Character's Powers

Powers of a Child of Nike

Offensive

  1. Children of Nike are able to channel their energy with and create a link to an object, can be a weapon or a sports related item, which causes their next attack with this object to be two times more powerful. Once used, it can not be used again on the object for the remainder of the fight and it drains the user somewhat.
  2. Children of Nike are able to clap their hands so hard and fast due to their enhanced strength that it sends a small shock-wave out. The shock-wave generates enough force to knock an opponent off their feet and possibly leaves bruises on their skin.

Defensive

  1. Children of Nike can become resistant to all types of physical attacks for a short time.
  2. Children of Nike are able to increase their speed and stealth in short bursts, making them faster than most and undetectable for a short time. However, they cannot have a weapon drawn so the speed is purely for evasion.

Passive

  1. Children of Nike are innately proficient in most forms of combat and hold a higher state of physical prowess. They wield higher levels of strength, speed, endurance and stamina than the average human.
  2. Children of Nike have innate reflexes which allow them to fight and dodge quickly.
  3. Children of Nike have the ability to predict the path of projectiles and dodge them, as well as identifying the weak points of opponents. This ability does not always work and could mislead the user, leaving them open to attacks.
  4. Children of Nike wield an amazing amount of willpower and fighting spirit, allowing them to partially resist any attempt to control their mind and resist any urge to surrender or quit.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Nike have the inhuman ability to leap great distances and perform dodge-rolls with ease, which can aid the user with dodging and attacking.
  2. Children of Nike have the ability to empower strength upon nearby allies and instill fear upon nearby enemies with a deafening war cry.
  3. Since their mother was depicted as a winged goddess, children of Nike can sprout wings for a short time, this enables them to fly; the longer they maintain this state, the more energy it drains. They must rest between flights and cannot make long distance traveling without resting often. However the wings are vulnerable to injuries and magic; they can also be customized to the user’s preference.
  4. Children of Nike can create a false illusion of what their opponent needs to do to achieve victory for a short time. This can cause an opponent to attempt foolish strategies that work against them and gives the user a chance to attack or flee.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Nike have the capability to fluidly move around on both land and air making the environment their playground allowing them to kick off almost any surface and air dash across moderate distances, swing around lampposts, maneuver their motion while airborne and grind along rails and battle enemies with speed, agility and style. Using this ability, the user can easily use their environment to their advantage, such as running up walls to escape enemies.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Nike have the power to turn an opponent’s semi-living construct and/or animal ally against them by inducing a powerful desire for victory and the idea that only the user can provide it. So they will be under the complete control of them. The more allies and constructs the user usurps control from, the more energy is drained.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Nike can draw power from all the victorious actions and desires they’ve seen, felt, or committed in their lives and become an become an embodiment of victory for a short time, in this state they are as twice as stronger and faster than before and are immune to all attacks. They emit a powerful aura which somewhat makes enemies think they are weak and doomed for failure. Once the transformation subsides and the user reverts to normal, they are immensely drained, cannot move and could possibly faint.

Traits

  1. Children of Nike are usually excellent charioteers and horse-riders.
  2. Children of Nike are often athletic and great sportsmen.
  3. Children of Nike normally love winning and are very competitive, typically being confident in their skills and wanting to show off.

Roleplay

Aurora: She had emerged from the forest, after fleeing there from several younger and extremely curious campers. Aurora winced as her back throbbed before curiously exploring the rest of the cabins, still dressed in slightly dirty and dark long-sleeved clothing.

Ryder: Jogging back and forth the shore of the lake caused him to freeze all over. He ran back to his cabin and continued using his jacket; the cold prevented him from sweating ,sadly. He drank a whole mug of coffee and shouted at his brother to go fetch the pegasus he was supposed to bring back to the stables. Then he went out again, his breath crystallizing in air, and walked to his precious spot in the forest. He saw another girl in dark clothing staggering out of the forest. He ran and called. "Hey there! You okay?"

Aurora: She whirled around at the call, breathing and heart rate suddenly spiking in terror. Aurora nodded slowly, knowing that inwardly, she wasn't. She started to cough suddenly, covering her mouth with her hand before removing it, seeing a few flecks of blood on her palm. Aurora immediately tried wiping the blood off on her jeans, but the red streaks still remained on her hand.

Ryder: The girl suddenly started coughing. He came by her side and rested his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, having colds in winter isn't very - " He noticed the blood-red streaks on her hand, and in his mind, thankfully, he panicked. Outside, he tried to be calm. "Okay, okay, you're not okay. My name's Ryder. The infirmary might help you. Mind if I take you there?" he asked, trying to not make his voice quiver.

