Leighton and Daphne: Reunited[]

  • Leighton: Life at camp was very routine for Leighton. Most days all he ever did was wake up, eat, train, do some cabin chores, then sleep. It was honestly rather boring, but there was not much else he could do truthfully. Sure, he could have left camp when Daphne and Zaphkiel up and left without much word. But he didn't have any place to go really. There was no real desire there to go to school like his sister, and truthfully he didn't feel like hovering from place to place trying to find something he could cling on to and call home. Camp was, sadly, as good as life got for him. Like his days usually went around noon, Leighton was sat in his room playing video games.
  • Prior to this day was when Daphne found out about Kiel's and the daughter of Ares didn't hesitate to leave all things behind for a while and seek refuge back at camp. Hopeful that her twin brother is already back from maximizing the freedom he has.
  • Daph: It was already night when Daphne arrived safely back at camp only for the sole purpose of checking whether Leigh is here or not but upon hearing faint game noises from his room, she immediately barged in without preamble, breaking into tears as she reaches out to her brother. She knows she has a lot of explaining to do but with everything going on with her life, she never knew how Leighton's presence is enough to make it tons lighter. She felt like she's home.
  • Leighton: Having been none the wiser that Daphne was back at camp, given that he didn't have a cellphone, the sudden noise of his door quickly swinging open and someone standing there scared Leighton enough to make him jump. Only seeing a woman's figure at first, he thought maybe it was the lieutenant of Ares' cabin coming in to scold him or something. But once he had taken a second look he noticed that the person in the door was in fact his sister, Daphne. "D-Daphne?..." He muttered as he could feel tears forming in his eyes, after all it had been years since they had last saw each other. Shooting up to his feet and neglecting his game, Leighton ran over to Daphne to embrace her in a hug. Any animosity he may have had in regards to his sister leaving him was, to say the least, completely gone in seconds.
  • Daph: "Thank god you're here" her voice croaks as she pushed in arms length, taking in his face, trying to see if there's something that changed "I'm sorry, you must've been so angry at me." her tears doesn't stop flowing now that she realize how she would feel if Leighton kept her in the dark. She takes her brother to seat with her on the edge of his bed, still familiar with the setting of his room. "Have you been well? Are you eating properly?" she tries to wipe her tears in attempt to stop them but to no avail. "You can be mad at me now, I won't complain." she manages to crack a meek smile
  • Leighton: Truthfully, Leighton was in a state of disbelief and shock. He wasn't sure if he would ever see Daphne again, and to finally have her back felt so surreal he thought he would need to pinch himself to see if he was dreaming. But alas, here she was in the flesh and Leighton was equally as emotional. "I was angry, but that doesn't matter now that you're here." He responded as they moved to the bed, mimicking his sister by whipping away his own tears. "I've been good, lonely, but good. And I've been eating all the time out of fear you'd come back and lecture me to eat." He said with a laugh as he whipped the last of his tears. "You have no clue how much I missed you, even if I was mad at you I can't be mad now."
  • Daph: Her tears continues to flow as she remains speechlessly happy, squeezing his hands as if it's the only thing enough to convey her feelings at the moment. "I always thought of how you're doing and felt bad that I didn't get to say goodbye to you. I'm really sorry." she sobs, letting all of the feelings go but then laughed lightly at how he's taking good care of himself just because he's afraid of her nagging him. "I missed you so much too, you don't know how much I need you right now." she's starting to look like a mess as if a dam has finally broken inside of her.
  • Leighton: "I'm sorry too..." He spoke up, finally clearing the tears from his eyes as he gave his sister's hands a reassuring squeeze. "I was too distant before you left, if I were in your shoes Daph, I don't think I would have told me that you were leaving either..." He did truthfully blame himself for his sister just up and leaving, sure she was in love with Zaphkiel but he wasn't the one who was distant to his own sister. If anything, Zaphkiel was there for Daphne when Leighton wasn't. But pushing those thoughts aside, Leighton noticed his sister's change in behaviour. "Is everything okay?" He started in a softer tone, "You're not here with bad news, are you?"
  • Daphne: Daphne found it concerning that her twin make it seem like she left him on purpose "That's not true." her eyebrows knit in concern as she shakes her head "I didn't know how to connect with you and I tried to postpone our flight as much as I can in hopes that you can still see me off" she sighs in regret hoping there was something else she did just so Leighton could've known she was leaving but alas, past is past. "I understood why you were distant but I will never hold it against you. Okay?" it felt nice to hear someone asking her if she's okay. For the past few weeks, it's all You broke up? Why? Can you not work it out? it was hard to endure all of these without anyone to run to but gods and goddess did she feel better just by having her brother. "I guess, it's better now. Kiel and I broke up and you can guess how our grand parents took it." being business minded as they are and how valuable Kiel is in that department, their grand parents were filled with disappointment especially when Daphne hasn't been telling them the full story of the breakup.
  • Leighton: Daphne reassuring him did help, it made him forget everything he had felt while Daphne was gone. At least for a little while it eased his thoughts of being a terrible brother. It resulted in a smile from the boy, as he nodded his head. "Okay..." Was all he found himself able to say after Daphne saying she couldn't hold him accountable. If only Leighton were that forgiving to himself. Hearing the news that his sister and Zaphkiel had broken up, he was truly shocked. Evident by the way his mouth dropped open and he looked at his sister trying to read her. To get any signs of how she was feeling. "Oh Daph," he started as he pulled Daphne into yet another hug. "I'm so sorry... I hope things didn't end badly, did they? Do I have to go find that guy and knock some sense into him? Better yet, do I need to knock some sense into grandma and grandpa?"
