Children of Poseidon can create the octopus form, a body of water formed around the user into a protective barrier of water with eight or so whip-like limbs which can be used to grasp or strike an attacking opponent or to intercept and seize incoming projectiles. The longer this form is maintained, the more energy is drained.

Riku starts doing laps at the pool. He swims underwater, coming up for air but otherwise gracefully swimming underwater like a fish.
James: On the other side of without noticing Rika, James jumps into the pool and as fast as he can without using his powers, swims to the other end of the pool
Riku: He notices James coming and smiles, waving when James reaches his side.
James: When James surfaces, he swims over to Riku's and says "Hey"
Riku: Riku grins and laughs. "Hi."
James: "What is so funny?" James asked
Riku: He giggles. "Nothing." He replies, in between cackles. He finally stops and smiles. "What's your name? I'm Riku! Son of Eros."
James: "I'm James. Son of Poseidon" he answers
Riku: He smiles. "Neat. So, can you breathe underwater or something?" He says, smiling widely.
James: "Yeah I can" he replied back
Riku: He smiles again, "cool" he replies.
James: James gets out of the pool total dry and puts his shirt on. "I'm going back to camp, do you want to come" James asked
Riku: He shrugs. "Sure." He says, getting out and grabbing a towel.
James: "So how is being a child of Eros going for you" James said as he waited for Riku
Riku: "It's, well, for me...kind of awkward. I don't feel like I really belong. But, I will admit, the cabin is awesome and I kind of like my powers." He uncomfortably smiles. "I don't really like waking up though...the smell of chocolate freaks me out when I wake up and I think I'm back at home...and that this was all a dream, I mean. I finally found other people like me, heck I even have siblings. Back home I just had my mom and the maids and nannies, and cooks. None of them really liked me...except Ashley, she loved me, so did Bobby I think." He smiles fondly.
James: James walked out the door and kept walking into camp. When Riku caught up to him he said "It is so weird coming from a normal life into all of this"
Riku: He frowns. "Oh no, my life before wasn't normal. Well, it was in comparison to learning Greek Mythology is real and stuff, but...it was never normal." He shrugs. "Doesn't matter. What's been done, it's been done."