Aurora: She immediately reacted, starting to freak out as he laid his hand on her shoulder. "Get off of me!" Aurora's voice was a panicked shriek, not used to people touching her so suddenly. She was starting to panic, and that, combined with the pain and rampaging emotions she was feeling, everything started to go south for the younger teen.

Ryder: He immediately moved away and raised his hands in defense. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Crap. Now she's mad. What to do? What to do? He then remembered his amnesiac friend who always surprise people by accident. He would always say sorry, and say something that would calm the situation. But Ryder's not good at anything like this! Ugh, whatever. At least I tried. "Okay. Really sorry, miss. But I won't be going anywhere 'til I'm sure you're all safe and sound. You're probably scared, but it's not something you should feel now that you're here. Let's say winter here is warm." Gods, what am I saying?

Aurora: Aurora was eyeing him carefully as she shook her head. "N-No infirmary."

Ryder: No infirmary? Then from whom does she want help? "Why won't you want it there? It's really helpful," he tried. A solo demigod? Apollo's? Crap, I'm not even close with them. "Anyway, miss, as much as I want to help you in a way you'd be fine and good, you have to go to the infirmary. Don't worry; everyone there's nice. I'll accompany you." He reached out a hand. "If you will, just take my hand."

Aurora: She reached out her hand for Ryder's, sleeve riding up as she did so. The bare skin revealed was covered in bruises in the shapes of restraints, Aurora not noticing it. "O-Okay."

Ryder: He held her hand tight, and discerned the dark marks on her skin. That's bad. He almost said it out loud, and he pretended not to notice. He pulled her slowly and carefully, and led the way after letting her hand go. "So, would it be okay for you to tell your name? Or . . . never mind." Better not dive in more.

Aurora: Aurora followed Ryder to the infirmary, speaking quietly. "Aurora. My name is Aurora." Once they reached the infirmary, Aurora stopped at the base of the stairs, shaking her head. Her leg and ankle were hurting that she couldn't put pressure on them to climb the stairs.

Ryder: "Oh, okay. Hi, then, Aurora." He climbed up three steps when he noticed no one was following him. He went back and stood across her. "Is there any problem?"

Aurora: Aurora shook her head, taking the steps slowly as she inhaled sharply in pain at the pressure. The infirmary wasn't a building she liked a lot, but knew that it had to be bad if he insisted on it.

Ryder: He stayed a bit behind her for support. Stepping up seemed to hurt her. "Uh, well, Aurora, I wondered . . . never mind. Do you want me to carry you up the stairs? Y'know, to lessen the pain . . .?" She's surely going to reject it.

Aurora: She had finally reached the top of the porch, starting to sway slightly on her feet as the pain returned. Aurora looked at Ryder, before dropping her gaze to the ground, afraid to ask for more of his help.

Eilis: The Apollo camper had spotted the two campers just outside, straightening from where she was bent over a bed, working on the sheets, and quickly approached the two. "Can I help you two?" Eilis' red hair was tied back into a shoulder braid as she looked from Ryder to Aurora.

Ryder: "Um, hi there, miss!" Is she a new one, too? He stood near Aurora, in case. "We do need some help," he replied. Then he whispered to Aurora, "Hey, c'mon. You gotta rest."

Eilis: Eilis caught the wince and quickly spoke. "Let's get you inside before you collapse." The older camper instructed, gently guiding Aurora into the infirmary, gesturing for Ryder to follow her in. "Mind laying down for me?" Eilis turned to Ryder, eyes curious. "Do you know what's wrong?"

Aurora: She looked at Ryder with a scared expression before wincing suddenly. Aurora obeyed Eilis' instructions and laid down on the bed, eyeing Ryder with a scared expression the entire time.

Ryder: He scratched his head. "Uh, well, I don't really know anything. I just saw her emerging from the woods, and it was really cold outside. She seemed to be in pain, maybe her back and arms. She, well. . . . um, she also had some bruises in her wrists so . . .I don't really know."

Eilis: She nodded, turning back to Aurora. "Would you mind telling me exactly where your pain is and injuries are?" Eilis gently pulled up Aurora's shirt and sleeves, freezing at seeing the injuries, covering the younger girl's stomach, chest, and arms. The bruises were now easy to see that they were from restraints. "Holy s**t."

Aurora: She whimpered, trying to push Eilis off.

