*Carena: “I don’t mind getting beat, and I also don’t mind taking you up on that ‘friendly’ wager,” Carena replied, grinning. “Just don’t get upset if I beat you.”

This is the roleplay forum for all new users. Essentially, this is when they have just exited the big house/ are poking their way through the big house. It can be an opportunity for characters to meet people and find buddies to show them around!

Welcoming Committee (nee, squad)

Welcome RP's

Minty

  • Araminta: She's hugging Ruby close as she walks down the steps from the Big House. The lady (Lady Hestia, her mind supplied) that brought her here had disappeared once she had told Minty that she was in good hands. Minty frowned, where was she to go now?
  • Miller: The Hermes Counselor pops into the world, over by the corner of the entrance of the Big House. "All I'm saying is she's cute and I did the world a favor. What can I say except your welcome?" It almost looks as if he's speaking to air, but that's because his talking campanion is only just arriving from their lunch. Miller notes the new girl on the steps. Time to do his job. "Oh hey there!" He waves, straightening his back up. "Wanna see a magic trick?"
  • Minka: "Do tell what you want me to say during your funeral pyre, because when Dad catches wind of this-" The Hades counselor follows suit, her eyes narrowed. Whether it's in good fun or not is to be determined later, because she too notices the girl. "Hello," she greets hesitantly. "What's your name, kiddo?"
  • Araminta: Ruby barks at the new people as soon as they were in view. Minty tries to shush the excitable puppy down before switching her attention to the two newcomers. "H- Hi. I'm M- Minty." The mention of a magic trick intrigues her, "A magic t- trick?"
  • Miller: Miller winks suspiciously. "We're all about the magic here. Three, two, on-" He snaps his fingers, immediately teleporting himself. One minute he's standing with Minka. The next he's on the steps with Minty, bending over to petting the cute dog that is Ruby. "Ta-da. No gimmicks, just magic." As he's petting, he slips her collar into his sleeve, doing his best to scratch and pet in order to distract the dog from the casual take.
  • Minka: Dogs are tolerable. Minka suppresses a smile, rolling her eyes at Miller. "Hi, Minty. I'm Minka. That's Miller." She ignores the roll call of M names and strides up to the huddle. It's a bit obvious what Miller's doing, given she's seen him at it for years. She side eyes him before returning her focus to the new kid. "Who brought you here?" she asks gently.
  • Minty: Obviously the puppy is loving the attention on her to notice her collar getting 'magicked' away. Minty 'ooh's at the 'magic trick', some of her initial shyness and fear trickling away. "Y-Your names are pretty." She admits. "Um, Lady H-Hestia did."
  • Miller: He looks up quickly, cracking his neck slightly. His confusion turns to relief once he's able to work out the situation in his head. "So you're one of her nymph servants? One of those fire dudads." He looks to Minka for support, unsure if he's gotten the name right. "Did this fair pup also come from ye Old Hestia?"
  • Minka: That definitely piques her interest. She shakes her head at Miller's look. No clue, dude. "The sanctuary isn't short on space this time of the year," she says. "We can get someone to arrange your rooms. And a water dish and dog bowl." She sneaks a look at the furball. "You're in good hands."

