Shark Boy and Lava Girl

Polly: For the first time in a while, Polly could actually be seen out and about around camp - And she actually seemed in a pretty good mood about it, too. She had just come back from helping some kids at her cabin, and eventually, they all got tired and went their separate ways, and she was getting hungry.

Uselo: Uselo was lounging about in the middle of camp in his hammock, hanging in a small group of trees with a couple other campers. He partly followed the conversation the others were on. Eyes closed as he gently swung, one leg hanging out. Uselo had been doing some grounds work on trails and clearings. The smell of earth, vegetation, and effort clung to him still.

Polly: Her eyes eventually landed on Uselo, and she smirked. Polly quietly - Very very quietly - walked up to his hammock, and leaned down to kiss his forehead. "Wake up, silly."

Uselo: His initial response was a groan, but her warm touch and refreshing scent energized him. He grinned as he cracked up one eye to look up at his girlfriend. "But I'm tired babe." he jest. He sat up and took her hands, leaning up and kissing her on the lips.

Polly: "Well why didn't you sleep last night?" She responds, chuckling slightly and kissing him back. "Just wanted to see if you wanted to go get some food with me. I didn't eat breakfast." It was almost 2 pm, and Polly winces when she looks down at her watch to see that. "Or lunch, apparently."

Uselo: "I slept, just worked all this morning." He saw her face and got up, taking her hand in his. "Let's just call it a late lunch then." He gave her a smile as they started off towards the dining pavilion. "Missing out on two meals and you want to tell me off for taking a break."

Polly: Hand in hand with Uselo, she smirks. "I was contributing! The kids of the Aetna cabin were trying to figure out some powers. I decided to show them some tricks. Then before that, I was cleaning." Polly sighs. "You know. Big sister things."

Uselo: Hearing Polly beam about helping her cabinmates gave Uselo the largest grin. He just looked at her as she spoke, "Gods, you just keep giving me reasons to love you, Polly." He squeezed her hand before sneaking in a kiss on her cheek. "I'm happy to hear your cabin is feeling more like a home."

Polly: "Well. It was either that or feel bad for myself - and with you, I have a lot less reason to do that, because I kinda have the best boyfriend in the world." She grins at him.

Uselo: "Well, some would say I'm quite the catch," he said with a big grin and a wink, starting to break and laugh at his own joke.

Polly: She let out a small chuckle, but just gently pushes him, before leaning in to kiss him again. "Well, you're definitely something, alright." Polly teases. "So! Do you know what's at the Pavilion today?"

Uselo: Happy his joke made her laugh, returning her kiss. "I think today is an open barbecue. I'm going to fill myself on halibut and squid."

Polly: "Oh, Halibut! That sounds amazing! It's not as good as my dad's... Or how his was, at least... But still. I haven't had it in a while." Polly chuckles again. "definitely looking forward to that."

Uselo: "Maybe we can work together to make our own recipe." He said with small, supporting smile. "Start our own tradition in memory of what we grew up with." They finally arrive at pavilion, the air of open fires and grilling now surrounding them. "How about it?"

Polly: "Memorialize Waikola with the recipes taught to us?" Polly hums in thought. "I mean... It's tempting, but it's not really the same, is it?"

Uselo: "No it wouldn't be the same. But it would be our thing, based on our home and family. Just one way we can carry on Waikola with us." He stopped them just before the cooking area, holding her hand a bit tighter.

Polly: Polly stops with him, smiling as he squeezes her hands. "Something we could pass down to our children, I suppose."

Uselo: Uselo smiles back with a bit of a chuckle. "Yea, something for our family." He gives her a loving kiss, "You know a lot of guys would have backpedaled if their girlfriend said something like that."

Polly: "You're not most guys, are you? Besides, we have a lot more history than just boyfriend-girlfriend. You know I like kids, so I figured you wouldn't have an issue with it."

Uselo: "You aren't wrong. And we'll have as big of a family as you want." Simultaneous growls from their stomachs remind them why they were here to start with. "More family planning after we get something cooking." He flashes a grin at her.

Polly: Polly chuckles. "Definitely," She responds, squeezing his hands and starting to drag him up the pavilion.

Uselo: Following her, they make over it to the open grill finally. Uselo finally lets yo of her hand and grabs a couple fillets of halibut and a handful seasonings to prepare them. "I think something a little spicy but over all sweet and citrusy."

Polly: Polly follows closely in suit. "Like pineapple on pizza?" She teases. She wasn't much of a fan of pineapple on pizza. Notedly, in fact. She's gotten in constant arguments with Paavo about it.

Uselo: His eyes almost start rolling but stop as he thinks. "Well yes, you make a point, even if I know you don't like it. Maybe something like this to start." Uselo grabs a bowl and pours in some brown sugar, pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and holds up a bit of pineapple juice. "Add this and mix it up to make a glaze?"

Polly: Polly nods, "That's how my dad used to make it - But he'd add lime to it too."

Uselo: Uselo nods and adds in the pineapple juice, mixing everything together. "So you want to add that in? And anything else? Maybe we can use shredded coconut." He looks up at her.

Polly: Polly scrunches her nose. "Let's add the lime, but coconut? I don't think that would go well with it," She replies with a shrug. "What about you? Anything else?"

Uselo: He pass over a lime and a knife to Polly. "Ok, maybe we add in barbecue sauce or mustard to change up the base," he adds, holding up the options.

