Catching Up

  • Laz: Laz yawned and stretched as he walked out of his cabin, he'd had a late night, partly because Fynn, a child of Hecate, had finally dropped off the enchanted item that Laz needed in order to be able to keep food in his room. Though it wasn't as permanent solution as he'd hoped for, Fynn would have to drop by once a week to recharge the enchantment so it would keep working. Just another reason to despise his god parent he supposed. After Fynn left he decided to go into town and stock up on things, but he ended up getting quite side tracked, anyone following mortal local news would be reading about female Jane Doe found in an alley way. Beaten, bloodied, mutilated, raped. No DNA evidence, her teeth pulled out, her fingers chopped off. It was his first kill since he'd killed Benny's mentor and made it look like it was from battle wounds. It had felt good, like itching a scratch that had been plaguing him for weeks. He looked around trying to decide if he should go look for Benny, it was finally really warm out, warm enough he decided to just go out in his sandals, cargo shorts and a dark red short sleeved polo shirt. His hair was still wet and messy from the shower he'd taken when he rolled out of bed. Part of him was glad that Benny was becoming more independent and less glued to him, but another part was surprisingly jealous, way more jealous than he was comfortable with. He should be more in control of his emotions, and he feared his emotions towards Benny were starting to get beyond his control. He'd just swing by and check on him, he'd act busy, like he didn't care that Benny was making all sorts of friend, yea, totally indifferent, because that's what Laz was, indifferent. With another yawn Laz set off towards the Hebe cabin.
  • Benny: He stretches. It's a bright sunny day at Camp Half-Blood. Benny had been quite busy over the past few days; making friends with Wil, Theo and Tyler, getting his first kiss, learning how to properly use a sword and develop his powers. The son of Hebe feels better than he had done in a long time, but all the exertion makes him sleep like a baby, well past his normal breakfast time. He snuggles his plush toys for some time, before he drags himself out of bed. After a quick breakfast and shower, Benny is about to go out when he forgets his dinosaur bracelet. Wrestling with the toys in his room, he eventually finds it and slips the bracelet over his arm, when he sees Lazarus walking towards his cabin door. He answers, his hair still wet. "Morning...." He yawns. "Um, should I get my practice stuff, or do you just wanna say hi?" Benny scratches the side of his head. He's dressed in his normal clothes, an orange CHB t-shirt, his bracelet, jeans and his cartoon sneakers. "Come in. Um, my room is a little messy, but I'll find it. I've been outside for the past week."
  • Laz: He raises an eyebrow, Benny always had a way of amusing him on levels he didn't know possible, anyone else and the sloppiness and disorganisation and immature moments and all that would annoy Laz. Not that he wasn't ever annoyed by Benny, but with Benny it was just different, like he was willing to tolerate more just to be with him. "Yea sure we can practise today, well presuming you find your gear." He grins and chuckles as he follows Benny into his room. "Oi mate, you do realise you'd find things quicker if you picked up once and awhile." He laughs half poking fun and half meaning it.
  • Benny: His room is fairly simple; four pastel walls, a large wooden floorspace and a sliding glass door which opens onto the courtyard. Laz should be able to hear the sound of running water and bird-song from inside the cabin gardens. "Um, sorry." Benny tramples through his toys, tossing his toys and plushies to the side. There's little organisation except a single bookshelf where some model airplanes, and a lego model of the cabin have been placed, very carefully. "I'd clean, but I've had no time. There were flying lessons, and parkour, and cleaning is boring anyways." Benny sticks his tongue out, acting like he's just been scolded by an older brother. Crawling underneath his bed, he pulls out a moderate sized gym bag with his armour and his other gym stuff. "Gotcha." He grins merrily. "Let's go. I think I'm getting better. I, even got to ride a harpy last week."
  • Laz: He stops to catch his breath due to the fact that the image of Benny 'riding' a harpy caused him to have uncontrollable laughter, which was very rare for Laz. Between trying to turn and follow Benny out of the room, remembering to breathe and trying to contain his laughter, he was starting to move more like a drunk guy having an asthma attack. "What....a....really.....<laughlaugh>....a... harp.....y....." He takes a few deep breathes to try and regain his composure and almost gets there, "Please tell me someone took a picture.....!!!"
  • Benny: "Hey. That's no fair." Benny interrupts, stifling his giggles. "You taught me to use anything to my advantage." He smirks mischievously. "They're really not comfortable. She almost smacked me right into the labyrinth walls. I could have died..." He giggles. "I think I looked dashing, like a mighty knight in one of those old British storybooks..." He sticks out his tongue, deliberately playing up the spoiled brat.
  • Laz: He smiles and chuckles, far more composed now, "I don't know about a mighty knight, perhaps a squirrely squire. You may not want to tell that story too loudly though, not sure how the cleaning harpies would like the idea of a demigod riding one, even if it was something conjured during training and not a real harpy." He wonders what one of the cleaning bitches would actually do if they found out, it might be fun to try to convince Benny they were after him for it.
  • Benny: Benny seems fairly pleased with himself, until Laz drops the bombshell about the cleaning harpies. "Um, wait? We have cleaning harpies..." His expression is fairly blank, but it's evident that he is worried. Maybe that's why all my stuff goes missing. "Shall we, um...get out of here?" He scratches the back of his neck, eager for some fresh air.
  • Laz: He laughs and nods, "They like to keep to themselves, usually clean at night and when people aren't around." He starts heading out of the cabin and towards the training arenas, "Besides you're a mighty knight remember, they should tremble at the sight of you." He sticks out his tongue at Benny in a playful way, something he's not used to but something always comes over him when he's with Benny. "So did you want the regular dirt arena for training or did you want to use one of the fancy arenas?"
  • Benny: "Oh." He blushes, gently pushing Lazarus to the side. "Meanie," Benny sticks his own tongue out in response, as they head through the camp and towards the training arenas. "You're jealous because I'm a brave squire, and you're just an old man." He grins and cheekily tries to tickle Laz before he can respond. "Um, I don't mind. It's a nice day, so the normal one would be fine I guess." Benny shrugs. "I haven't been to any of the fancy arenas yet..."
