Siren 3: "Please, I'll try hold them off." With a final blow, Fake Aria sends a minature model of the moon crashing down on the remaining harpies, yet she still holds the knives in her hands. She gives Jake a wicked smile, as the moon turns blood red and throws a couple of knives for his legs, trying to incapacitate him.
Siren 1: Karen leans forward, like she's about to divulge some necessary information. Suddenly, a beak protrudes out of her nose, and she lunges forward, trying to grasp Tyler's arm with her beak and drag him towards the ground.
Siren 2: "Hey. This is your fantasy...." The first siren is hit by the arrow. However it hits between the beast's claws. Shrieking, it snaps the arrow between its toes and flaps its wings wildly. The second siren walks forward, smirking as she lashes her whip, aiming to strike Jacob in the face.
Jake: "What the-" he seems confused to see Aria this way, but it hits him that it is most definitely not Aria. He jumped in a swift motion and as he did so, large white wings sprouted from his back. Flying upwards a bit, to try to distract whatever this thing was, Jake felt cheated, and thinking about Aria, he focused a beam on each of his hands of his love to Aria towards the fake. Releasing them, hopefully at least one would hit the fake Aria and burn the area.
Siren 3: The knives luckily miss Jake, as he jumps into the air. Unfortunately, the siren can fly too, extending its wings. Fake Aria takes a slight burn on her right foot from the laser beams, however she launches herself into the air and flies towards the son of Eros, preparing for aerial combat. As soon as she's closed the gap, she swipes her claws for his wings, trying to drag him down.
Tyler: Finally pulling his first sicatar, he aims it at 'Karen's beak. "Not Karen!" kicking back, he grabs his other blade, hoping to get it before the beak reaches his arm.
Jacob: Using his powers, Jacob rolls out of the way and fires an arrow at the whip-wielding one, "How many of these things are there?" Looking over, he sees Jake and Tyler dealing with feathered fiends, Okay...at least four including Starsky and Husk here.
Jake: Crap. Jake Thought. He dodged the attack as he side-stepped (side-flew?) but unluckily, while doing so, the siren's claws slashed at his hip and he winced in pain. Trying not to look at the blood that was trickling from the wound, Jake got his bow from his back and flew backwards, nocking an arrow towards the flying monster. Since he knew that the siren wouldprobably think he'd shoot at her wings, he instead shot his arrow at the siren's lower torso, which, if the blow connected positively, would make the area bleed in moderate amounts.
OOC: Wait, monsters bleed, right?
Siren 1: The Siren takes the kick, scampering away. Tyler still hasn't done that much damage. She flies towards the son of Iris, swooping downwards to try and gain a surprise attack, her claws tearing towards his arm in an attempt to hook around his weapon.
Siren 2: As the arrow hasn't been targeted, the whip-wielding harpy is able to deflect it with her wings. The arrow tears across her right wing, leaving a trail of golden ichor dripping on the floor. The second harpy swoops for Jacob's head, trying to claw away at his eyes, before he can nock another arrow.
Siren 3: The scent of human blood drives the siren ever more ravenous. She tries to gnaw on the son of Eros, like he's some form of chew-toy when an arrow sticks itself into her hide. As the hide is fairly thick, it does not penetrate all the way through, however she is slightly wounded. Fortunately for her, the arrow has not had chance to gain much momentum from such a point-blank range. She tosses another two knives, targeting his shoulders, as she banks to the left to avoid any more hits.
Jake: Before more energy is drained from him, the son of Eros lowers to the ground and his wings contract to his back. He backs up once again and with his best aim, he nocked an arrow at one of the connections between the wings and the torso of the siren. Quickly releasing the arrow, he quickly shot a volley of three other arrows at the left and right side of the siren so that at least 1-2 arrows would hit. Jake brushed off some sweat off his left temple with his right forearm.
Siren 3: As Jake drops his wings, the knives sail over his head and stick into a nearby signpost. She banks to the right, moving rapidly to try and gain the advantage, when one of his arrows hits her right wing. This causes her to cry out in pain, her momentum working against her, as she turns too hard and crashes into the nearby signpost, dazed and confused, before it explodes into dust.
Tyler: The claw manages to grasp his arm, the claws sinking into Tyler's skin. Screaming in pain, the son of Iris lashes out with the other blade, aiming for the siren's appendage that was gripping into his arm. As the blade makes it's arc, a faint rainbow trail follows it. While he had practiced fighting before, he never had come to any real physical harm, until now that is.