Polly: "Barbecue sauce sounds good," she replies with a grin, taking the lime and cutting it into wedges.

Uselo: Sharing her grin, he sets the mustard aside and opens up the barbecue sauce. "You squeeze the lime in while I'm mixing this in." Uselo shakes in a couple dollops, then starts folding in all the components.

Polly: Polly nods, squeezing in two of the wedges. "That should be enough, right?"

Uselo: He dips his pinky in and tasted it, humming and nodding, "I think so. Here, see for yourself."

Polly: She nods, and swipes some up for herself with her pinky finger, tasting it. "Not bad! I feel like it's missing something, but we could figure that out later... Right now I am starving, so let's just get on with it, right?"

Uselo: "You're right, let's eat first." He brushes down the fillets and sets them on the grill as he adds, "We're going to have plenty of time to refine our recipe. Maybe get input from those kids you are looking forward to have." He teases her  on that point but he equally shares in her vision of their future.

Polly: Polly scrunches her nose at him playfully. "What, like you're not looking forward to teaching your kids how to surf?" She teases. "Just think about it, we could go back to Waikola, now that it's livable again and people are moving in again. We could live right on the beach, right next to Mauna Lao. We could actually protect everyone this time..."

Uselo: "You mean teaching our kids how to surf." smiling as he takes her hand again as he watches the grill. "We'll have to pick a quieter corner of the beach. I don't want anyone to see you turn yourself into a living magma person. Also, I'm doing some part in building the house"

Polly: Polly giggles, squeezing his hand. "I'll only turn myself into magma-girl if I need to, I promise. Just... As long as I can protect Waikola, I'll be happy wherever we end up living in the area."

Uselo: "If that's what you want, then we will protect Waikola when move back and start our family there, Till the end of our days." He raises their hands and kisses the back of hers. Uselo smiles at her as he intends to follow that promise.

Polly: "It's what I want, but what do you want?" she questions, tilting her head at him. "That's just as important, you know."

Uselo: He locks his eyes with hers for a moment as he thought about her question. Turning away so he could flip the fish, "All I can think of is I never want to be separated from you again and I never want to lose you. I know it's the same as I've said before but it's still true." Uselo tightens his hold on her hand as he looks back at her. "I'd be happy following your dream, because being with you is mine."

Polly: "Cheesy," She notes with a grin. "There's gotta be something you want - Maybe from before we met?"

Uselo: Uselo chuckles, "I think I have to do some soul searching before I can give you a better answer. Just let me enjoy this fantasy for now." Smiling, he kisses her temple sweetly.

Polly: "Hm. Fine. But you better give me an answer eventually~" She replies with a smirk.

Uselo: "I will, just need to think about it and find out what it is." He nods as he goes back to the watching the fish.

Polly: She nods, standing back and watching him cook the fish.

Uselo: Quickly seaoning and throwing on some asparagus, Uselo waits just a bit before scooping up the fillets and letting them rest on a couple plates as he finishes up the veggies before turning back to her with her plate. "All done, babe."

Polly: Polly smiles, taking the plate happily. "Thank Gods." She replies, looking arouind and finding a place to sit fairly easily. "You always were a better cook than me."

Uselo: Smiling at her compliment, he grabs two of the self filling cups and brings them over with him. "Thanks, and it can be another thing I help you learn if you want" Uselo's cup fills with cola as he takes a drink from it.

Polly: She shrugs. "I'm sure you will, we have our whole lives for that," She replies with a smirk.

Uselo: "That we will." He matches her smirk before leaning in for a deep kiss.

Polly: She kisses back grinning when she pulls away. "So... How about we finish eating, and then we go on and get out of here?"

Uselo: He pauses before chuckling as he cuts off a piece of fish with his fork. "You are insatiable, Polly." grinning as he takes his first bite.

Polly: "Would you rather I not be?" She teases, chuckling as she took a bite.

Uselo: He hesitates at his response, closing his mouth as he shakes his head. "You know my answer." Uselo fills his mouth with food so he can't say anymore at that second.

Polly: She chuckles in response, deciding to just eat quietly at that point. After she finished, she started looking around. "Weird how empty it is right now."

Uselo: Uselo looks up and scans the pavilion at her mention, finishing the mouthful of food he had. "A bit, I know it's an activity time but there's still usual some people around."

Polly: "Mostly Dionysus," she muses. "I was thinking. We could go visit Waikoloa, at least once a year or so. At least, that's what i wanna do - definitely wouldn't mind you joining me."

Uselo: "It's been a long while since I've been there, but of course I'd go with you. I'd love to see it again after all this time. Pick out where I'll be building our home." Uselo flashes a big grin at her as he starts to get up, collecting their plates.

Polly: She grins, deciding to stand up and help him clean up a bit. "You think the counselours would mind us going back and forth like that?"

Uselo: "As long as we let them know ahead of time, I don't think there would be a problem. Once a year isn't that often either, it's not like we'd be commuting every weekend." They get their dishes cleaned and help wipe down where they ate at. Uselo takes her hand again, looking down at her. "So, where to?"

Polly: Polly grins. "The field?" She asks innocently.

Uselo: "Sounds good to me." He smirks as he starts to lead them off to their little corner at camp. "Let's see if we can miss dinner too." Giving her a small wink.