  • Laz: He rolls his eyes when Benny tries to tickle him, but still can't manage to hide a grin, annoyed that Benny can always make him smile he changes the topic back to the matter at hand and tries to focus on that, "Wow, really? The god's really outdid themselves with them. I've heard some campers compare them to that bloke's blue police box in some British television show, bigger on the inside. It's bloody brilliant the detail and amount of things they crammed in to such small spaces." He shrugs, not really caring which arena they used
  • Benny: Benny seizes his victory. He grins cheekily, and walks beside Lazarus, with his hands in his jean pockets. "Yeah, I've explored the streams which lead to the arenas, but never the arenas themselves. Are they really that big?" He shrugs his shoulders, pretty easy about the whole training scenario. "Um, do you think I'm ready to train in one of the fancy arenas?" Despite his confidence boost over the past couple of weeks, he's still unsure of himself, at least around Laz. "They sound pretty awesome, but a knight has to be careful around his squire..."
  • Laz: He shrugs, "I don't really see much of a difference between there and out in the open, well...." He pauses, "I guess there's more opportunities for using powers. The regular open dirt arena some powers are limited, not for everyone, more the nature related ones I suppose, but real life fights won't generally take place in a neat little open spaced area with nothing around so it would be good to start learning to fight in situations that would be more apt to actually take place. There's the rural/city arena, a whole abandoned city crammed neatly into an arena. That's where the whole bigger on the inside happens, on the outside it's just the size of a normal arena, but then once you enter....." He pauses again, not really sure how to describe something he doesn't at all understand the science or magic behind, "Well it's magic godly shit at work I don't really get how it works, just that it is what it is." He shrugs as they near the regular dirt arena which is closer than the other arenas, "So decide now, we stop here or move on to one of the fancier ones....
  • Benny: "Um sure...." Benny shrugs his shoulders, and carefully listens. He's already pretty well trained for his age, but it couldn't hurt him to do more training with someone like Laz who had years of experience fighting monsters. "That sounds awesome! Is it a model city like the town in the Indiana Jones movie where he gets trapped and has to jump into the fridge to survive?" He asks, his curiosity getting the better of him. "Yeah, I suppose I'll have a go." He says, trying to boost his own confidence. Please mom, let me do a good job and make you proud. "Thanks for teaching me. It means a lot that you're happy to take over Alex's training." I hope I make him proud too, wherever his soul now resides.
  • Laz: He nods and smiles, "It's the least I could do, and you're a good student, you pick up things fairly quickly, I like that." When they reach the entrance to the urban arena Laz checks to make sure it's open to use and that no one has the time reserved, "Looks good to go, I think you'll find it's a bit more vast than the tiny little fake town in Indiana Jones, it probably looks more like Atlanta after an apocalypse when it's abandoned and nature has taken hold on things."
  • Benny: Blushing, Benny follows Lazarus along. He wants to give his friend a hug, but it feels awkward for some reason. He resolves to do well in the arena instead. "Cool. Maybe I'll find a toy store or get to go scavenger hunting on the way..." His eyes are lit with enthusiasm, as they enter the outskirts of the Urban Arena.
  • Laz: He chuckles, it was just like Benny to somehow turn this into toy hunting, "Well the gods spared no details so you may just find that and more. So how do you want to start out, I could give you a head start, close my eyes, count to 50, let you set up a defensive position somewhere..." He looks around taking note of all the areas, he'd only been in this arena once before. It had everything an urban area might have, outskirts that were more spread out with homes and parks, an industrial area with warehouses and work sites, a downtown area with tall skyscraper buildings and abandoned businesses, it even had an abandoned subway station under the ground. Then of course there was all the overgrowth, abandoned cars, garbage and all sorts of things that dotted the area.
  • Benny: "Basically you want to play a game of hide and seek...?" Benny looks around. The arena is truly bigger in comparison to anything that he's ever seen before. There are skyscrapers in the near distance, covered with ivy. The streets are littered with burnt out cars and whatever people forgot to clear away. "Whoa....." He gasps, getting distracted for a moment. "They really weren't messing around when they made this place..." He paces around Lazarus. "Sure, but no cheating." Benny giggles, making note of the zones around him. His light blue eyes glance around, looking for somewhere to hide.
  • Laz: He grins, "it's not like I can fly or see through walls so, you should be good, let's just hope you ate before you left, wouldn't want you to be suddenly excruciatingly hungry out there." He winks at Benny and then walks over to an old rusty junked Chevy Lumina car and plops himself down on the hood, "Ok I'm closing my eyes now." He closes his eyes. "better make it counting to 100, you have short legs, wouldn't want to start too soon." He grins and starts counting....."1.........2..........3.......etc"
  • Benny: "Hey! My legs aren't that short...." Benny yells, giggling as he runs away. His enhanced youth means that he should be able to cover a large distance in the time allotted. He heads towards one of the more residential areas of the map, where the estates are more spread out. The son of Hebe spots a series of large mansions nearby, and crawls under a nearby fence to gain rudimentary access. He climbs through an open window on the ground floor and looks for a defensible position.
  • Laz: "....97....98......*yawns*......fuck what was I on......93.....94.......95......96......*slaps at a fly*.....95.....96.....97.....98......*yawns* .....96....97.....98.....99.....100." He yawns again and stands up, realising he hadn't geared up yet, he opens up his gym bag and tosses on his gear. He has his twin swords at his back, 3 throwing daggers strapped to each thigh and a mechanical hand crossbow on his left wrist. He walked around the area where Benny had started from, normally it would be impossible to track anyone at all on city streets, but with all the over growth and vegetation Laz was about to make out feint signs enough to tell that Benny had gone towards a residential area, though the signs of his passing were few and far between so it made tracking rather slow, but Laz made sure to keep his attention equally focused on listening just in case Benny had laid a trap for him. He finally came to a street with very long driveways leading to rather beautiful mansions, at least they probably were beautiful before they were made to look dilapidated. Knowing Benny he'd probably gone into one of them to find a defensible position, the question was, which one.....
  • Benny: While Lazarus put on his gear, Benny also takes out his gear out of the gym bag. He puts on his light CHB armour, tucks his slingshot in the back of his jeans and slips on his dinosaur bracelet which would transform into a sword when needed. His ambrosia and a bag of marbles are held in another pocket. He scours the mansion briefly. Knowing Lazarus, he's likely to gain entry with relative ease. In response, Benny decides to prepare as best he can. He's currently in a dining room, where there's a large Steinway piano. He activates his sword and takes a look inside. Carefully cutting out enough piano wire, he sets a near invisible tripwire near the open window and rigs a couple of low-hanging chandeliers to fall, if the link between the wire and the chain that held them were severed. Heading for the front door, he finds a couple of empty paint-cans. Seems like they were renovating the place. Knowing that Laz could gain entry by rotting or eating his way through the door, he strings up the paint-cans to the opening mechanism. Hopefully, if the door's tampered with, in any way, they would drop onto Lazarus or at least fall to the ground and give Benny further time to prepare. Thanks Dad for making me watch Home Alone every Christmas. It may just pay off.