  • Daphne: "I forbid you to beat yourself up okay?" she sniffles, knowing that Leighton has a habit of it. Once she was pulled in for a hug, she chuckles at his comfort, grateful for the gesture. "You know how it'll end up for both of us if you do that to our grandparents." she laughs softly patting his back, truly missing her brother's touch. "Forget about me." she pulls in arms length "How is camp? what have you been doing lately? Do you have a girlfriend now??" she bombards him with question-- attempting to avoid explaining what happened to her and Kiel
  • Leighton: It was nice to have Daphne around, it was a form of comfort that nobody else could necessarily provide. With that though came the old habits of wanting to protect her once more. "You know me Daphne, they wouldn't even bat an eye at me challenging them considering the entire family wanted me to be stern and stand my ground. I'll do it if you want me to." With his sister, trying to change the subject, Leighton hoped they wouldn't be dropping the topic of her and Zaphkiel completely. "It's been okay, I haven't done much truthfully. And no girlfriend either... Or boyfriend for that matter, camp has just kind of been about me getting by."
  • Daphne: A faint blush crept across Daphne's cheeks at how sweet her brother is "Hey, the last thing I want is for you to get in to trouble because of me." she sighs as she rubs her thumb in circular motions at the back of Leighton's hand before being delighted about being corrected at his preference for a partner, playfully bumping him with her elbow "I never knew this, forgive your sister" she chuckles. "I know things in camp can be quite a chore. Let me know when I can help you, ok?" Daphne didn't know any of her brother's future plans but was too afraid to ask since she didn't want him to feel any pressure, much less from her anyway. "One more year and I can finally have the rights to take over the business" she refers to their family business with slight air of satisfaction "By then, I can take you everywhere you want." she smiles at her brother reassuringly
  • Leighton: "Hey, if I was going to get in trouble for anything, standing up for you is one of the best things to get in trouble for. Seems like the best thing to go down for in my books." He said with a bit of laughter behind his words. Truthfully, Leighton didn't even take into consideration that maybe Daphne might not have known that he was more open when it came to his sexuality nowadays. He'd spent so long keeping it a hidden fact due to what his family wanted him to be. "I uh... I honestly forgot you didn't know that about me yet." He laughed nervously, but seeing as Daphne didn't react in a negative way Leighton was relieved. "You can run the family business and I'll be your bodyguard, just like the good old days. The first place I want to go to though is Bali, I think that'd be fun." Bali was definitely the best place to go to he thought to himself, meanwhile returning Daphne's smile.
  • Daphne: It dawns Daphne that she still has a lot more to know about her twin brother, despite Leighton being born before her, she liked the thought that both of them are capable of protecting one another "Bali sounds awesome, I will definitely take us there." she quietly daydreams of the place since she hasn't been there as well "Anyway, what are your plans today?"
  • Leighton: It was weird how fast the walls Leighton had built up in Daphne's absence broke so quickly and he was talking to her like she'd been here the whole time. It was something Leighton needed, the connection he and Daphne had was something he missed. Having someone there who had his back and vice versa no matter what. "Nothing really, but I'd love to hang out with you if you're free? Maybe we could go into New Athens for a bit to hang out?"
  • Daphne: "Ooh New Athens?" she tilts her head in inquiry, since it has been a while and Daphne went back on a whim, she never knew that the nearby town had fallen in to ruins "Sounds fun, we could also get some games." she gestures at his console, Daphne, being the clown that she is has been into horror games for a while and her gameplay consists of 70% screaming 30% playing 10% asking why she is playing this game
  • Leighton: Leighton nodded his head, he hadn't checked New Athens out yet so he figured what better reason to check it out than to go with Daphne. "That sounds like a good idea! I've just recently finished a game called Outlast, have you heard of it?" He asked, unaware his sister was also into horror games. "Anyways, I've heard that there is a sequel so maybe we could buy that?"
  • Daph: ”Ooh, I do know that!” She grins with mischief — remembering how their grandparents had sought to throwing a sandal at her for disrupting some of their sleep “Let’s grab something for dinner first”
  • Leighton: "Awesome! We should definitely play the sequel together then, I think it'd be fun." He hummed excitedly as he nodded is head in response to dinner. Leighton could always go for a bite. "Did you have any type of food in mind?"
  • Daph: "Uhuh, I hope the cabin doesn't kick us out. Jumpscares are very effective on me" she laughs nervously before standing up to prepare "I'm not really craving for anything at the moment so anything will do, how 'bout you?"
  • Leighton: "I feel like they're used to it by now, I'm not necessarily the calmest when playing horror games." He said, laughter following as he stood up as well. "What about some Thai food, does that sound good?"
  • Daphne: she laughs at their common nature "I guess, we really are twins" she nods at his suggestion as he gesture for him to lead the way "Deal, lead the way"
  • Leighton: Laughing alongside Daphne, Leighton nodded his head as he grabbed his backpack and put his wallet into it. "It isn't too far of a walk from camp." He mentioned before reaching for his shoes and putting them on as well. With that, the pair headed towards New Athens with the video game store being the first stop.
  • Daphne: Despite the sudden urge to buy unplanned games, thankfully, she was able to resist herself from the splurging with Leighton's presence. She didn't want to make herself look like a problematic lady who just dumped the love of her life lol who would want that?? Anyway, after getting the second installation of Outlast, the two proceeded to go to the Thai restaurant with small talks and catching up about the current things about their life.
  • Leighton: The time spent in the game store was minimal, which thank the gods because Leighton was never good at resisting spending his money. It didn't take them long to get to the restaurant either, and getting seated was quick too. As the pair waited for the food to arrive, they were deep in conversation. Leighton appreciated the chance to catch up with his sister. "Gods, when was the last time we were able to grab a meal together?"