An Introduction to The Unknown

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

Maeve wandered aimlessly through the land of the Broken Covenant. Truly, it was not as pretty as the convent was. The nymphs may have loved chaos, but they loved a good garden even more. Here they had... Nothing. It seemed almost desolate - Nobody took care of plants, nobody cleaned the dust. Definitely wasn't great, but Maeve had no issue with it. She could make it a project - It's not like she wouldn't have the time after all.

Leo lazily lounged around one of the common areas of the Covenant. His eyes half closed, resting in the shade of one of the trees that grew. Every so often, he blew a small jet of fire and smoke from his mouth. Boredom shackled him into apathy. Until he saw a new comer wondering the ground. He watched from the distance as they seemed to be surveying the area. The existence of an interest brought a wry smile to his face. Slowly getting up, Leo meandered over to the girl, "You look like you are trying to make some big plans.

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

Maeve looks up, a bit surprised to see a new person - Why was she surprised? She was the new one here, after all. But she just shrugs off the initial shock, and shrugged in response. "This place is atrociously messy. When is the last time you've dusted? And all the plants are dead! Truly horrific." Her voice run out with a deep British accent as she turned a full 360 back to facing Leo a moment after. "Truly, how do you expect new members with such a mess? Appearance is everything, you know!"

Leo's eyebrows furrowed deeply as he listened to her berate the ground. He paused a moment, letting her tone hang in the air before laughing cynically. "Oh you definitely are new here." He holds his arms out to the surroundings. "This has been what the last few years have been for us. Our struggle is suddenly just something you get to insult without even understanding?" Even as his words were loaded with passion, his body couldn't bring out the same.

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

"Oh please," She scoffs. "I'm two hundred and ten years old. I was raised in a convent, and even then they had the decency to at least wipe down a little!" Maeve laughs. "Oh, but don't worry, Dear..." She walks up to him, and presses the tip of her finger to her nose, a little boop. "I guess I can step it up. I've got the time, so why not? I just can't believe you expect a king to live in such a state of disarray."

He cocked his head to the side, confused at her last statement. "A king?" I've been here long enough to know there are a few members with egos big enough to think they were kings." Leo clapped his hands together, his wry smile still there. "if there is a king here. They certainly don't matter enough for the rest of us to know about."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

She rolled her eyes. "He will be." Maeve answers with a smirk. "Isadore. We've just arrived." She looks around again, then gasps, looking over at him. "Oh how rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Maeve Castle. I've been stuck in a Convent for two hundred years, killing people. Pleasure." She holds out her hand for a handshake.

"Telling me a name with no meaning to me doesn't help." He looked down at her for several seconds, trying to gauge how serious she was in her attitude. "A long life and a high kill count aren't anything that special here, Maeve. And believe that they are will get you a lot of enemies." He looked down at her hand for a second. " Leo Thompson. And I do this out of requirement." He meets her hand and shakes it.

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

"I never expected it would, sourpuss." She rolls her eyes. "I may be socially awkward but I'm not dumb. I thought that was what I was expressing, not the body count." Maeve seemed pretty done with this conversation though. "Listen, Leo. Pal. I'm not really here to make friends. I'm here because... Honestly, I just really dislike humans, and my father is here. It's not my fault I've decided to spruce up the place a bit - Or are you just generally against that? Because I could totally step back from your dark-dirty-room vibes. It's very edgy. Truly."

 – 03:45, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

He looked stunned for a bit, locked eyes with her as he tried to process. "Wait, so this king you said is your father, Isadore." Leo slowly cracked, bursting into full bent laughter. Doing his best to compose himself to speak again without doubling over, "So, you're some princess? Fussing over the new kingdom for dad?" He cackles again, trying to find air when he can. "Here I thought, you just had some high and mighty calling. Oh this is so much better."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

She gave him a look of what can only be described as shocked and upset. "I wouldn't call myself a princess, but thank you! And he was a king! He was to be Adonis's successor! But then his step-brother ruined it all! You-- You are very rude!"

LeoThomp4

 – 03:56, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

Wiping his eyes, Leo actually started to collect himself. "Oh, dear, sweet Maeve. I can be so much worse. Rude is the least offensive thing to call me. I have...issue with authority that isn't my own share. So being told I have a king now didn't sit well. You'll welcome to forgive or hate me." he shrugged his shoulders, still grinning.

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

She crosses her arms, looking fairly indignant. "I pose no authority to you, so may you stop being a total asshat towards me, maybe?" She scrunches her nose at him.

LeoThomp4

 – 04:08, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

"Fair enough. I can certainly give it a try." Leo lessened his grin to something resembling friendly. "I guess I should should start with some manners I have. Welcome to the Covenant, Maeve."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

With her arms still crossed, she looks him up and down before relaxing a bit herself. "Well thank you," She notes, nodding her head. "So tell me, Leo, where can I get some cleaning supplies around here?"

Leo thought for a moment, then points out the larger building nearby. "One of the headquarters might have something. If nothing else you can ask someone there who would know where that stuff would be."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

She nods. "Mind walking with me? I'm not quite comfortable walking around alone quite yet." She gestured forward, towards the door.

He was about to protest but stopped himself. Nodding his head, he motions for her to follow him. "Sure, come on. You show ask for a tour from your faction when you get done."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

"Well, I haven't exactly met a lot of people yet," She notes with a sigh. Maeve follows. "I mean, I've barely managed to talk to Isadore since he... Well, since we got here."