  • Laz: He scans one of the places and decides that there's no visible way under and he knew the fence would be impossible for Benny to climb so he moves on to the next place. After a few minutes he notices a place in the fence that looked like it had been recently crawled under, fresh dirt turned over and some grass moved. It didn't look big enough for him to get under, so he opted to do the hard climb over the fence. In the process he ends up getting a small cut on his hand from the sharp metal at the top. Finally landing on the other side, he crouches and looks around the property, checking to see the best way to go to the house. Seeing a large climbable oak tree on the right side of the house giving access to a third floor balcony. He heads that way, trying to avoid being seen by keeping to the tall grass and bushes. Once at the tree he climbs up and over to the third floor balcony. He debates breaking the glass doors that lead in to a master bedroom, but doesn't want to make any noise so instead he pulls a lock picking set that he always carries in his pockets and picks the lock open. Sliding his set back into his pockets he enters the room and looks around. It was a nice room, way nicer than what he had at the Limos cabin, he wondered if anyone would notice if he started living in the Arena. Casting those thoughts aside he makes his way across the room and peers quietly out the door, from there he could see the top of a staircase and bannister leading down to the second floor, he tries to listen for any sounds that Benny might make to gauge where in the house he is.
  • Benny: The son of Hebe is quiet as a mouse, as he continues to search the rest of the house. He heads straight upwards to the second floor. He's searching through a playroom which appears to have belonged to a young boy. Leftover toys are scattered across the floor. He finds some fire-crackers, and a lighter in a nearby toolbox. "Cool...." He whispers to himself. He peers quietly out the door to check if Lazarus is there, as he hasn't had the chance to check out the upper bedrooms. Spotting Lazarus for a brief second, Benny quickly takes another door to the attached bedroom. This appears to have been his bedroom. He lights a couple of the firecrackers as a distraction and tosses them across the hall to create a distraction. Running as fast as possible, he heads down the stairs once again, trying to stay out of sight as he heads towards the foyer.
  • Laz: Hearing the sudden movement below him, he actually felt a bit relieved cuz at least he knew he'd picked the correct mansion. He creeps to the edge of the bannister and peers down just in time to see Benny darting out of sight on the first floor. He grins, it was nice not to have to really put effort into a fight, Benny was good but not good enough that Laz could go full on yet. He moves down to the second floor and peers down cautiously towards the first floor. He wouldn't put it past Benny to have traps, he had quite a bit of time here before Laz showed up, so he wasn't willing to go barrelling in guns blazing. As he nears the first floor landing he peers carefully around the corner and decides to project the power that causes a person to see whatever foods they desire the most, which if he knew Benny at all, was probably going to be piles and piles of candy all around him. "Hey Benny, did you remember to eat before we came out?" He calls out toying with Benny.
  • Benny: As Lazarus speaks, piles and piles of candy appear all over the mansion. There's even a giant churn, filled with what looks like neapolitan ice-cream. Knowing that Laz was a son of Limos, Benny grits his teeth. "Hey, that's not fair! Come out and fight, or are you scared old man?" He says, having a miniature tantrum as the lack of sugar becomes pretty clear. He takes out his slingshot, and draws his CB ammunition. He pulls back, and spotting a high-rise window above the stairwell, aims a couple of shots to try smash it. If successful the broken glass should fall near Lazarus, and distract him for some time. "Catch me if you can..." He giggles, passing the piles of candy as he runs down the hallway, searching for another exit.
  • Laz: He laughs at Benny's Frustration, but then cringes and covers his head as the shattered window rains glass down on him, "Oi, you could put an eye out...." He calls out while laughing at the same time. Once he was sure there was no more glass, he steps out into the foyer and brushes a few flakes of glass out off his clothes. Still seeing Benny as an easy target, he takes his time and just slowly jobs in the direction that Benny went, he continues to taunt Benny verbally and calls out, "I thought you liked candy, don't you want to stop and try some?"
  • Benny: “I'm not a stupid kid. It's know it's not real candy...” Benny pokes his head around the corner, as Lazarus slowly walks down the hallway, and sticks his tongue out. He reaches in his pocket for his bag of marbles, and scatters them across the floor. Afterwards, Benny sends a curse to make Laz's bones and muscles ache and lock together, hopefully buying him some more time, as he looks for an exit. Finding a small cubbyhole in one of the master bedrooms, he figures out that it’s a dumb-waiter of some sort. Maybe this will get me out. Tossing out the owner’s best Ming Dynasty china, the son of Hebe crowds into the small space instead and activates the pulleys which would make him descend towards the kitchen. He holds one of the ropes, and grits his teeth. "Here goes nothing..."
  • Laz: Laz just laughs at Benny as the marbles scatter across the floor ahead, his lack of focus and effort finally kicks him in the arse because he wasn't at all prepared for Benny's sudden curse, it hits Laz the hardest just as he starts taking his first steps through the now marble scattered mine field. As his right foot hits the floor and starts taking his weight, he can suddenly feel the joints in his leg creak and wobble. His eyes grow wide with surprise and when his left foot comes down in what feels like an eternity but in reality is just seconds, the pain that surges up his sciatic nerve causes his entire body to jolt in pain and his back to arch as the pain ends in his lower back. This causes him to not even look where his next step falls, which of course is right on top of a lonely little marble, before he could even gasp out in pain, he found himself flat on his backside with another marble jabbing into his arse, "Oi bloody bastard, I'll get you for this." He calls out, half impressed, half annoyed and partly laughing as well. By the time he finally gets back on his feet and into the room that Benny went in to, the dumb waiter was long on its way down to the ground floor. Grumbling to himself as he rubs out some of his muscles, partly praying for the pain to subside already, knowing he can't fit in the dumb waiter to follow that way, he heads back out of the room and looks for the stairs.
