Daniel: Daniel was walking around camp, trying to get to know as many new people as he could when he saw a girl sitting on a bench reading a book. She was actually really pretty and looked almost vulnerable with the sun shining off her, beautiful. He walked up to her and introduced himself. "Hey! I'm Daniel, a son of Hermes."
Jenny: She looks up at laughs. "Hey. Sorry, you were just so unexpected. I'm Jenny, daughter of Astaeus. Nice to meet you."
Daniel: "I'm kind of new at camp, so I guess I'm just going around and introducing myself. I guess it is kind of bold..." He pauses for a second "So... what book are you reading? Oh, and who's Astaeus? I've never heard of her, is she a minor goddess?"
Jenny: "No, Astraeus is my father, the Titian of the night. And I'm reading Dante's Inferno."
Daniel: "I love that book! I took a whole class on it in school and we learned all about it. It's slightly confusing at first, but it's such a great book. What's your favorite part?"
Jenny: "I just started, so I don't know yet. Sorry. But, you can tell me all about it if you want." she slides over on the bench incase he wants to sit.
Daniel: "Nah, I don't want to spoil it. But it's really good!" He sat down next to her on the bench, "So, what's your favorite part of camp? And what part should I check out?"
Jenny: "My favorite part of camp would have to be the training arena. And I recommend seeing everything really. Just get to know camp in general."
Daniel: "Thanks a bunch! So, what's a beautiful girl like you doing out here by yourself on a bench?"
Jenny: She blushes. "Um, It's just a beautiful day and I couldn't waste inside." She shrugs.
Daniel: "Ya, it really is pretty out here. Recently, one of the nymphs showed me the lake, have you seen it? It's so beautiful with no pollution and clean and pure. I've never seen a lake like that, anywhere."
Jenny: She laughs. "Yeah, you can thank the Nyrads, and the magical protection around the camp.
Daniel: About the protection around camp, don't you think that they should allow some mortals in so that we can get standard teaching so that if we do survive we can also actually get a job and make money to help keep the camp running and express our opinions about things? I also believe that they should let parents in because it's unsafe for demigods who want to talk to their parents, which sometimes you have to do, to have to go out of camp for it, y'know?
Jenny: She shrugs. "I've never thought about it, but, yeah. I suppose so. Some of us actually stay in the mortal world. Like I am able to, but some aren't so lucky. Most demigods choose to stay here because it's a safe haven. Some kids, like yourself, can't really leave even if they wanted to. They would be attacked because their scent is stronger than those of minor gods. If you really wanted to leave, I'm sure you caould make it work. And as for parents and mortals, most don't or can't see through the mist."
Daniel: "Let's get off of this morbid topic." He smiles, "I want to know more about you like your favorite color, animal, whatever. I want to get to know as many people as I can at this new place." He pauses for a second before smiling. "Don't worry, I'm not a stalker."
Jenny: She laughs. "Well, since you asked, my favorite color is a dark blue. And my favorite animal is a TIger. What about you?"
Daniel: "My favorite color is purple. Sure it's not a MANLY color or anything, but I love the beauty of the purple sky when it shines down at night. The color is just so captivating and beautiful it's wonderful. My favorite animal is also a Tiger actually!! That's pretty awesome that we have similar interests! However, I also love leopards although I do not believe in the phrase "a leopard can't change its spots" because people can always change and its not fair to judge them just on one mistake.." He smiled, "Oops, I'm getting morbid again. So, who are your friends here?"
Jenny: "That's not morbid, but, I don't really have friends here. I mainly stick to myself. Even if I am Lieutenant of my Cabin. Have you made any new friends?"
Daniel: "Ya, I guess I've met a few people. Do you want to be my friend?" He asked hopefully.
Jenny: "Sure."
Daniel: "What's it like being the LT of a cabin?" Daniel asked Jenny, "I mean, is it hard? What do you do?" He smiled.
Jenny: She shrugs and kicks at a rock. "It's alright, but I don't do much. I might be able to be councilor because ours has disappeared. But I don't know. How many kids are in your cabin?"
Daniel: "Around 15, what about you?"
Jenny: "9 I think."
Daniel: "Wow, that's a smaller cabin. Are you planning to ever challenge to become head of the cabin or are you okay with just staying at LT?"
Jenny: "I think I'll challenge. I'll give it a few more weeks though."
Daniel: "That's cool." Daniel smiled, "So how exactly does a challenge work?"
Jenny: "Well, you have to challenge the person, and if they don't answer within two weeks, you have won. If they do answer, you have to fight them."
Daniel: '''"That's cool." Daniel smiles, "But what do you do if the person you want to challenge is on a quest or something?" He asks curious, "Do you have to wait for them to get back or can you just take over their position until they are back?"
Jenny: "Well, I am in charge while he is gone, but when or if he gets back, I relinquish power to him."
Daniel: "I get it!" Daniel smiles, "Everything is so neat and organized around here, what happens if someone refuses to relinquish the power? Then what happens?"
Jenny: "Well, I suppose we would take the problem to the director of camp..."
Daniel: "There's a director?" Daniel asked, confused, "Who is it?"
Jenny: "Alexander the Great. I've never met him."
Daniel: "Oh, so he's one of those "directors" that just pretend to run the place?" Daniel asks, smiling. "Although, his name sounds familiar.. Like something I learned about in school or something."
Jenny: "All the campers behave and Lt.'s and the Heads keep everyone in line. And Alexander the Great is one of Greece's greatest generals. He spread Greek ideas all around the Mediterranean."
Daniel: Ya, I guess. So, how's life here? Like in general? Is it different from life outside of camp at all?