Jacob: Narrowly missing the second Siren, Jacob loads two more arrows and fires them at the siren's back. As soon as the leave the bow, the son of Nike breaks the bow down into the dual blades and charges at the whip-wielding Siren, "You have the right to remain dust!"
Siren 2: The second siren overbalances, taking two arrows in the back, as she misses the son of Nike. A moment later, the monster explodes into golden dust. As the second siren falters, the first one darts to the side and cracks her bullwhip, towards Jacob's right arm, in an attempt to catch onto his weapon and yank it away, before he can hit her.
Siren 1: Frantically, the siren grasps onto the weapon with all her might. She claws away at Tyler's arms, only to misjudge that he had another weapon. The sica slashes deep into her arm, almost amputating her wings from her arm. The rainbow trail follows, searing her flesh, and causing extreme pain. "You wouldn't do this to Karen..." She says, trying to sweep his legs from underneath him with her claws.
Jacob: The whip lashes around his arm, causing him to loose blood in his one arm. Slashing with the other, he cuts the whip with the other blade. Before the cut whip can get out of his reach, Jacob uses his now free arm to grab it and using his powers, pulls hard on it to drag the siren into his blade.
Tyler: "You aren't Karen!" Tyler screams, "Karen is kind!" He swings again the blade back, the sica portion of the blade now doing it's work. Tears that were forming were being vaporized by the heat of the rainbows.
Jake: Still with some energy left, Jake yanked one of the two throwing knives on the signpost away before running towards towards Tyler immediately, also feeling a bit dissapointed for himself by not going to help Jacob, who probably needed more help. But he didn't even watch enough to know. With a pang of guilt as he ran toward the back of the siren, he used his aim for the bow and arrow to try and help him with the throwing knives. JAke aimed to the back of the siren carefully and then he threw the knife. Aria had taught him some lessons about throwing knives, so he kind of knew how to properly use them, however his skills for them weren't even as half as good as that of the bow and arrow, so the chances of the knife succesfully hitting the siren weren't very high.
Sirens: The remaining sirens are quickly finished off by an arrow, a sica, or a throwing knife to the leg. They shriek and explode into dust, and there's no trace of their existence except for a small sign. "Siren Beach." As the party recover from their wounds, and start to cool down, another siren swoops down to attack them, only to be killed by an arrow, shaped like a love-heart. There's a loud clapping sound, and Himeros walks onto the soft sands. "I think you all did quite valiantly. They were only low-level sirens, not like the ones who would make you want to drown, but enough to give some interesting insights." Himeros winks at Jacob. He looks like the hero of a romance novel, his chest partially exposed, and he holds a bow in his right hand.
Tyler: The son of Iris wasn't paying much attention to the god who had just walked into their presence; instead he had dropped his blades to cup his arm that was still bleeding from the talons digging into it, fighting back tears from the pain.
Jacob: To Jacob, Himeros looked like that Fabio guy who you'd see on the romance novels of middle-aged women, and while he had to admit he was good looking, the sound of Tyler crying in pain took priority, "That's nice and all, but we have an injured friend."
Jake: He was too shocked to see Himeros here. He was the closest thing he had to his father and he couldn't do anything. He had never seen his dad but this was close enough for Jake to let a tear leave his eye. His mouth spoke before he could react. "Uncle?"
Himeros: "You didn't bring ambrosia?" Himeros raises an eyebrow and tosses some down to the heroes. "Should be enough. I wouldn't want my little nephew to get hurt." Grinning, he swoops down and ruffles Jake's hair. "It's quite touching actually. You're doing the family proud..." He says, his bow transforms into a dashing rapier, kept at his side. "You handled yourselves much better than I expected. Though your vision made me blush...." He says, glancing at Jacob.
Tyler: Sniffling he takes a piece and starts to slowly eat it, the taste of sprinkled donuts melting in his mouth. "Th..thank you Himeros." He sniffles as the gashes start to close.
Jacob: His face grows hot with embarassment when Himeros brings up what he saw, "Nonsense...you're just saying that." He honestly didn't want Jake to find out what the sirens had appeared to him as.
Jake: "Thank you..." Jake blushed as Himeros ruffled his hair. "Wait- what did you see Jacob?" The son of Eros, and right now, nephew of Himeros, asked.
