Urban Arena

Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements

"Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star."
It was night time when he walked into the arena, there was very little clouds in the sky. Tonight the moon is a full moon, no clouds covered it and it glows brightly in the dark sky. Colton smiled, as he knows that tonight will give him more strength than a night with a new moon. He walks into the arena in his Celestial Bronze armor, a Celestial Bronze chest plate, arm guard, and leg guard. In his hands are his Dual Scimitars and a bow along with his quiver of Celestial Bronze arrows. He quickly scans the area, with his photographic memory, he can remember what he sees later int he battle.

At the center of the city is a a park, which has a pond, surrounded by many apartment buildings, some sturdy and some not so much. Across the deserted street is a plaza, the stores are all completely empty except for broken appliances, such as chairs and tables scattered along the floor. Beside the plaza, right across an alleyway is the entrance to a subway station. Trash litters the stairway, the station is pitch black. Up north is a four story department store, it seems sturdy. He also spots a sign, that looks like it's gonna fall any second, saying that the next subway station is 7 blocks away from the one nearby. The outskirts of the city is covered entirely with trees. The streets is dim and dark, the streetlights that used to work, now give of no light at all, the only source of light is the light coming from the full moon.

Character's Powers

Powers of a child of Pandia (3/6/9 Month Powers reached):

Offensive

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to form weapons out of pure moonlight which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it. Non-combative objects can also be made out of this, but cannot generate any electricity as moonlight does not have any working parts.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to focus an intense beam of moonlight which will burn anything it touches.

Defensive

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to create a protective dome of pure solid moonlight which will defend them from attacks for a short time.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to bend the moonlight around them, concealing them for a short time. If the child attacks while in this state, it automatically wears off. So the power is purely defensive.

Passive

  1. Children of Pandia can see perfectly at night as if it were day.
  2. Children of Pandia are innately stronger at night.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to generate moonlight to shine so bright that it can blind the beholders for a short period of time or just light up areas for allies, depending on how bright it is. They can create sources of moonlight from a distance and command them to maintain it’s form for a moderate time, but the light cannot be bright enough to harm anyone’s eyes to exist that long.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to use the gravity pull of the moon to slow down enemies giving them a high chance to avoid an opponent’s attack or prevent an opponent from avoiding one of the user’s attacks.
  3. Children of Pandia are able to telekinetically move water at a high rate, since the moon has power over the tides. The larger amount of water used, the more energy it drains.
  4. Children of Pandia have the ability to Moonlight Travel, to merge with natural moonlight or moonlight they created themselves and teleport to another source of moonlight. The further the distance traveled, the more energy is drained.
  5. As their mother was the goddess of the nourishing dew, children of Pandia have the ability to force the temperature within a 15 meter radius of them to reach dew point, condensing all the atmospheric water vapour into water droplets and drenching those in the vicinity. The user is immune to the attack, but their allies are endangered.

3 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia receive an enhancement in their powers over gravity. They can enchant themselves, others and nearby objects to become detached from gravity for a short time. People who aren’t willingly freed from gravity can only float a few feet into the air, while the user and their allies can completely fly at their own will. Items under the enchantment can also be crushed by intensifying gravity’s hold on them. They cannot use this to perform overwhelming feats such as crushing buildings.

6 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia can turn their moonlight into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence; however, only up to 4 combative/non-combative items or 1 semi-living construct can be conjured at a time and it cannot be larger than roughly 3 times the size of the one that conjured it. Tools may be telekinetically moved by the user’s mind. The longer they maintain combative/non combative items and semi-living constructs, the more it drains their energy, so they are more limited for the time they can keep these things cohesive.

9 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to shed their flesh into pure moonlight, granting them the ability to fly and everything they touch intensely burns. Their existing lunarkinetic abilities are stronger in this state. The longer they maintain this form, the more energy it drains. When they revert back to their original form, they are drained greatly and cannot even move or could even faint from exhaustion.

Traits

  1. Children of Pandia are typically more active during night time especially when the moon is full. Also being in better moods at night and disliking the day.
  2. Children of Pandia often grow up to make great astrologists and enjoy studying constellations.
  3. Children of Pandia have been known to take interest in ayurvedic practices due to its association with astrology.
  4. Children of Pandia nearly always have innate knowledge on the phases of the moon. Ex: They'd be able to tell if the following night will have a full moon and when a new moon will begin.

OOC: Your can't have character taken note of everything in the surrounding just lie Colton have saw since like I describe, it is night time and none of the streetlights are working, the only reason Colton can see it is because he's the son of Pandia, and they can see at night just like they can in the morning and afternoon. It is possible for her to see the areas close by, but farther away, it will be difficult to make things out.

OOC: K o.o.