  • Benny: The dumb waiter safely brings him to the kitchen. As he slides open the door, Benny hears a loud bang upstairs, followed by several cuss words. Benny giggles. "Gotcha," Doing an arm pump, he crawls out and scours the kitchen. It's fairly big, and connects with the dining room and the hall, which shows the architect's thankfully followed some kind of logic. I've gotta be quick. The curse should've worn off by now. Scrambling around the kitchen, Benny is able to catch his breath. Surprisingly the water pipes still work, and he's able to take a quick drink. The water tastes metallic, and he makes a face in response. Running to the foyer, Benny quickly ties another tripwire across the bottom of the stairs, using the last of his piano wire. His nimble fingers allow him to do the job without much trouble. Then, he runs behind one of the dining room walls for cover, and draws his slingshot. "You're not gonna be able to catch me...." Peeking out towards the stairwell, he waits for any sign of movement, glancing briefly behind him to check his exits and make sure his traps were still in place, just like Alex taught him. Always know your exits.
  • Laz: He finds the stairs that lead to the ground floor and slowly starts making his way down them, by the time he nears the bottom the aching muscles has worn off. He stops a few steps from the bottom and rubs his left knee a bit and notices that his hand is bleeding again from when he where he cut it on the fence, apparently falling had reopened the cut a bit. From where he stands he can see the foyer and that no one is in it, he can't hear anything but he assumes Benny is in one of the rooms off the foyer, or perhaps deeper. He takes the next few steps so slowly that when he comes to the trip wire it only partially throws him off balance, he's able to keep from completely falling on his arse but does manage to turn his neck awkwardly pulling the muscles a bit in the attempt to keep himself from falling. "Oi you and your bloody traps." He draws his swords, deciding to stop with the funny business and storms across the foyer and towards the dining room.
  • Benny: As Lazarus stops part way down the stairs, Benny sees him through the gaps in the stairs. He briefly channels his youth to make himself quicker and stronger for a short amount of time. Taking a deep breath like he was taught, he quickly fires a couple of CB balls straight for Lazarus' head, hoping to further disorient him. "Um, maybe if you were quicker, you'd be able to catch me." Benny knows that he can't take the son of Limos head on, and backtracks down the ballroom. As he runs away, the son of Hebe deliberately triggers several of the traps he has lain. If Lazarus is following him, several glass chandeliers should come crashing towards the ground and distract him, or at least cause some more trouble while he found another exit. There were a couple of choices, he could take the basement in the kitchen or escape through a nearby window towards the mansion gardens. Stay calm. You can do this.
  • Laz: He chuckles to himself, it was always more fun when he didn't actually care about winning the fight, especially when it was Benny who needed to learn, "Just remember who buys you lots of candy...." He calls out as he manages to use his swords to strike the projectiles away from his face. Swords had always come naturally to Laz, but that's probably part to his upbringing in the 1800s and his preference for knives and swords, they always made the kill more personal, and he liked that. As he makes his way across the Ballroom, back at a slightly slower pace allowing Benny to get some distance on him, he suddenly feels his leg pull at a wire of some sort but not trip him, he only had enough time to duck and cover his head before the chandelier came crashing down, glass shattering, brushing himself off he continued on but even slower, so that this time the next trap he triggers he's faster and able to do a forward roll away from the falling second chandelier. He stands and manages to avoid the last trap all together, he calls out again, "Benny lad, you realise you can't run and hide forever right, one of these days you're going to have to learn hand to hand combat." He grins enjoying the chase.
  • Benny: "Yeah I do, my dad...." Benny teases. He uses the last of his enhanced speed to avoid the glass chandeliers as they crash to the ground. As he knows their precise location, he's able to dash across the ballroom/dining room without much incident. He knows that he can't keep running forever, but he also knows Lazarus has at least a century of experience on him. C'mon give me a break... He heads towards the bay windows at the other side of the room. He quickly launches and fires a few CB balls to smash the nearest window and jumps through. Miscalculating the landing, he stumbles, and falls down a grassy verge nearby. The kid picks up momentum, ending up halfway down the field. He takes a few bruises, but his accelerated healing has already started to work on the minor wounds. He stands up, dusts himself off and looks for any sign of Lazarus. The son of Hebe was near the edges of the estate. Okay, I'm sorry. I'll figure something out... His blue eyes glance towards his surroundings. Overgrown trees and bushes overlook the road, and there are several fancy houses adjacent to him. He begins to climb up one of the bushes, trying to get a better read on his location.
  • Laz: He stops at the window that Benny lept out just in time to notice that he stumbled the landing, Laz calls down "Tsk Tsk what do I keep telling you about ducking then rolling when you go flying out windows." He grins and suddenly finds himself sticking his tongue out at Benny, an act that he'd normally find childish and beneath him, but something about Benny seemed to be bringing out a side of Laz that not even Laz knew existed, at times it made it surprisingly difficult to keep his lies straight when he was around Benny. Calculating the crop, he uses his sword to swipe away some of the bits of glass that were still clinging to the sides of the window. He positioned himself carefully, his swords back in their sheathes, and did a forwarding leap, tuck, land, roll, leaping back up to his feet on the recovery. If there was one thing that Laz excelled at more than using dual swords, it was his parkour abilities, probably from growing up in a time before modern transportation and always finding himself in trouble with the bobbys, it was always his ability to run fast and get away that kept him avoiding capture. He watches from a distance as Benny scrambles up the large bushy tree area, so he decides to send some bolts, making sure to aim at areas that wouldn't be at all lethal (shoulders, arms, legs), he sends 3 bolts in quick succession, the bolts being much smaller than full size crossbow bolts, about the length of a pen with small celestial bronze tips.
  • Benny: "That's not my fault..." Benny retorts back. Lazarus moves gracefully, he's impressed by how quick he's moving. It takes him a couple of seconds to calculate that crossbow bolts have been fired for his shoulders, arms and legs. He takes a hit in the back of his shoulder. His armour mitigates most of the damage, but the pain causes him to lose concentration and fall down the other side of the hedge. He isn't that high, so he performs a roll to break his fall. The other two bolts sail right above his head. Ugh. Why do I have to be such a klutz? Pulling the bolt out of his back, he tries to snap it in his hands to prevent Lazarus from using it again and tosses it into the hedge. Keep moving. He moves as fast as possible, using several outmoded cars as cover. Once he's a fair distance from the nearby suburban area, he darts down a narrow passageway, takes a left turn, then a right and crawls through a narrow gap in a metal fence towards a more built-up part of the arena. He moves through an old block of flats, which is literally falling apart.  Finding alcohol and some rags in the kitchen, Benny douses the rag in alcohol and cleans out his entry wound so it can seal itself up. Trekking the vast space thanks to his enhanced youth, he comes across some old-fairy lights which he uses to set a couple of tripwires, attached to key areas such as the doors, and the stairs. One nefarious tripwire near the stairs is connected to an automatic tennis-ball server. He finds a sheltered position on a stairwell and takes a second to recover. Phew that was close...