Ryder: "O-Okay, calm down. Calm down!" He went by Aurora's side and took her hand, rubbing it warmly. It was something a friend of his always did when he was scared. "Hey, it'll be fine, alright? I'll-I'll stand by; I'll wait, okay?" He then looked up at the other camper. "Um, miss, thank you for checking, but could you maybe keep it down, for her? It's better to help her forget about it for now."

Aurora: She whimpered, calming down slowly as he rubbed her hand and arm. Her eyes slowly opened from when they had closed, meeting Ryder's with her deep bluish-grey irises. Her voice was a low whisper, only loud enough for Ryder to hear. "D-D-Do you think that you can get her to go away?" Aurora meant the healer, who was working on Aurora's file at this moment in time.

Eilis: She nodded, stepping back and reaching over for a bottle of nectar and pouring some into a cup, pausing before handing it to Ryder. "She'll need to drink that, and since I don't think she'll let me any closer, I think she'll take it from you."

Ryder: "Uh, yeah, sure," he replied. Turning to the other camper, he took the cup and thanked her. "Miss, would you leave us for a moment. You've been really helpful alright," he said.

Eilis: She nodded, turning to exit the infirmary, closing the door behind her as she did so.

Aurora: The younger girl let out a sigh of relief as she pushed herself up, slowly, into a sitting position. "T-Thank you." Aurora murmured, coughing again slightly as she looked at Ryder, who was holding the cup. "W-What's that?" She asked, meaning the golden liquid inside the glass cup.

Ryder: "That was easy," he mused. He found a stool chair and brought it closer to the bed, and sat on it. "It's nectar. Food of the gods. Heals demigods and all." He made funny gestures such as shrugging and rolling of eyes while stating each sentence. "Too much it'll burn you. But this'll be enough to make you feel better." He brought the cup closer to Aurora.

Aurora: She took the cup slowly, looking down into the nectar before starting to drink it slowly. She tasted ice cream, and continued to drink. By the time she was done, which wasn't that far off, the cup was drained completely and she nestled back into the pillows behind her. "It tasted like ice cream... is that normal?"

Ryder: He chuckeld lightly. "Well, the nectar takes the taste of your favourite food. It's magic," he replied. "So, you feeling good?

Aurora: She smiled at his chuckle, feeling already at ease around Ryder. Aurora sighed, gently looking down to her wrists and watching as the bruises slowly faded. "Those were fairly new. From my mother and all."

Ryder: "Your mother?" he repeated. I want to hear her story, but it's better to keep silent. "I guess your story's pretty bad but don't worry. Camp can sometimes give you what you need the most, may not it be immediately, but you'll find it."

Aurora: She knew when the other teens wanted more details, and took a deep breath, launching into her story. She spoke for several minutes, throat getting sore but still continuing, only hesitating at the start of the abuse. Everything that had been done to her came out as she started to cry, burying her head into her hands, afraid that Ryder would think that she was weak or unable to defend herself.

Ryder: He almost panicked when she started crying. "Hey, Aurora, it's alright." He took her hands and held them. "I'm sorry. You didn't have to tell it to me about it. If you didn't want to, it's okay. Not my right to know such things. Anyway . . ." He knew he didn't know what to do in those situations. What to do? "Never mind. You know what, after you're feeling well, I'll give you a tour around the Camp. It'll help you calm down."

Aurora: She sniffed, nodding. "A-Alright. Alright." Aurora voiced, leaning into the older teen just barely. "You're a lot better than the first person I told this to. They turned on me."

Ryder: "Uh-huh, thanks, then. Y'know, for kind of trusting me," he said. "Do you feel cold?" he asked when he saw a thicker blanket nearby.

Aurora: She nodded, nestling into the older teen even more.

Ryder: Without minding to get up, he reached for the blanket and covered Aurora's body with it. "You feeling better?"

Aurora: She nodded, resting her head on Ryder's shoulder before letting out a low sigh, not letting go of the older boy. "S-Stay?"

Ryder: He thought of his schedule. "Sure. I've got nothing to do, anyway, he replied, wrapping an arm around her. "Do you need something else, or do you wanna hear  . . . a story?" He grinned.

Aurora: She tilted her head, a slight smile forming. "Story, please."

Ryder: He cleared his throat. "Okay. Once upon a recent time, me and my stepbrother who I'm closest to went walking by the shore of the lake. It was a bright day, and the campers were all in a fuss. Unfortunately, for us, it was a boring day. Another friend of ours came by, and we decided to do something . . . stupid. You see, we have this friend that has amnesia, and he doesn't bother if we bother him. So we trudged up to him, and found him reading a book in a language I don't understand, and showed ourselves to him with surprised and shocked reactions, like we had some really bad news."