Fight

Gabrielle: She attempts to cast a state of drunkness upon Colton, hoping to impair his motor skills, then she sheathes her sword and takes out her bow, notching an arrow, then firing at his right, upper thigh twice. She then turns and runs for the plaza, entering a one floor vehicle appliance store. She turns and closes the door behind her. The shop's fairly small, shelves of various mechanical parts run along the walls. There's a counter at the back of the store, no shelves are behind the counter. She runs over to the counter. There's a tank of gasoline almost-empty by her covered by a tarp, and beer bottles and cigarettes littered the space behind the counter, signifying that the cashier was an alcoholic and a smoker. She gets the gasoline tank, and pours the remaining gasoline in one of the beer bottles. She takes a rag that laid next to the cashier and puts it in mouth of the bottle. She finds the cashier's lighter and sits it on the counter; she notches an arrow, aiming at the door, as the windows are too high and small to make an entrance out of.

Colton: He was forced the state of mild drunkness. Although his vision is kind of blurry, he sees two arrow firing at his upper thigh, although he is able to dodge the first arrow by sidestepping when the arrow is coming at him, the second arrow hits his left arm. Blood drips down his wound, resisting the pain, he pulls the arrow out and he rips a piece of his shirt and wraps it around his left arm. His perception is still a little blurry, but the effect is beginning to wear off. But he was able to make out which direction Gabrielle headed. He runs, unable to run completely straight. The state of drunkness starts to lose it's effect. He sheathes his dual Scimitars and he takes out his bow and his quiver of Celestial Bronze Arrows.

Heading over to the plaza, he creates a mirror made of pure moonlight, for defense, just in case Gabrielle is planning to attack him when she spots him. Knowing that she won't be able to see him until he nears the vehicle appliance store due to the darkness of the street, he bends the moonlight around him, concealing him, before walking to the store. He looks inside the window and he sees alcohol bottles and cigarettes littering the floor. he also sees a tank of gasoline on the floor, although it is empty, the remaining few drops of gasoline poured over the floor. On the counter was a beer bottle with a substance that seems to be the gasoline that was from the tank of gasoline, a rag fit into the mouth of the bottle. He suddenly thought of an idea. Knowing that she will be able to escape using the windows or door, he attempts to use the gravity push of the moon to pin Gabrielle to the ground, perhaps preventing her from escaping and disabling her movement for a period of time. He begins to run off before aiming at the bottle of gasoline, focusing an intense beam of moonlight at it, hoping that he would not be caught in the fire or explosion. He hopes that the heat will cause the bottle to expand, thus causing the gasoline to explode, leading to a fire in the vehicle appliance store. He sees a shopping mall in the distance, he heads over there...

Gabrielle: The bolt of light shot at the bottle causes it to ignite in the flames, the counter is soon engulfed in fire conflagration. She fights the sense of being pressed down in place, she manages to shift a bit, lowering her aim, and picking up the bottle and the lighter she had left on the counter. Seconds later, the extra gravity pushing her down fades, and she moves for the side of the counter, which wasn't on fire yet, but it was getting there. By the time she jumped over, the flames had spread; they tongues of flames licked her skin, causing her to wince and fall over to the other side. She runs over to the exit and closes the door behind her, nulling the pain of her burns after out of the building. The shopping mall was right in front of the appliance store, so she attempts to cast a hangover on him, hoping to impair his movements with vomiting nausea and lower his concentration, and ability to utilize his weapons, as tremors/handshaking comes with hangovers

OOC: As you didn't describe whether or not the window was closed, opened, or shattered, your statement of it being "closed" is not valid, as at the moment Colton shot it, the post was written that Colton shot the beam "at the bottle of gasoline", meaning that he most likely realized that the window is opened or else I would have put "at the window, causing the beam to deflect", and remember, Colton can see clearly at night.

OOC: I changed it, but the beam of light wouldn't have made it explode anyway, you fired at the bottle, which would just make it really hot, considering it was heated, but if you wanted to get through the glass and have it ignite, the beam would have to be 1500> Fahrenheit, which is basically the temperature of a pyroclastic flow

OOC: Heat will cause the substance inside the bottle to expand, it may also shatter from something called thermal stress, due to the sudden change of temperature, by the heat of the moonlight beam, the bottle may not be able to withstand the stress and shatter, splashing the gasoline, when heated can cause an explosion, followed by a fire.