  • Laz: He watches as Benny scrambles off deeper into the arena in the direction of the more city like parts. He yawns and looks up at the sky, it must be past dinner time by now, his stomach rumbles a bit as if answering Laz's thoughts. He scratches the back of his head and checks his hand, it wasn't bleeding any more but he was starting to feel achy from all the excitement thus far so he decides to take a piece of ambrosia, he didn't bring much on him as he doesn't particularly like the stuff but he figured he had enough for one more use if he needed it, and if he needed more maybe he would just toss on the charm, surrender and ask Benny for some. He starts walking slowly, then decides instead of following Benny directly he'd take the driveway out onto the road, he'd had enough climbing for a bit. As he walks towards the general direction he saw Benny take off on he started to admire how fast Benny could be if he wanted. Usually the only things Benny moved fast for was meal time, new games or the prospect of candy, but Benny was really starting to come into his own since coming to camp. What Laz couldn't figure out was why he cared at all what happened to Benny or how he was progressing. He'd never cared about anyone before that he recalled, he loved his mother once, until she disgusted him by her whoring herself out for money, and then getting knocked up was the final straw. Despite all the years that had passed he could still recall how he felt when he knocked her out from behind, and then later the feel of her warm blood as he cut the thing in her stomach out of her, ripping through muscle and flesh to get to it. It was still too undeveloped to make any noise as he brought the child into the world, and he had tossed it aside without another thought, and walked away leaving his dead mother where she laid.
  • Benny: Benny takes a breather. His tummy rumbles a little. He's fairly hungry, but he resists the urge to conjure ambrosia in case he needs it for later. He knows that his hit and run tactics rely on him waiting for an opportunity and keeping well hidden, but it may not be a good idea to be hungry around a Limos kid. Still, he feels that he's doing pretty well. His wounds have already begun to heal, and he decides to take the stairs and scout the next floor. The concrete block is pretty high, so he would have quite a good view of the arena, even though he's only a couple of floors up. He spots a figure heading towards him. He ducks beneath a couple of washing lines and crouches behind a nearby wall. His stomach grumbles once again. As he takes watch, he loads some CB ammo in his slingshot and waits.
  • Laz: About a block from where Benny happens to be (as Laz can't see him yet) he notices a wallet on the sidewalk in a pile of other misc papers and trash and stops to pick it up, curious if there's anything worth while in it. There's 5 quid, a debit card, a picture of some blonde chick and a guy that vaguely looks familiar, and the license reads Colum McLoughlin. He looks through the other sections of the wallet, when he's done he pockets it in his back pocket and looks around, "Oh benny boy, the pipes the pipes are callllling...."
  • Benny: As Lazarus speaks, Benny gets a chill down his spine. Looking briefly over the wall, he sees Lazarus looking around. He quickly crouches down again, drawing his slingshot, before he peeks over the concrete wall and fires a couple of rounds to lure Lazarus towards the apartment blocks, where he's set a few traps and surprises. He swiftly runs off, turning a corner and taking the stairs once again, moving up to the third floor. "You can't get me...." The son of Hebe waits once he reaches the stairwell, as it gives him a natural chokepoint should Laz choose to pursue him up the crumbling stairs.
  • Laz: The shots miss by a bit, but clearly enough to give Laz the proper direction and an idea of which building Benny was in, he chuckles to himself, he was sure Benny had probably laid some traps, it was Benny's thing after all. For a brief second he suddenly imagined what it might be like to live with Benny out in the real world, somewhere off the beaten path, quiet, not so disconnected they couldn't get what they needed, but far enough they weren't around a lot of people, and he'd bet all the money in the world that Benny would have the property strewn with traps for monsters wherever possible. Wait.... what a stupid thought, why would he ever live with Benny..... what was this, why was he even thinking shit like this. He shakes his head trying to clear his mind and makes his way for the first floor, trying to decide just how to make his way up into the building. There had to be more than one entrance, and Benny couldn't have them all rigged, but he had no idea which way Benny had entered. As he makes his way towards the closest stairwell that faces the street, he looks in an apartment window and starts to get an oddly creepy uneasy feeling. Odd because nothing ever creeped him out, it was his job to creep others, not the other way around. He started to notice electricity flickering in some of the windows, lights going off and on, a low buzzing barely audible emanating from some of the windows. This couldn't be Benny's doing, he wasn't the type to risk f*cking with electricity on that level. He tries to shrug it off and walks up to the ground floor landing, it seemed all Benny had done here was strewn trash around and leave obstacles, but as he takes a few steps he finds he was wrong and Benny had hidden some wires under them, and of course he found this out too late and nearly falls face first into a pile of old Burger King wrappers and bags but catches himself with his hands. Good thing he was falling up instead of down the stairs. He stands back up right and gets his footing amidst all the stuff and tries more carefully to make his way up to the first floor landing.
  • Mysterious Shit: Meanwhile, up where Benny is, the air suddenly gets colder, lights flicker, weird shit starts to happen........
  • Benny: While Lazarus heads up the ground floor, Benny waits for a few moments. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, when several ceiling tiles mysteriously chuck themselves at him. His nimble reflexes allow him to narrowly escape injury, darting away. It's just an abandoned building. That's all. Nothing will hurt you. He tries to remain calm, and decides to explore the rest of the floor. The floor looks pretty standard, despite the buzzing lights and the flashing. Glancing side to side, he decides to run to the right, kicking away garbage bags and pizza boxes. "Lazarus....." As he runs, his breaths become jagged. Ducking underneath several washing lines, he gets tangled up in a mass of old clothes and wire. Tripping over, Benny falls on his knees and scrapes his knee. His lips quiver, and his blue eyes well up with water. "Ow......" He moans, like a cat placed in boiling water. No, I won't cry. I promise. Lazarus is just playing some stupid tricks to scare me. Picking himself up, his accelerated healing takes care of the wound. It begins to scab over. He bites his bottom lip and continues to run along. His dinosaur bracelet activates, automatically equipping a CB sword in his left hand. He tries to still his racing thoughts, and presses onwards towards the other half of the third floor.