"New people should finally get some to stir. May take some time but things will move." He leads her through a few halls and up the stairs.

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

She shrugs. "Hopefully. When is the last time you've all had some new blood anyways? I mean, as said before, this place is a ghost town, and those poor plants!"

"It's been some time. It's hard for those who've had the spark of revolution and let it go cold, the spirit stagnate." There was a hard edge to his words, his face grim. He turns a corner and shows Maeve a decorated door. "Here you go."

Maeve1

Daughter of Eris • Liberi Superum

Maeve pats Leo's shoulder. "Hey, don't worry too much. I'll try to breathe as much life as possible into this place." She answers with a shrug. "Thank you for escorting me. I suppose I'll see you around." She walks to the door, opening it, "Oh! And, do me a favor, yeah? If you see Isadore... Pretend I don't exist." She smiles sweetly at him as she heads inside.

"We'll see if I run into him, take care Maeve." He turns and heads back out, taking our a cigarette. He sparks a flame from his finger and lights it.

The Smell of The Island

Polly: Taking a break from Camp, which she definitely occasionally needed, Polly found a field somewhere near camp - Honestly, she wasn't all that sure of where she was, but nobody else was around, and that was good enough for her. If Prim, Uselo, or Paavo came around, she wouldn't mind. Anyone else, and she'd be finding a new safe spot. Polly lays on the floor, her hands resting behind her head as she cloudgazes.

Uselo: Checking in at the Aetna cabin, Uselo knows Polly is off on her alone time somewhere most people couldn't find. What gave it away for him was when he half-sibling told him she 'went out for some air.' Thankfully, one trick makes his search a breeze, the sweet fragrance of island flowers mixing with the smell of the earth. Uselo takes one deep breath through his nose and makes his way up to the clearing with Polly. He grins at her as he makes his way over to her. "Found you."

Polly: She grins when she hears the voice. "Was hoping you would," she answers, looking towards him. "Lay down with me?"

Uselo: Laughing as he walls up next to her, Uselo lays down on to the ground but places s kiss on her lips before reclining all the way. "How've you been?

Polly: Polly sighs, shrugs, and shakes her head. "I just... do you think they know? The Gods I mean. Do they know what their children's lives are like?"

Uselo: He lets out a small sigh though his nose, getting comfortable next to Polly. "As powerful as they are, probably. But I guess it's something different if they can do anything about it. Maybe they are too busy to take care of all of their kids. They also might not be able to do anything other than claim us because of some Olympian politics."

Polly: smiles and looks over at him, pulling a bit closer. There's been a lot of new siblings for me. It's very weird."

Uselo: Her smiles brings one to his face as well. Uselo snakes one of his arms under her and holds her close to him. "Yea. My cabin has had a few new members recently too. Weird finding out you have more and more siblings you never knew about before they get here."

Polly: Polly rests her head in the nook of his neck, smiling up at him. "Yeah, doesn't help that the gods are kinda promiscuous."

Uselo: Uselo chuckles at her comment, "It's still nice to have a big family." He tilts his head over and kisses the top of his head, taking in the same smell that led him to her.

Polly: "I know this sounds like a broken record, but I miss home. Having a big family reminds me of that."

Uselo: "I get it. I miss Waikoloa too." He reach up with his other hand and takes hers. "And I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to make you forget it and make camp your home."

Polly: Polly shrugs. "Camp is never going to be my home, I think we both know that."

Uselo: He looks down at her, "Yea, I know. But do you feel safe here?"

Polly: Polly nods. "With you around? Always."

Uselo: "and you wouldn't feel as safe if I wasn't here?"

Polly: Polly has to pause and think for a moment before answering this. "It feels... Awkward. But I guess it helps knowing I probably won't be attacked by hellhounds and telekhines."

Uselo: "I get that. But as I promised before I'm not going anywhere without you, Polly." Uselo brings her hand up and kisses the backs of her fingers.

Polly: Polly leans towards him, giving him a quick peck on the lips. "I wouldn't let you," She notes with both amusement and a bit of seriousness.

Uselo: Grinning, he pulls her into a deeper kiss, drawing it out until they almost need air. "I'll hold you to that."

Polly: Polly takes a moment to look around, smirking. "What if someone walks up here?" She questions, pulling herself a bit closer to him.

Uselo: Uselo smirks right back, pulling her up so she head up laying on top of him. Wrapping his arms around her low back, he grins devilishly. "Depending on much you want, you'll just have to keep your voice down," giving her quick wink.

Polly: Polly laughs, leaning down to kiss him deeply. "You are incorrigible," She teases, moving down to his neck.

Uselo: "You're one to talk," He hums as his hand start to explore her body...

One timeskip later...

Polly: Polly glances over to the entrance of the field, breathing heavily after the little event. "Well, at least I know this is a good place for us to meet every once in a while..." She smirks. "God forbid my half-siblings hear anything in the Cabin."

Uselo: Uselo's chest heaves, one arm still hangs onto her. "My half-sibling would smell all the sweat and know something was up." He gives her a smirk and a quick kiss on her check. "And this place works for me. I kind of like the riskiness of being so close to camp." Looking off in the same direction she is, his hand starts running up and down her side, slowly and aimlessly.

Polly: "Mmhm, and it'll be all high-fives and hell-yeahs for you," She replies with a chuckle. "I hope they can tell who's scent it is," She adds, gently kissing his neck again.