OOC: Fixed

Colton: By the time Gabrielle had exited the vehicle appliance store, Colton has already crossed the street and is inside the one floored mall (Since it is just across the street, in front of the vehicle appliance store), out of sight. The mall consists of one floor and an underground parking lot. There is no light illuminating the mall, the only source of brightness is the glow from the full moon. Although it illuminized some areas of the mall, the parts of the mall that are nowhere near the windows and door are pitch black. The interior of the mall is medium sized. In the center of the mall is a food court with trash littering the floor. The stores are completely empty. Looking around, he spots a maintenance room, the door slightly opened. He walks in, locking the door behind him. He sees the air vent chute (OOC: Or whatever it's called ">.<) above. There's an entrance to the chute, big enough for him to fit through. He takes a chair, and pushes it near the entrance; using the chair as a stepping stool, he takes a small leap, fitting himself through the chute. He crawls, quickly and quietly making sure not to make a noise, he crawls to the area near the entrance. He looks down from the fan, getting a perfect view of the area near the entrance, without being able to be seen and allowing him to know when Gabrielle enters the mall...

OOC: Can you give me a sec, might still change it.

OOC: Okay, let me know when you're ready for me to reply

OOC: Ready

GabrielleShe enters the mall, her bow at her side. She's unable to see much of anything, as the only source of light was the moon, though because most of the windows are broken, she can at least make out the silhouettes of various figures. She transforms into a leopard so that she could get a better view, and she could sniff Colton out. It took a sniffs to locate his scent, but she sensed it emanating from ceiling rather than on ground level, she immediately spotted the chute and the light depression in the chute. She transforms back, and takes out three explosive-tip arrows. Using her photographic memory, she fires two arrows at the right and left side of Colton's chute, then at where Colton is; She hopes they would collapse, considering they're weak with age, and they're already supporting Colton's weight.

Colton: When Gabrielle enters the mall, he sees her transform into a leopard, perhaps to use her form's enhanced scent to sniff him out, he notices that due to him staying in the same position of the chute, he left a depression on the chute. He realizes that if Gabrielle notices the depression or scents him out, she'll know the exact location of where he is. So he crawls to the left, looking down he gets a better view of where Gabrielle is from another fan. He knows that Gabrielle won't be able to transform again at this moment into her leopard form to scent him out because of her recent transformation. The chute suddenly shook by a sudden blast caused by Gabrielle explosive-tip arrows. However since he moved away from the position he was at, the blast was not a direct hit. But the metal that was blasted in different directions flew towards him; he uses the mirror made of pure moonlight he conjured earlier to block some of the metal blasted his way. But unfortunately some of the metal hit his arm. But because of the distance he had, it lowered the damage the blast could have done to him. The blast did leave him with some scratches on his left arm though. He takes out his bow and five arrows from his quiver. He shoots five arrows, one by one, through the space in the fan. He uses the gravity pull of the moon to direct each arrow to shoot at Gabrielle in different directions (The left, right, front, back and above), hoping that first, it will confuse Gabrielle about his current position in the chute, and second that at least one arrow will hit her when she's off guard.

GabrielleAn arrow whizzes past her right shoulder, she quickly drops to the ground, but the shoulder coming from the right nicks her upper arm, and the one coming from behind cuts the small of her back. She nulls the pain of the wounds quickly, then attempts to cast a hallucinogenic curse on Colton, so that he thinks the sun's light had cut through the horizon, tricking his mind into thinking he's back at normal strength, and the chutes are closing in on him, forcing a sense of claustrophobia, tempting him to jump down. She shoots two explosive tipped arrows at the fan Colton was at, and another at the fan on the right side.

Colton: He was put into a hallucinogenic state, the curse causes him to feel that he is back at full strength and that the chutes are closing in on him, the feeling of claustrophobia tempts him to jump down. He slashes the chute, cutting it with ease, jumping down. Once he lands, he realize that it is only a hallucination caused by Gabrielle's curse, his armor, however, protected him from the small blast caused by the explosive tipped arrow she shot. There is a small distance between him and Gabrielle. He uses the gravity pull of the moon to slow down Gabrielle's movement, then, out of his quiver, he takes out an Electro-volt arrow, which shocks whoever and whatever it makes contact with. He shoots it at her armor hoping that it the electricity will flow a electrical current into her armor, shocking and perhaps stunning her.

OOC: Okay I asked Bach if electricity can flow a electrical current into a Celestial Bronze armor, but she has no clue, so what should we do?

GabrielleShe turns immediately to the area she head Colton fall down to. As she hears the arrow cutting through the air, electricity sizzling, she puts herself into a drunken state; she sways to left, avoiding the arrow. The drunken state fades a few seconds later. She then curses him with a bad hangover, hoping to impair his movement with vomiting and nausea, as well as lower his ability to utilize his weapons, as hangovers often come with tremors/handshaking. She fires a blinding arrow at the ground he's standing on the starts a tired run for the exit of the mall, her heavy use of her powers taking a toll on her energy level.