Jacob: Not wanting to humilate himself, he lies through his teeth, "Two models I used to crush when I was growing up. Dad didn't get much for catalogs, so I had to make due with what I had." While he said this, his mind was feeling a bit nervous for lying directly to a god's face, Not sure if Jake will buy it, but I know for sure Himeros won't
Tyler: His wounds healed, he had put his blades away and was now rubbing at the dried blood trying to get it off, not paying attention to the older demigod's conversation.
Himeros: "You're welcome. She was particularly nasty. I think her name was Buttercup..." Himeros speculates, giving Tyler a bright smile. Himeros paces down the beach. "Lay off on the pheromones kid. They'll get you in trouble, or not." He smirks, before returning to Jacob. "I know what happened on film night." The God of Sexual Desire says, seemingly displeased. "You're a plucky one to lie to a god. But I can't give you the information till you spill the beans...." He whips out a notebook, and a pen to scribble down notes.
Jake: "Spill the beans? Lie to a God? Jacob, there's no need to lie. Tyler and I are your friends. Maybe your vision was funny but don't be ashamed of sharing it... It won't hurt. If he's asking us for what you saw just so we can continue looking for Nove it is more than worth it, I believe."
Jacob: He felt a bit ashamed, "You...you're gonna want to cover Tyler's ears then." He said to the others, it didn't matter who covered them.
Jake: His look became from comfortable to shocked in a split second. "Okay..." He quickly stepped towards Tyler and covered bothe his ears with Jake'd bigger hands. "We're ready." What are the those beans he's gonna spill? Jake thought
Tyler: He tilted his head in confusion, but didn't complain.
Jacob: Taking a deep breath, he explains how the sirens appeared to him as the sexy male cops wielding whips and riding crops. With a face scarlet red, he even mentioned how they wanted to do a 'strip search'.
Himeros: "That's a good start...." He smirks, his quill scribbling down the details on the notepad. "This will make excellent material for my romance novel. Please continue..." Himeros asks the three, using a hint of charmspeak to pressure them to do it, but not enough to force it.
Jake: "That's interesting Jacob. I just saw Aria. Does this mean you are gay Jacob? I can't say I didn't expect it but-"
Jacob: "I guess so." he admits, "I guess I never noticed, but after Nove made out with me a bit after the movie night, I guess it kinda woke something up in me."
Himeros: Shrugging his shoulders, he continues to write down the juicy details in his notebook. "And how does that make you feel?"
Jacob: "Well, when we were making out, I was enthralled by the feel of it all." Jacob explained, but after we left Ganymede...I've been feeling a bit guilty, as if what I did was wrong." He looked up at the god, "But it felt so right."
Jake: "You made out with Nove? When? Yesterday?"
Jacob: He turned to Jake, "Yeah, he caught me on my way back to my cabin. We talked for a bit, then he kissed me, then he got...handsy."
Jake: "Define handsy, please?" Jake raised an eyebrow as he continued covering Tyler's ears.
Jacob: "Hands under shirt...hands in shorts..." Jacob was very embarrassed about this, nothing like the bold cocky self he usually was.
Jake: Jake had a lopsided smile. Nove, REALLY? "I'ts okay Jacob. I kinda already knew you weren't straight." He smiled and went to hug Jacob tightly but in a friendly way. "It is also very nice to know that someone else in this world finds me attractive..." Jake teased while laughing.
Jacob: "Jake, there's not a guy in camp who doesn't think you're not good looking." He reminds him, hugging back.
Tyler: His ears finally uncovered, he looks to Himeros, "Did I miss something?"
Jake: "Awww, I know... And kind of. I guess if Jacob wants to, he can summarize the conversation."He turns to Jacob and mutters "Without graphics, if you mind."
Himeros: Winking, he smiles at the party. "My work here is done." Himeros smiles. "You'll find the next clue in Virginia." He Tyler: "Where are we going then...and how are we getting there?" Tyler asks getting up.folds his arms. "If you ever need advice nephew, then feel free to iris message me." He grins, and looks down to Tyler. "Jacob will fill you in on the rest..." He says, disappearing.
Jake: "Awww, I wanted to hug him..." Jake pouted. He then looked at Jacob "What did he mean by that?"
Tyler: He looks to Jacob to get filled in.
Jacob: The son of Nike explains in a PG manner that he saw two attractive males instead women.
Tyler: Tyler nodded and handed the note to Jacob, "Where are we going in Virginia?"