Uselo: He chuckles as he tilts his head to the side just a bit for her. "Oh I'm sure I've been around you so much now, some of them would know when you were anywhere near the cabin without ever having met you."

Polly: She pulls back a second to laugh. "So you basically outed me," She teases.

Uselo: "You're the one who's getting all over me." He smirks as he reaches his hand lower and grabs a handful, squeezing just a bit. "And besides, we aren't exactly hiding the fact we're dating very well."

Polly: "Well, now that Paavo knows, I see no reason to hide anything." She answers with a shrug. "Besides, what's the camp gonna do? Separate us?"

Uselo: "Seeing how more than half of camp is in some form of relationship, I don't think they are going to do anything. As much as we might make some others sick of us," flashing a smiles her.

Polly: Polly giggles. "Let them be sick. I've never been this happy."

Uselo: "Gods, me neither." He wraps both arms around her again, holding her close. "I'm glad I can make you happy, Polly. I mean it."

Polly: Polly smiles. "Me too." She answers with a sigh. "We should probably get back soon, it's getting dark."

Uselo: Uselo gives a sigh as well. pulling her just a littte bit closer. "Soon though, not right now." He leans his head in and kisses her lovingly.

Polly: "Well. We could always go back in the morning - I used to fall asleep at the beach with my father sometimes. It was fun."

Uselo: "And it wouldn't be the first time we've camped out for the night at camp." He gives her a small grin.

Polly: Polly grins, resting her head in the nook in his neck again. "Sounds like a perfect night to me."

Uselo: Uselo snugs up his hold of her, smiling as the two of them get comfortable. "Me too, Polly."

Week One

Polly: Polly had clearly missed quite a bit while she was gone. She ended up going to a cafe the town over. readiong some old news articles on her phone as she drank some tea and fiddled with her necklace. Wearing a jacket and jeans, she didn't quite look like her normal self who would be wearing tank tops and skirts, but Polly was cold. Freezing, it looked like, as even the jacket she was wearing wasn't enough - She held herself, her arms crossed.

Uselo: Uselo had to send a package to his mom and is on his way back at camp. He has on a jacket and jeans as while, but has spent a few cool springs up hear and has gotten a bit more used to the colder weather. Rounding a corner, he just about starts his way back when he passing by the cafe. He glances up and almost missed Polly as he has almost never seen her all bundled up. He narrows his eyebrows as he walks over to her, concern showing on his face. "Hey," he says as he walks up to her.

Polly: Polly, hearing the familiar voice, immediately relaxes her shoulders a bit as she looks up from the phone. "Hey you," She answers with a bright smile. Though, seeing the concern on her face, it shifted to match his. "What's wrong? Is my hair messy?" Polly moves her hand up to flatten her hair a bit and run her hands through it, a bit confused

Uselo: He immediately smiles back when she smiles, laughing at her worry now with her hair. He takes her hands into his and squats down next to her. "No, it's not your hair. I didn't see my bright and warm Polly and I got worried." He realizes the temp of her hands and holds them tighter. "Cold?"

Polly: Polly pauses for a moment, then chuckles. "Well yeah. I'm freezing." She answers with a shrug. "I just haven't quite gotten used to the change in temp yet. I'll get used to it." Polly then shows him her phone. "I was just looking up what I missed. Not much, hm?"

Uselo: "Yea, been a bit...don't want to use the word dead but stagnate." He pulls up a chair next to her, still holding one of her hands. "And it take a while. My first couple winters were horrible."

Polly: Polly shrugs, looking over the phone again. "The Gods have been quiet, at least. The less we hear from them the more calm it is. Speaking of, have you heard from your father lately?"

Uselo: He shakes his head. "No, I haven't heard from him in a long time." He pauses a moment as he looks off at nothing. "But not sure what I would do if I saw or talked to him."

Polly: Polly nods. "I feel the same way about my mother. They just sort of ditched us, didn't they?" Polly's nose scrunched a bit in annoyance at the idea.

Uselo: He laces his fingers with hers, smiling softly. "Things could be going horribly and they can't leave us alone. Gods also don't sound like the would be the most affectionate parents. But yea, it does suck not having half your parents growing up."

Polly: "Well, it wasn't so bad back home. The entire village was our family." Polly smiles at the memory - Which, considering the pain the memory of what happened brought her, was a bit of a surprise to anyone who'd know her history. "I just wish they'd check in, ya know?"

Uselo: He matches her smile and chuckles. "Yea, it was a very special place...but camp is pretty special too. Both are family." He pauses for a second, lost in thought in. "Maybe we just have to ask in the right way. Like they can't give a response otherwise."

Polly: "Like be in mortal danger? That's the only reason Aetna spoke to me in the first place." Polly mused, smirking at the thought. "I still don't see Camp as home. I'm not sure I ever will."

Uselo: He shrugs his shoulders. "Each god may be different. Maybe Aetna needs you to offer up a bowl of lava." He grins brightly at her. "And I don't mean to force camp to be your home. Everyone there is your family, mostly on the divine side but still."

Polly: Poly can't help but laugh. "Well, I don't know about you, But I am not doing some weird ritual just to speak to my birthgiver."

Uselo: "I don't know what kind stuff I'd have to do to get my Dad's attention." He laughs as well.

Polly: "I mean, at the point of ritual, I don't think it's worth it anymore." She shakes her head in response. "I guess we'll just have to deal." Polly sighs, looking around. "But hey, I have a question. Would you ever do a mission?"