Colton: The arrow shoots pass Gabrielle after she dodges it. The arrow makes contact with the metal door, the only entrance and exit in the mall. The electricity from the arrow causes an electrical current to flow into the door. He hopes that if Gabrielle tries to open the door or break the glass with her weapon, it would cause the electricty to flow into her weapon, shocking and perhaps stunning her. Or if she uses her weapon, the electricity would flow from her weapon, onto her armguard, and then onto her armor, possibly shocking or/and stunning her. He feels the curse of a bad hangover cursed by Gabrielle. It both impairis his movement and lowers his ability to utilize his weapons. Coming towards his direction, he sees an arrow shooting towards the ground where he is standing. Although his hands are still shaking due to the curse, he is able to use the gravity push of the moon to redirect the blinding arrow towards Gabrielle, hoping that it would effect her instead of him. At the moment he is a bit nauseous. He closes and covers his eyes with his hands, hoping that it will lower the chance of the blinding arrow effecting him as well. A few seconds later, the curse begins to wear off. He is considerably drained from the use of his powers; but, however he is still confident that his energy level is still higher then Gabrielle's (Well at least he hopes so).

GabrielleAs she knew she shot the blinding arrow, and she'd already seen him pull that trick before, she knew to take cover if she never heard the obvious impact. She sat on her knees and covered her eyes, as the arrow impaled the ground 5 feet from her, sparks spewing out. As the effect dissipates, she moves for the door, seeing the arrow impaled the center door, and hearing the steady hiss of electricity tipped her off, so rather than pushing the door open with her hands, she gingerly lifts her leg, placing the rubber-y sole of her right combat boot against the door, she gives a hard kick, then quickly charges out the door. She pants, and rests, regaining composure. She enters a defensive stance.

Colton: When he sees Gabrielle lift her leg, he figures what she's gonna do in her current situation. He had taken note earlier when the arrow hit the metal door, that the electrical current also flowed into the metal area in front of the door. So he uses the gravity push of the moon to pin her down, while one of her legs are not on the ground. He hopes that the unbalanced position Gabrielle is in and using the momentum of her kick, the gravity push of the moon will cause her to fall and pin her onto the metal area of the floor. Perhaps the electricity will flow into her armor, possibly shocking and stunning her. He takes a defensive stance. He pants, and he rests, hoping to regain some of the energy he lost, while at the same time, he plans ahead.

OOC: I already rp'd her outside...?

OOC: js, the stuff Gabrielle did gives Colton more then enough time to react, I mean it wouldn't be fair if (Not sure if that's godmod) to not let Colton react to her attempt to leave the mall...

OOC: K, understandable

Gabrielle: She fights the invisible force pushing down, only stumbling. Given the moon's position and Colton's energy level, the push of gravity wasn't enough to knock her down. She kicks the door open feebly, she scurries through the quickly closing entrance, though before she was able to get through the door unharmed, she makes a false step in the doors direction, and her armor connects with the metal, the coursing electricity shocks her mildly; she winces, falling back, out of the mall. She stands up and regains her composure, looking down and breathing steadily to regain energy and ensure she suffer fatigue. She enters a defensive stance.

Colton: Making a decision in a split second, he decided that instead of going out the front entrance, he'll run to the maintenance room, which has stairs leading to the roof. The door that he purposely locked earlier was opened even, most likely because of the rustiness and age of the lock and door. He goes inside, and he takes the key hanging on the wall, using it to open the door leading to the roof. He knows that battling in the sky and utilizing the aspects in the sky will give him a better advantage then on ground. He lays down on the roof, awaiting further action(s) made by Gabrielle. He has his bow in hand, ready for anything that he might face.

GabrielleSince Gabrielle had no idea where Colton went after she exited the building, she scans her surroundings, hoping to get Colton out of his hiding place, she turns and slams the only car in sight with the butt of her sword, the faint alarm rings throughout the arena.

Colton: He knows that he can't stay in his position forever. So he takes out an explosive tipped arrows from his quiver and shoots it at a part of the roof. He shoots it longer ranged to make sure he doesn't get caught in the blast. He knows that when Gabrielle hears the blast, she'll know that he's on the roof. Wasting no time, he uses the gravity pull of the moon to surround himself with the boulders laying around after the blast. He rides the moonlight created by the moon over to Gabrielle. When she's in range, he releases the gravity pull, causing the bouders to shoot off at every direction. He hopes that the at least some of the boulders will strike Gabrielle.

GabrielleShe jumps for the ground and covers her ears as soon as she heard the familiar ticking of the explosive tipped arrow. Upon combustion, the rusty, old-with-age, roof of the car explodes, spraying glass and metal shards in all directions. Most of the slivers bounce off her armor, though a few manage to nick her in the arms and legs. After the barrage of debris ceases, she looks up and sees Colton before her, in the center of floating boulders. In a split second, the go off in all directions. She rolls under the car, avoiding the boulders. After, she rolls back out, springs to her feet, and shoots a blinding arrow at the ground before him, then she creates a long, thorned vine. She raises it and lashes it out at Colton, attempting to lasso his legs.

Fight didn't finish, no one wins.
