She sat in the warmth of the sun, watching as water spewed from the glorious fountain. The sound of the rushing water was lulling her to sleep. With a yawn, she laid on her side, letting the mist sprinkle her as her eyes succumbed to her exhaustion

He found it odd that the new kids got a huge garden while his cabin was left with a rather simple touch to it. He wasn't the type to stress things like that, he had just decided to take a look at the cabin because he heard there was a statue of his father with Psyche. By looking at it he could tell the two were married lovers, it seemed safe to assume that it was an open relationship. The soothing aura of the cabin felt quite odd to him, though it was enjoyable. Tempting to him to take a closer look at his father. The son of love wondered if he resembled him at all. As he stepped through the lovely girl he was greeted with a light snoring which took him by surprise. "Oh shit!" He didn't expect to see such a pretty girl sleeping by the fountain. Realizing he might've waken her up already, Jace tried backing away since he didn't know how she'd react to having her nap interrupted by a stranger.

Her eyes fluttered open, eyes quickly shutting at the brightness of the sun. She didn't initially say anything, simply watching him with large green eyes. "...are you..." she began, voice too quiet to here. Realizing this, she spoke up,"are you a child of Psyche?"

He could clearly see that the girl had awoken, though her face didn't contort into an angry or annoyed expression like he was expecting. Jace assumed she had a quiet,docile nature from her initial silence. "Nah, but my dad's right there with your mom." The question convinced him that Aisling was simply curious as to why he was here. He pointed at the statue right above her to justify his presence. "Sorry for waking you, just wanted to get a good view...at my dad." He hastily added the last three words to that sentence since he feared it'd be misinterpreted.

Her eyes trailed over to the beautiful embodiment of her mother and the strange man. "... I've been wondering who he is," she replied with a soft and gentle voice, full of curiosity. Her eyes were those of a doe, wide and innocent. Though, much like the animal, they carried a slight haunting caused by the fears inflicted upon her by mankind. "What's his name? Why do they look so in love?"

Y'know that guy that shoots people with arrows and makes them fall in love." When Jace explained his father like that, he couldn't help but wonder which would cause more pain. Getting hit by an arrow or everything that could go wrong when it came to falling in love. "Maybe Dad just liked having a girl who could read his mind or something I can't say, but they're in love. They had a whole mushy love story and everything." Jace had recently read about myths involving his father. "Feels kinda weird being his son since I'm forever single." Jace figured a light joke couldn't hurt, he liked seeing people laugh.

"You're the... fourth boy I've talked to willingly," she replied. She fidgeted as an odd feeling coursed through her, causing the hair on her arms to raise. Narrowing her eyes, she cooked her head to the side, "what are you doing to me?" Her tone was defensive as her heart began to race and her breathing sped. Not by a lot, but enough for someone as bodily conscious as herself to notice.

Shyness was one thing, but lacking social interaction your whole life didn't sound great at all. He was initially confused by what she meant, Jace had no intent of using his powers on her. "I know this sounds weird, but I can like slightly attract girls in some mystic way. I can't turn it off." Using demigod powers to attract lovers didn't sound appealing at all, it felt like he was unwilling brainwashing people to sleep with him or something. Hence why Jace sounded apologetic during his explanation.

"Oh... that's what it is," she mumbled, disregarding his first comment. Her brows furrowed in concentration as she blocked his inherit ability out. "It's no problem now," she sighed, with a soft breath. Her whole body relaxed, now that she didn't feel attacked. "And no, it's been two boys since I've come to camp," she explained. "The other two were my father and psychiatrist... Dr. Frost," her voice grew quieter as she further explained. Suddenly, she shook her head wildly, as if trying to throw the thought out. Wanting to change the subject, she focused on him, "what's their love story?" She'd back tracked, eyes returning to her mother, Psyche, and Eros.

Absolutely a cool ability. Jace was curious as to why she'd been so isolated. Made him remember being a socially awkward geek wasn't the worst thing to be. "Well, Aphrodite was getting mad that Psyche was getting so much attention from mortals. Aphrodite's my grandma and she wanted my dad to curse your mom so everyone would pray to her and shit again. But Dad's the god of love not curses so he stood up to Grandma and said he loved your mom. Sweet old grandma needed dad to keep shooting his arrows so people would keep falling in love, so she laid off and Zeus made Psyche a goddess. Our parents have been married ever since." He decided that her backstory wasn't his business, Jace wanted to tell her a sweet little story instead of letting her brood on her problems for a moment. Everyone needed a little distraction sometimes.

The question was more for herself than for him, which is why when she asked her next question, she looked him directly in the eyes... albeit only for a second. "How long have you been here? The reason why so many demigods existed made him think the deities had them on purpose. "I've been here for a while, first showed up a few years back and left for college. It didn't work out so I'll stick around longer." Jace sat down from where he was standing, still giving the daughter of soul some space.

She pulled her knees to her chest, balancing on the stone bench. Her chin rested on top of the bony joints. "I stopped going to school long ago..." she replied, voice full of remorse. "I'm sorry I'm such a downer... I was told I should be a child of melinoe, not psyche, although I don't know exactly what they were alluding to, I know it wasn't good."

You know how many kids would kill to stop going to school?" He continued trying to make her laugh or crack a smile, seemed like she could use either. "Melinoe's the goddess of ghosts, naturally people would expect them to be all sad and depressing." Since Jace wasn't quite the average son of Eros himself, he didn't believe in godparent stereotypes.

While she didn't crack a smile at the talk on school, because as far as she could remember, she enjoyed it. Though, she did smile ever so slightly at the description of melinoe. "You know, I'd stereotype a child of melinoe very differently," she thought a loud.

It was nice to see a little smile from on her lips, besides she looked cute expressing amusement. "I mean how? Are you expecting some Casper the Friendly Ghost vibe or something?" The idea of all children of Melinoe simply being lonely scary people who just wanted to make friends amused him.

Brows raised, eyes wide, jaw slightly slack. "Nuh-uh," she replied. "I would think that someone who is surrounded by death, would be more appreciative of life..." she replied. "For example... I was held in captivity, it's most of my life, but freedom and the idea of it kept me going. I cherish every breath of fresh air I receive now." Her response would wipe clear any thoughts that she was a child and as if to emphasize her point, she shut her eyes and took a large fulfilling breath.

Though her words of wisdom were what really got her attention. He couldn't say he was ever held against his will, his mother was quite strict but it wasn't like he was in jail. Though a desire of freedom was something he understood. "Freedom's great, just get to enjoy your life and keep yourself happy." Jace believed in a fair amount of hedonism, that people should be able to have fun and give into their vices within reason. "Hope you can do that." Suddenly catching the girl sleeping outside made far more sense.

She nodded, her new idea... philosophy on life, making her more willing to open up. It also helped that he didn't try to crowd her space like others in the past, and he was quick to follow her lead in moving a conversation along. "Life here... I can not only step outside, but wander and tend to my mother's garden," she sighed blissfully, a more sincere smile gracing her face. A single hand reached out and butterflies flocked to it, resting their glorious wings along her arm, wrist, and hand. "These are such colorful beings... I aspire to be like them." Her eyes and voice became extremely gentle when speaking of her most beloved being.