  • Laz: Hearing some unusual noises from the direction where Benny is, he starts to get a bit nervous, no not nervous, wait what the bloody hell was this feeling he had, he suddenly felt like he had to rush up to get to Benny, find out what had happened, if something was wrong. What was this feeling.... It was odd, like nothing he'd remembered ever feeling before. He struggles faster through the next couple of landings trying to get to the floor that Benny was on faster, as he gets closer he yells out to Benny. "Oi Benny boy, what's going on up there, did you fall in to one of your own traps mate?" He wonder if there's concern in his voice, and if there was what it sounded like.
  • Benny: As he hears Lazarus, Benny peeks around the corner to see him. Although his accelerated healing is taking care of it, the scrape still stings, and his eyes well with water. "Um, nothing.... I'm fine." He says, biting his bottom lip to distract himself from the pain. "I tripped over some garbage bags and cut my knee. The building is falling down. I almost got hit by half of the ceiling...." He closes his eyes for a moment, using his control over youth to try and heal up the minor wound, just like Alex had taught him. "Are you okay...? Am I doing good?"
  • Laz: As Laz listened to Benny explain things, he grew close enough to sere Benny peek around the corner, though at this point Laz's swords were back in their sheaths behind him, and it was clear in his eyes that his mind wasn't on training any more. He knew Benny could be a bit of a clutz at times, but something felt off right now and he couldn't quite place his finger on it. "Some of your traps were a bit rushed, but other than that up to your usual standards, though one of these days you are going to have to learn to face your opponent and fight head to head, you won't always have the luxury of a head start." He grins and winks at Benny, in that charming manner he was always able to put on, though with Benny it was slowly feeling less and less of an act, and more, what was the word, genuine? Suddenly the light bulbs on each landing all exploded sending sparks and bits of glass showering down on all the landings, Laz had just enough time to cover his eyes....
  • Conor: Looking down at himself was something Conor was never going to get used to, and every ounce of his hollow wisp of a ghost-self was determined to get it back, somehow, someday, it was his, Hades had no right to allow this imposter to take it. Sure everyone had wanted him dead, but this was the ultimate torment. It had taken him months to work up to full ghost strength and get to the point he could haunt, possess and such. It was time he started seeing some of his plans to fulfillment. He let out an eerie laugh that echoed up and down the stairwell.
  • Benny: As they speak, his sword reforms into its original form. Benny slides the dinosaur bracelet down his arm, and climbs back down towards Lazarus, sliding down some rubble. He still feels a sense of malaise around him, and the kid glances about his surroundings. "We'll take the dirt arena next time." He smiles cheerfully, trying his best to put on a brave face. I'm not a kid. This isn't the time to be scared. "I think I'm pretty fast now, and you're a grumpy old man. I can do without a head-start." Sticking out his tongue, Benny walks up to Lazarus, ready to finish training for the day. "Um, can we get out of here? I'm hungry, and there's candy back in my cabin." He says, eager to get out when the light bulbs explode. His battle reflexes kick in, and fortunately he has time to duck and cover himself with his hoodie. The laugh causes him to feel cold, right down to his very bones. "Are you hurt?...." He asks Lazarus. "I'm getting scared now...."
  • Laz: He brushes off the dusted fragments of the light-bulb-glass that had landed all over his armour and in his hair, "Yea, I uhhhh..... something definitely doesn't feel right. Have you heard any campers mentioning anything about any of the arena's being ummm..... haunted?" He didn't want to get Benny worked up and more nervous than he probably already was, but there was no point in beating around the bush, Laz's old ghosty senses were tingling and he didn't like it. He might not have ghost powers any longer, but some senses never died. As they make their way to the ground floor, Laz stands in front of Benny with his back to the old car lot, with the stairs behind Benny. He looks up at the stairs and the building before him, maybe he should swing by the Melinoe cabin after they left the arena, something was off.
  • Conor: While Laz was asking questions and busy looking up at the building, Conor crept up behind Laz, and forced himself to become visible for Benny, so that it now appeared like Laz had a ghostly mirror image behind him. Though you could see through Conor, you could still make out his signature red eyes that was one of the few ways that Laz and Conor differed, Laz asked the eye condition be fixed before he took the body. Conor looked over Laz's shoulder at Benny with a cold blood thirsty stare, Conor never bothered to try to fit in or act normal or put on a show like Laz did. Conor was a psychopath through and through, and it showed. He looked over at Benny was if Benny was a well done steak and Conor were a starving homeless man.
  • Benny: "H..Haunted.....?" Benny says, completely shocked. Brushing off broken glass, he carefully follows Lazarus down the stairs. "Um, I dunno. I don't think any are haunted, or we would have been warned before going in." He suggests thoughtfully, scratching the side of his head in confusion. As Lazarus looks around, Benny sees a ghostly shape behind him. He gasps. "Laz, why are there two of you?" It takes him a minute to remember Laz was a ghost himself, before Hades gave him a body again. Conor's red eyes freak the kid out, and he's visibly shaking. "There's a ghost behind you. He has red eyes....."
  • Laz: He chuckles, "Yea haha, funny there mate, two of me, why....." Suddenly it dawns on Laz what that could mean, if there really was a ghost behind him, and by the look of fear in Benny's eyes and feeling of cold in the air, it was not something Laz could deny, there was only one way that there could be two of himself, the previous owner of the body had somehow managed to escape the underworld as a haunting spirit. "Ok, Benny, look at me, and we are going to very calmly and very quickly get the bloody hell out of here, ok?" Under other circumstances he might find the idea of meeting the Conor person one on one, but he could see Benny was not doing well, and from the feelings coming off the ghost behind him, and from the history he'd learned of Conor's time on earth, he doubted very much that Conor was a friendly spirit. "Do you have a drachma on you?"