Uselo: He nears his eyes as he thinks about the question. "I suppose I could use the chance to get out and do something." He looks over at her, "You planning on trying to start one?"

Polly: "Well-- I don't know. Putting myself out there seems like a more fitting idea than just sitting here... I've trained as much as I could, so I want to help other people. So I wouldn't start one, but I might ask if I can start participating."

Uselo: He squeezes her hand a bit and looks into her eyes. "I'd want to go with you if you do go on a quest."

Polly: Polly stares back, and sighs lightly, "You know I can take care of myself, right? Not that I'm against the extra help, but we're not kids anymore."

Uselo: "I know, Polly. Guess I'm just wanting to be selfish and keep my best friend around as much as I can." He offers a soft smile.

Polly: Polly squeezes his hand in response. "Trust me, I'm not going anywhere right now. "

Uselo: He smiles at her and squeezes back, "Ok, I trust you." Pausing for a moment, "So you have any plans for the rest of the day?"

Polly: "No, not really. Why? Got an idea?"

Uselo: He fails to hide the smirk the came up. "I didn't but know all I can think of wanting to do is hanging out with you."

Polly: She grins back. "I missed you too, Uselo... I have an idea. I don't want to just sit here all day, so do you wanna explore? Go on an adventure?"

Uselo: "Now that sounds funs." He stands up and waits for here. "So where do you think our adventure shall start?"

Polly: "Oh, easy." Polly stands up, leaves some money on the table for the establishment (Tip your waiters!), and reached over to grab Uselo's hand and drag him inside. "It starts with a random direction."

Uselo: He chuckles as he follows behind her, happy to she he usual self. He catches up and walks with her, sliding their hands into his jacket pocket. "And what is that direction today, Polly?"

Polly: Polly giggles. "You don't wanna pick the direction?" She looks around for a moment, before humming to herself and heading towards the opposite way to the camp.

Uselo: He smiles at her as he follows along with her. He looks over the new stores that were up amd some still getting up. Craning his neck up to glance over the housing building the walk next to. "If you didn't have to stay at camp, where would you go?"

Polly: Polly takes a moment to thing, but eventually looks over at him. "Like, even if we were still demigods, or if we weren't?"

Uselo: He meets hear eyes after thinking for moment. "I was just thinking about as a demigod but I'm curious now what your other answer is."

Polly: "If I were still a demigod, I'd probably still be out there protecting people - I'd be like... a God-bound bounty hunter." Polly pauses for a second before laughing. "I sound dumb. But, if I weren't, but I still couldn't be home... I'd be in Miami or something."

Uselo: He chuckles a bit. "I can't say I'm surprised by either answer." He gives her hand a small squeeze, before looking up as he thought to himself. "I guess for me the answer ends up being the same either way. A secluded beach somewhere warm."

Polly: "You know, I think you'd be some famous surfer by this point. If what happened didn't happen, you'd be out in the ocean a lot more."

Uselo: He tries to stifle a laugh, failing for the most part. "I don't know about professional, definitely a enthusiastic amateur. But yea, I'd spend more time in the water than walking."

Polly: She giggles, "And my feet would stay firmly on the ground, as always."

Uselo: "Hey, we promised each other to pull the other out of their comfort zones." He flashes a bright smiles at her. "Which means surfing lessons for you."

Polly: "Maybe swimming lessons first? Because I still don't know how to swim," She answers with a smirk, right as they start getting into a less urbanized side of New Athens.

Uselo: He raises his eyebrows and nods his head to the side. "Ok, you make a fair point." He looks out at the suburban houses and smaller storefronts.

Polly: Polly looks around as well. "We're not out of town yet, so there's that."

Uselo: "We planning on taking a walk in the woods and getting lost?" He smirks just slightly.

Polly: Polly smirks. "Why not? It'll definitely be an adventure, right?"

Uselo: He laughs and can't help but nod. "You're definitely right about that."

Polly: Eventually, they'd be on the edge of the forest. As soon as they were, Polly looks over to Uselo. "Do you think we'll come across any monsters?" She asks. "I kinda wanna say the woods are safe but - I'm not the best judgement of that."

Uselo: He looks down at her before scanning the woods, shrugging. "We might, lots of demigods around here. But a lot of them are older and probably it's a mixed signal to the monsters." He gives her a honest smile with a flash of teeth. "We can handle anything if it decides to show out."

Polly: She chuckles in response. "Alright, let's go then." She answers, stepping forward to the forest. "Honestly? I just wanted to get out for a bit. Camp is sort of... Suffocating."

Uselo: He follows with her, ducking under a couple of the stray branches. "Anything you to talk about it? I know it's still part of camp technically but I can always help you get lost in the Sound if you want."

Polly: "The sound?" She asked with a confused face. "See, the issue is, I'm starting to enjoy camp. As suffocating and lonely as it can be, I'm at least trying to be more open. I made a new friend. Her name is Prim, and she's very... Loud."

Uselo: He shrugs again, "I sometimes use the sound to get away and get lost sometimes. Thought I'd offer the same to you." The mention of her new friend makes him smirk. "Loud? Sounds like she must tired you out with her pep."

Polly: Polly shrugs. "Yes and no. She's pretty great, honestly. Very sweet and upbeat, its like a breath of fresh air."