Nossis Locris

Daughter of Athena

Elana Castro

  • Elana: Elana felt numb. Her entire chat in the big house she'd nodded along with everything was being said but honestly she wasn't processing a word of it. She probably looked more than a little lost as she made her way down the stairs into the main body of the camp
  • Abbie: Wanting some fresh air and deciding to see if there were any newbies needing a welcome, Abbie made her way from the Aeolus Cabin towards the Big House. She breathed deeply, enjoying the air fill up her lungs, as she saw a girl with a blank face leave the building. Picking up her pace into a slow jog, she caught up with her and greeted her with a smile. "Hey there, are you new here? I'm Abbie, welcome to Camp! What's your name?"
  • Elana: It took her a while to process the fact she was being spoke to despite the fact the other girl was smiling directly at her. "Sorry what?" She blurted out blinking quickly as if she'd just returned to reality.
  • Abbie: She winced slightly and chuckled, sticking one hand into the back pocket of her jeans and reaching her other to rub the back of her head. "Ah, sorry I scared you! I'm Abbie, are you new?"
  • Elana: "No no you're fine, I was just...elsewhere" She supplied forcing what she hoped was a reassuring smile but it wasn't as if she could see her own expression, it could have been an awkward grimace for all she knew. "I'm Elana, I just arrived today"
  • Abbie: "Nice to meet you!" She watched Elana give her awkward look and gave her an empathising smile in return. "Oh, I completely understand. It's so stressful first getting here, and everyone telling you all these seemingly impossible things, and--" She cut herself off when she turned back to look at Elana, suddenly realising that she was probably overwhelming the poor girl even more. With another awkward chuckle and, this time, scratching her eyebrow, she backtracked, "Ah, shit, I do this every time. Sorry, I'm learning! Uh, let me try this again: where are you from?"
  • Elana: She opened her mouth to tell her that none of this had been a surprise to her but stopped herself before she could. If she did that then she'd have to explain everything and honestly she wasn't really in the mood for that. "I'm from Oregon, bit of a trip to get here"
  • Abbie: Abbie raised her eyebrows in surprise and whistled. "Gods above, that is far! How was the journey? Long?" She went to place a hand on her arm reassuringly, but instead, linked her fingers together to stop herself. "Don't worry, Elana. You'll fit right in here. Do you have any questions right now?"
  • Elana: "Very long" She agreed nodding her head slowly a guilty look crossing onto her face "Uh yeah, the Nyx cabin where is it? They told me in there but there was a whole bunch of information at once and I guess I wasn't paying complete attention where they gave me directions"
  • Abbie: Noticing Elana's slight facial expression, Abbie offered her an understanding smile. "Oh, I know, right? They tell you so much and, between you and me," she leaned in a little closer to Elana, "I think I'd do a better job at presenting," she joked (half-serious), trying to crack a smile from her. With a wink, she started walking towards the Cabins, gesturing her to follow. "Come on, I'll take you to Nyx's Cabin."
  • Elana: "Thank you" She stated as she hurried after her "You think you can break the news to someone that they're half god without sending them into a tailspin?" She couldn't help but smile slightly at that, she was certain it wasn't possible to break that sort of news without at least some sort of confusion.
  • Abbie: "Of course! I'm great on stage." Abbie paused, raising her eyebrows and considering the task she had so boldly claimed she could do, with a smile on her face. "Though... Yeah," she drew out, "um, the topic of presentation might make that a little bit harder." She laughed and quickly raised at finger at Elana. "That's not my fault, okay? Don't judge my presentation skills by the audience's reaction to the subject." She hummed and gave her a side glance. "That didn't sound any better, did it?"

Carena

  • Felix: The son of Tyche is on his way to the stables when he hears a new camper - the telltale bloody spear hanging over the Big House telling him this was likely a kid of Ares. He doesn't know what to expect (aside from likely head-bashing or being thrown in the landmines outside their cabin if he messes up), but he's in a cheerful mood and makes his way straight there. It's not been too long since he was thrown with the wolves and sometimes a smile or bit of luck thrown your way helped to ease things.
  • Carena: Carena looked up confused at the sudden spear over her head, only to earn cheers from the Ares table. Looks like she was a daughter of Ares.
  • Felix: Seeing the Ares Cabin out in full force, Felix approaches with a friendly wave and smiles at Carena. "Welcome to Camp. I'm Felix." He nods and turns back to see the eager warriors, cheering on their sister. "I was gonna head out to the stables but if you need a tour, dance lessons or some plain old fashioned luck, then I'm your dude." He winks, laughing at himself. "Sorry, I'm Head Counsellor of Tyche's cabin. Goddess of luck and fortune if you didn't know."
  • Marcel: Marcel headed to the big house knowing that there's new campers want to see if he can help some. As he got there he sees Felix talking to a other girl who seems to be new as he walks up to the two of them " hey Felix who's your new friend?" He says curiously with a smile on his face.
  • Carena: A smile formed on the red-heads face. “No need for apologies, I’m Carena. Pleased to meet you.” She replied to Felix before looking at Marcel, wanting to see what Felix would say.
  • Felix: "Hey! I would've come grabbed you but I figured you'd be with Owais and Matthew." He smirks, gently nudging Marcel. "Likewise, Carena. This is Marcel, one of the coolest guys I know, Nike's Cabin and someone you definitely don't want to race." Felix grins.
  • Carena: Carena grinned, holding out her hand for Marcel to shake. “I would be up for the challenge, if your mother wouldn’t mind me winning,” she smirked. “Nice to meet you Marcel.”
  • Marcel: Marcel smiles as he shakes her hand "Yeah anytime us children of Nike love a good competition" with a smile on his face then his face turned red once Felix mentioned Matthew and Owain.
  • Felix: "Count me out. Marcel kicked my butt last time. I'll stick to dance." He chuckles. "We could race down to the stables now. Are you all up for a friendly wager?" Felix asks, a slight glint of mischief in his eyes.
  • Carena: “I don’t mind getting beat, and I also don’t mind taking you up on that ‘friendly’ wager,” Carena replied, grinning. “Just don’t get upset if I beat you.”
  • Felix: "Who knows? I might get lucky." Felix shrugs, glancing between Carena and Marcel. "Race to the stables? Whoever gets there first doesn't have to clean up the Pegasi poop." He makes a face. "Oh and they can feed them my sugar cubes."