  • Benny: "Um, okay." Benny forces himself to look away from the ghost, and solely focus on Lazarus. He hopes that the ghost isn't one which can possess human or demigod bodies and forcibly do its bidding. The thought makes him hesitate. He reaches into his backpack and rummages around for his wallet. "C'mon, it should be here. Dad always makes me carry money for emergencies." Eventually he finds the drachma and glances back to Lazarus, passing him the large golden coin. "Are we gonna Iris Message the Melinoe Cabin to come and sort it?" He asks, talking to try and push away any fears and doubts which linger in the back of his mind. This was gonna be okay. Lazarus knew what he was doing, and the camp directors would know how to ward rogue spirits. But Benny had a feeling that Conor wasn't done playing games.
  • Conor: Laughs in an eery ghost laugh, "Who are you going to call, the ghost busters?"
  • Laz: He glares over his shoulder and tosses the drachma into a puddle and calls out 'Klara', after a few minutes a slightly dishevelled teenager appears
  • Klara "Zdrastvooyte?" She asks without even looking up from the book she's reading to see who's actually on the other side of the iris message....
  • Laz: "Oi mate, how many times do I bloody have to remind you to use English?!?" He glares over at Conor who's starting to float closer and closer to Benny, making things move and tossing things around, nothing that's directed at hitting Benny yet, but enough so that his point that he could cause harm if he wanted to was quite clear, "Klara I don't have time for this, can you just get to the Urban arena with your brother, we need your Melinoe skills pronto."
  • Klara: She rolls her eyes but notices the odd things going on behind Laz, and gets a glimpse of Laz's ghost look-a-like, "Yea, sorry, I'll grab Konstantin and be right there, give me a few seconds, we'll <insert however Melinoe kids fast travel places> there....." Before the Iris message closes she can be heard yelling in Russian, presumably to her brother in the Melinoe cabin.
  • Konstantin: A couple of minutes later, Konstantin appears. He's still in his ethereal form, it takes a couple of minutes for him to phase back into human or well demigod form. "Izvinite. I would have been quicker, if Klara had not thrown a book at me!" He glances back to his sister and mutters a few words in Russian, probably too impolite for Benny's ears. "So what seems to be the problem? I heard it was something like a poltergeist....."
  • Conor: He rolls his ghostly eyes and attempts to take possession of Benny.......
  • Laz: "My ummm evil twin over there..... complicated story, long story short, he's dead and I own his body now thanks to Hades, he's not happy about it....." Laz moves towards Benny and Conor when he sees what Conor is up to, not that he can do much if Conor succeeded in possessing Benny, but something in him snapped when he saw Benny in even more danger, something he didn't know was even possible, concern, worry, actually caring about another human being, all things still very alien to Laz......
  • Klara: She mutters some Russian words under her breath, probably along the lines of oh great what shit have they gotten in to now thanks to Laz, "I'm surprised he's taken this long to come after you, you've had this body for almost two years now." She gives Konstantin the look when she sees the ghost moving towards the younger boy, the look they get when it's time to go in to action and they can move and act without talking because they are in sync as twins and move closer to try and command the ghost before it possesses Benny.
  • Benny: Scratching the side of his head, Benny's taken completely by surprise, as he feels something in his head. It most definitely wasn't him. "What are you....." He says, trying to fight the flurry of thoughts, images and senses in his head, the screaming of victims, the scent of blood, things that Benny had never seen or experienced in his short fourteen years. "Laz!.....I can feel him. Inside my head!" The son of Hebe panics. Praying to his mother, he tries to imagine her and the picnics she went on with Dad, the first time his powers turned a butterfly back into a pupa, and the tree in his backyard flourished. He could feel himself slipping away to the psychopath's control, as his sword activated in his hands.
  • Konstantin: "We always have to clean up your messes. Why bring the kid into it?" Konstantin grumbles. He recognises that Conor is a violent and immediate threat to Benny's life, which is why he tries to possess the sword in Benny's hand and fling it away to prevent a possible hostage situation. "Begone you pesky ghost. You have already caused enough trouble...." Swearing in Russian, he starts to chant a counter-curse under his breath, a mixture of Russian and Greek sentiments towards Melinoe and the Virgin Mary. A man couldn't be picky in these situations.
  • Laz: He doesn't have time to argue with Konstantin that he was there training Benny and it wasn't like he invited Conor, I mean Hades was supposed to have Conor locked away somewhere in Hades after all the demigods Conor killed a couple of years ago at Camp and the BC, how he'd gotten out was beyond Laz. Once the sword was safely out of Benny's hand Laz moved in and made an attempt to take Benny protectively in his arms to keep Conor from being able to do anything that might hurt Benny. "Just stay with me Benny, ignore Conor, you're strong, you can fight this come on mate, think about all the candy I'm going to buy you when we get back to camp, anything you want......"
  • Klara: Seeing Laz's clear concern for Benny threw her off for a moment, she obviously didn't know all of Laz's secrets, her and her brother knew him from before he got this body, but she knew enough about him to know such concern for another human being was rare for Laz. She stand by her brother's side and finally begins chanting in unison with him, especially once it was clear that this ghost was quite strong and wasn't giving in easily.
  • Conor: Trying to speak through Benny's voice, Conor yells out "Haha, just try your tricks with me, Hades granted me the abilities of the possessing Eidolones, something Laz should remember intimately, you aren't the only one that can manipulate a god's desires for vengeance." He struggles to maintain any kind of possession over Benny, especially with the twins doing their Melinoe shit on him, they might not have as much power over him as other spirits and ghost, but they'd be powerful enough together to send him temporarily back to the underworld if he wasn't careful.
  • Konstantin: Clattering to the ground, the sword falls harmlessly to the ground. Konstantin raises a well-sculpted eyebrow at Lazarus, as he runs to protect Benny. He judges that the two are bonded on some emotional level, not the cool detachment he would normally expect from Lazarus. Following his sister's lead, he takes hold of the crucifix around his neck and continues to chant. Klara and him act as one soul in two people, working in unison to drive the spirit away.
  • Benny: Benny shakes, his body acting as the battleground. He's completely thrown in a panic, until a pair of warm arms find him. Instinctively, he nuzzles against the hardened muscles of Lazarus' chest for comfort. "I think you owe me some cotton candy...." Giggling, he starts to fight the ghost inside of him, thinking about his life at camp, his friends and everything he loved. It creates a warm feeling inside of him, bubbly, happy, safe. Conor tears against his head, but the powers of two Melinoe kids seem to be drawing him out. "Go away, you mean ghost! I want you gone....."