Uselo: "Glad you found a new friend." He smiles at her, "You know you're always great, but you're even better when you have that warmth in you.

Polly: She turns to him, smiling. "Well it doesn't hurt having someone like you to help me through so much." She answers.

Uselo: He squeezes her hand, his smiles matching hers. "Well, I don't plan on going anywhere without you, so you've got me to help as much as you need."

Polly: "Good, you better not leave. I'll hunt you down." She sticks her tongue out at him. Soon, they walked into a small opening. "I wonder if people usually come here."

Uselo: "Some might, but not many people like going lost." He looks up and around the clear. "It's a shame that some of the most beautiful places are the ones most people don't get to see."

Polly: "There's no fun in the beaten path." Polly answers with a shrug. Gently, she pulled him to the clearing a bit more. "I have a question for you, Uselo... Why do you enjoy hanging out with me so much?"

Uselo: He lets himself be pulled into the clearing and looking around a bit as he finds his words. "I...a lot of my world I feels, cold. And I'm used to it, like it even." He locks eyes with her, a wide smile spreading across his face. "You have been a warmth in my world, and I've lost before. I want to enjoy every moment I can get with you."

Polly: She smiles in response, eventually moving towards a spot to sit. "Well, what I mean is... Since we got here, it seems like we've had a connection, and I... Enjoy it. I can talk to you about everything..." Polly seemed to be stumbling over her own words for a bit, and her face reddening a bit. "I-- nevermind, actually. I have no idea what I'm trying to say here."

Uselo: He smiles softly as he sits down with her. When she looses her words, he picks her up and sets her on his lap, wrapping his arms around her. "I'm glad I can be there for you." He smiles even more, "You can think it over to say what you want. Like I said, I'm not going anywhere."

Polly: She sighed, resting her head on him. "Well... Do you think there could - should - be something... slightly more, with us?"

Uselo: He gets a bit red at her question, but still smiling. "I'm open to the idea. Going further into a relationship." He pulls her close and brings his forehead to hers.

Polly: Polly's smile widens. "So you have thought of it," she muses. "Really?"

Uselo: He shrugs, mostly failing to hide a smirk teasing the corner of his mouth. "It's crossed my mind a few times. And I've come to the same answer everytime."

Polly: Polly smirks mischievously, leaning a bit nore into him. "Yeah, and what's the answer?"

Uselo: "You already know what it is." He closes the little bit of distance and presses his lips to hers in a warm kiss.

Polly: Polly, rather enthusiastically, returns the kiss for a minute before finally coming up for breath, and grinning. "Well I guess that finally settles it, doesn't it?"

Uselo: "Yea. I'd say that would." He chuckles, a giddy, stupid smile glued to his face. Waiting only a few moments, he goes and kisses her again, matching her enthusiasm.

Polly: She wraps herself around him as the two embrace again. Eventually, her hands start to travel, slowly tracing Uselo's body...

Blaaaackout bc we follow wiki rules

Uselo: He breaths deep and slow as he leans against a tree, aimlessly running his fingers through Polly's hair.

Polly: As she finished fixing her shirt, she can't help but look over at him and just smile for a second. "That's not where I was expecting today to go, honestly. "

Uselo: "Me neither." Giving her a cheeky grin, "I'm not going to complain about it though." He chuckles a bit before kissing her lightly.

Polly: She giggles, and then gently hits his arm. "I can't wait to hear Paavo give us shit about this. Do you think we should wait to tell him?"

Uselo: He makes a reaction like it hurt. Laughing with her, he shrugs his shoulder. "I mean we don't have to tell him right away, but he's your twin so up to you. Don't think he'll hate me dating you" finishing with a smirk.

Polly: She laughed. "Hate? No. Relentlessly mock? More than likely! Trust me, I don't think I could take him doing the stupid K-I-S-S-I-N-G song."

Uselo: He nods, now thinking of how possible that reality is. "No you're right. I mean, we could just make out in front of him if he does. You know, play it up." He grins at her.

Polly: "I might end up threatening him a bit, but I can work with that idea," She answers which a chuckle, before leaning in and giving him another small kiss. "You sure you're OK with this?" Her brain seemed to be overworking now. It was made clear with the worry in her brows and the slight wrinkle on her forehead. "It's not out of a sense of requirement or anything?"

Uselo: He smiles with her as he returns the kiss, but her question made him confused. He brings his hand up to her face and cups it. turning her up to look at him. "Of course I would be ok with this, Polly. I said, I am never going to leave you. I say that from my heart. You know I mean it."

Polly: She smiles a bit again, resting her head on his shoulder. "Alright, I'll believe you."

Uselo: He relaxes his expression. "Here, if you still have doubts." He kisses her lips sweetly, "I love you, Polly."

Polly: Polly, smiling in response, nods. "I love you too, Uselo."

Another Reunion

Uselo: The nights are still cool, especially at the sound. Uselo had swam for a few hours to help him with some restlessness that plagued him recently. He pulls himself from the tide back onto land. Even though he can make himself dry, he likes to connection to the water on his skin and in his hair. stopping half way up the beach, he stares up the path back to camp before turning and doing a few sprints up and down the beach, nearly exhausted, he sits down on the sound, sucking in air as he looks up at the star-dotted sky.

Polly: Polly was always more comfortable with the land, rather than the water. Moreso, the beach. When Polly had walked up here, she had seen Uselo doing laps. When he had finished, she was already sitting down with her feet set into the dry sand. She watched him for a moment, waiting on him to say something with a slight smile.