Jake: "I don't know, he just said: You'll find the next clue in Virginia. Where should we go first?"
Himeros: He suddenly reappears and gives Jake a hug. "Follow the map...." Two pages appear out of his book, written in cursive handwriting. They show a rudimentary map of the state, and have a giant red dot which show where to go.
Jake: A bit surprised, Jake tensed up for a second, but then eased and warmed up to the hug, wrapping his arms around Himeros. "Although I barely know you, I want to take you for everything Himeros. " He hugged the god tightly. "I love you, uncle."
Himeros: "I love you too kid. Now go, your father will kill me if I stay too long....."
Jake: The son of Eros quickly squeezed Himeros once again before pulling back and taking gingerly the two pages that showed the map. "We'll make you two proud. That, I promise." Jake nodded confidently before looking at the others. "Now let's get going, kiddos."
Tyler: "Where are we going then...and how are we getting there?" Tyler asks getting up.
Jacob: "It's starting to get later in the day...we're also going to need a place to sleep in a few hours."
Jake: He looked at the map and pointed at the cross. "Well it's definitely in Virginia. As to specific city, I'm not sure. Maybe we can go to sleep in a motel between here and Virginia if we don't get all the way there by sundown." <Some sweat trickled from Jake's forehead.
Tyler: "Well...how are we getting there? Another train?" Tyler asks, getting on his tiptoes to wipe the sweat off his forehead, "Do we even have enough cash?"
Jake: "I've got cash. But just enough for two or maybe three nights in a cheap motel room. I'd rather not spend it on transport. But if it's totally necessary... WHat do you think, Jacob?"
Jacob: He thought, "Well, depending on how close we are to the boarder, I could use my powers to carry you guys there, but I'd be really tired once we stopped."
Jake: He suddenly had an idea and his face brightened. "Okay. I can fly as well. We could take shifts of carrying the other two members every now and then so we can rest between flights. When we get to Virginia, we'll bothe be exhausted, but it'll be probably sunset. By then we can go to a motel and rest. Have a good night sleep. We're all worn down. We can sleep and be off at sunrise to find whoever we need to find next so he can give us our next clue to Nove, or hopefully even Nove himself... Sounds good? "
Tyler: He nods, "Mom is a messenger, so I should be able to skate really fast if needed, so I can do that Jfor a while if you want."
Jacob: "If you think you can handle it, then I say go for it Ty." He looks up at Jake, "What do you think? It'll be a bit lighter, and if needed, we could pull him along if he wears the skates."
Jake: "Sounds like a plan. Now let's get going..." He sprouted his large light-colored wings from his back and waited for the others to do their respective thing.
Jacob: Sprouting his tawny wings, he hovers a few inches above the ground, "Ready."
Tyler: Sitting down, Tyler takes the most amount of time to switch into his skates. Holding their bags, he looks to the others, "Don't go too fast, I don't know how fast I can skate."
Jake: The son of Eros nodded. "Yeah. I'll try to go at a fair pace. That ok with you Jacob?" He raised an eyebrow at him.
Jacob: He nodded, "Let's get moving so we can find a motel, I don't want to be stuck out in the cold."
Virginia
Jake: After a fair time of flying and skating, the questers were already in Virginia, Jake checked the map and continued flying with his steady pace towards the cross.
Tyler: Having grown tired several miles ago, the son of Iris was being carried by Jacob now. He was trying to keep his eyes awake, but it was getting hard.
Jacob: "I think Tyler's starting to nod off," he calls over to Jake, supporting the younger demigod, "Any chance we could rest for the night and pick up tomorrow? I mean, we don't even know who we're looking for at this point."
Jake: Yawning, Jake nodded. He was extremely tired by now. "I agree with you, let's just find a motel first, okay?"
Jacob: He nodded, swooping down lower to scan for a cheap motel. After a bit of searching, he spies a small motel with a neon 'vacancy' sign. "There, shouldn't cost us too much for the night." Gesturing, he dived down into the alley behind the motel and retracted his wings and yawned.
Jake: Following the son of Nike, Jake flew lower until his feet touched the pavement and right after that, he also retracted his white wings. Jake then walked up to Jacob and hugged him from behind, wrapping his arms around his torso and leaning his head sideways against Jacob's comfortable back. "I am exhausted and really tired Jacob..." He yawned, "Could you carry me all the way to the room?" Jake pleaded in a groggy and tired fashion.