Uselo: Uselo finally collects himself, able to hear all the things his gasping had drowned out. He turns looks over to where the source of the shifting sand and gently breathing. Who he sees sends his eyes wide and sends his heart up throat. "No..." saying quietly under his breath. He slowly stands up and starts to make his way over to her. "Polly? Please tell me I'm not hallucinating, right now."

Polly: Polly shrugs. "I don't think you are. I'm surprised nobody told you I was coming back. Hi." Polly pushes herself off the ground, dusting some of the sand off. "Something bothering you?"

Uselo: He doesn't say anything as he rushes to her and scoops her up in a tight hug. "Gods, it's good to see you again." It takes a moment before he realizes what he's doing and sets her back down and steps back. "Sorry about that."

Polly: Polly grunts lightly in annoyance, "Aw come on, you know I hate being picked up." Polly smirks again, and shrugs lightly, crossing her arms. "But it's OK."

Uselo: The darkness of the night hides the red on his face, but is smile spreads as far as it can and sticks. "Yea, but's been a while since I've seen you. So can you blame me?" His smile falters as he moves to answer her first question. "I guess something is. Haven't been able to sleep well lately.

Polly: Polly nods. "Well, what's been on your mind?" She asked, gesturing for them both to sit down in the sand again.

Uselo: He nods back and sits himself on the sand facing the water. Looking over at her as she sits down, "I'm not sure I really even know. Just feels like my tempo is off and I can't find it again."

Polly: Polly nods. "How long has it been off?" She stares out towards the ocean again, tilting leaning slightly on Uselo, her head on his shoulder.

Uselo: Having his friend leaning her head again him again brings a deep ping of warmth, he take a deep, slow breath in. "About a week or so  I think. I've tried spending most of my free time in the ocean. It helps of a bit but then I get out of balance again."

Polly: "Maybe that's the issue." Polly half-shrugs. "Being in the ocean so much. You need your roots. Half of them happen to be on earth."

Uselo: He raises his eyebrow but then furrows them in thought. "Maybe you're right. Haven't had much reason to be on land." He leans his head over and rests it on top of her. "But maybe you can give me a reason to stay of dry land more."

Polly: "I'm not going anywhere for a bit, hopefully." She answers. "But tell you what. Give me more of a reason to be around the ocean, and we'll spend more time on land."

Uselo: "I really hope you don't." Laughing as he continues,"I am certainly happy to do that, Polly. Maybe I'll teach you a few of my tricks with a surfboard."

Polly: She chuckles. "Just don't let me fall. I prefer my feet on solid ground. Even a surfboard is just barely cutting it."

Uselo: "Now that I can't promise. But I will always be there to help you back up." He holds out his hand to her. "Fair?"

Polly: Polly smiles in response, and reaches for his hand, gently squeezing it as she responded. "Fair."

Uselo: He holds onto her hand, happy to have his friend back. He smiles wide and stupidly at her response, enjoying the moment for a bit. "Plan on staying out here with me the whole night?"

Polly: She scrunches her nose. "I suppose not. I mean, I may have to introduce myself to even more half-siblings I don't want but... If I am planning on staying, I might as well make nice, right?"

Uselo: He thinks with her for second. "You're not wrong. There'd be a lot more time in the morning at breakfast though. Some of them might be asleep still." He looks over at her, "And I have a hammock set up. Camp out on the beach like we did when we were kids."

Polly: Polly returns the look and sighs. "Just for tonight, yeah? I can't avoid them forever."

Uselo: "Yeah, I don't plan on stealing you from your cabin. Just tonight." He smiles as he leans forward and presses his forehead against hers. "I'm glad to have you back, Polly"

Polly: "I'm glad you're still here." She replies with a sigh. "At least there's some comfortable familiarity."

Uselo: "Sounds like you had a long trip to get here. Anything you need to talk about?" He gently rubs the back of her hand with his thumb.

Polly: She thinks for a moment with a sigh before answering. "I went to visit Waikola. Tried to see what Paavo and I could do to rebuild it. It's... It was really hard."

Uselo: He furrows his eyebrows, holding onto hand tight. "But you got through it. Anything happen while you were down there?"

Polly: "Not... Really. Do you remember the young couple who had moved down the street before the incident? Did you know they went looking for us? I didn't even know anyone survived and... Nobody knows... What happened. Only we do. Only you, Paavo, and I know that Paavo and I caused it. Nobody blames us and somehow... That's worse." Polly's voice cracked a little, but she just closed her eyes, her nose scrunching a bit.

Uselo: He shifts his position, moving his arm over her as he sits behind her and pulls her in to a tight hug. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that Polly. Things happen when you're a demigod that you can't control." He attempts to find more words to help. "Time moves on like tide, and you can't let yourself get caught up in the past."

Polly: Polly can't help but chuckle. "Uselo that was.. Incredibly cheesy," She notes, finally opening her eyes and trying to wipe them.

Uselo: He smiles and reaches up and wipes one of the tears that made it out. "Then you know that I'm still me and I mean it."

Polly: "That's true." She nods, smiling once more. "You really are a beacon of familiarity for me, and I will always appreciate you for that."

Uselo: "I'm always here for you." He leans his head forward, resting his chin over her shoulder and leaning his head against hers.