  • Laz: Laz doesn't even think about anything but keeping Benny safe, even though a tiny voice in his head was sort of demanding to know why Laz was so concerned, he didn't have feelings for people, he had no feelings, none of that mattered right now until Benny was safe, then he'd try and figure out why he let Benny get to him like this, "Oi, bloody f***ing hell why isn't this working, you lot are usually better at this, get him the f*** out of Benny now damn it."
  • Klara: Did the boy really just say Eidolones, that's not good, they'd be lucky to get it out of his body let alone back to the underworld where it belonged, she chants harder and basically does whatever it is Melinoe kids to do control and manipulate nasty mean ghosts...
  • Conor: He'd hoped to do more damage to Benny, he'd been stalking Laz for a week or so, and he knew well that Benny was probably the only thing in the world that Laz cared at all about. It made Conor laugh, it wasn't a mistake he would have made, letting someone in like that, developing real feelings for someone, Laz was weak, and Conor was determined to use it against him. He couldn't fight the Melinoe twins any longer was was expelled rather violently from Benny's body, He has enough strength left to glare at Laz, "You haven't seen the last of me, you have what belongs to me, Hades had no right, you'll pay for this, and anything you care about will pay too." Conor disappears.
  • Laz: "Are you ok?" He realises he's still holding Benny a bit tightly and pulls back a bit, feeling a bit awkward having shown such concern and affection in front of the twins, they owed him still and he wasn't about to let them get any leverage over him until they'd paid him back in full, "Finally, and if you guys think this makes us even you're mistaken, for what you two owe me this is nothing."
  • Konstantin: A wave of anger washes over Konstantin. He gives Klara a look to say 'We're being dragged into this shit again.' Clenching one of his fists, he debates whether to smash Lazarus' face to a pulp or not. "It's an Eidolone, with a history of murder. That body should be left to rot in Tartarus where it belongs."
  • Benny: As Conor is pushed from his body, Benny's body goes completely limp. He takes a few deep breaths to calm down. "Um thanks, is it gone...." He asks, glancing all around to see whether the ghost had gone or not. "I'm sorry, I tried my best to fight him away, but he was strong...." Picking up his sword, it reverts back to a bracelet. "You're tired. Let me restore some of your energy..." Smiling shyly at the twins, Benny directs his powers towards them. "I'm Benny by the way. Hebe's son..."
  • Laz: Laz looks around but Conor seems to have disappeared for now, possibly in the underworld, possibly just not strong enough to maintain being visible to everyone, either way Benny was safe for the moment, "Yea I think he's gone." He looks over at Konstantin, anger flashing in his eyes, "Again?! How many times do I have to explain that I was at the whim of Hades all those years, and even in the end he tricked me by forcing this body on me, the body of a serial killer. I'll grant you at times haunting was fun, but not some of the shit Hades made me do, especially at the end. And I have no idea why he isn't rotting in Tartarus like Hades swore he would be, but that's not exactly my fault or my problem, and last I checked, while you're here at camp, everyone is supposed to do their part to help protect camp, and last I checked that would fall into any and all Melinoe's kids to help the camp against ex-serial killer possessing Eidolones. So if you don't like the idea of pulling your weight for the good of camp, maybe you should shod off, otherwise suck it up and stop being a f*cking wanker about it." He's breathing heavy, normally he wouldn't care bout any of this, normally he'd probably go off and have drinks with someone like Conor, but Conor had put Benny's life at risk, or well even though he didn't blatantly threaten Benny, Laz knew that by possessing Benny it was Conor's way of reminding Laz that as a possessing spirit Conor could hurt people. The thought of Benny being hurt struck a nerve in Laz that he didn't know existed, how on earth had he come to care....wow care....he actually cared.....gods this was really starting to exhaust him.
  • Klara: She sighs, as hot-headed as she could be, it seemed like it would be her calming her brother down today, for a change, "(In Russian) Brother Dear, (In broken English), Laz does have a point, we are in camp's borders where all campers need protection, it would have been much different had Laz called us to help while he was off on his own somewhere." She sighs and then turns her attention to Benny, "Hello Benny, my name is Klara, my brother and I just recently got to camp, as you probably guessed we're children of Melinoe." She smiles.
  • Konstantin: He glances to Klara. Lazarus definitely unsettles him in some manner; and Konstantin wants to avoid looking at those dreamy eyes whenever possible. Fuck, did he say that? Sure, the guy’s attractive but he has a foul temper, and basically owned the two of them for as long as he deemed necessary. Her words remind him of this debt, a ball and chain across his leg. (In Russian) “I don’t like this. You know how long ghosts hold grudges, and he’s brought a kid into it. He’s created enough messes, even for his lifetime.” Konstantin sulks, his tail between his legs. Kneeling down to Benny, he nods. (In Broken English.) “I’m Konstantin. You shouldn’t be sorry. Few can fight ghosts for that long, and the recharge is appreciated.” His smile fades away as he turns once again to Laz. “I won’t have it said that we didn’t do our duty, sir. But please, contact us if you need anything else. We shall…..wag our tails and come running when needed.” He bows his head politely and walks away.
  • Benny: Scratching his head, Benny’s confused by all the discourse. He assumes it’s something to do with the ghost coming back and haunting them. But it wasn’t really Lazarus’ fault. Hades decided to give him that body. Maybe Lazarus’ job was to help the people hurt by Conor or something. He just shrugs his shoulders. “Um, I guess I’ll see you around.” He puts his hands in his pockets and looks up at Laz. He seems really worried about something. “T….thanks for protecting me. I didn’t think I’d be strong enough to fight him.” Benny blushes. “Is that what it was like to be a ghost, possessing people and stuff…?”
  • Laz: He shrugs and puts on his demeanour he uses when he plays the Hades lapdog 'didn't enjoy it all' face, "I won't lie, sometimes haunting could be fun, if the people were bad or deserved it. Some of the other possessing spirits though, they were.....a lot more like Conor, they wouldn't just go after people who deserved it." He sighs and looks up at the sky, it was getting well into the evening, the sun was nearly ready to start setting, "Sometimes I did it just to feel again, the sensation of touching someone, of being touched...." He pauses, he hadn't meant to say that, it was a bit more personal and a bit more true than he'd normally talk about, well that was unsettling, what was it about Benny that made him say things like that, "Any way mate, let's get you back to your cabin, I don't know about you but I don't feel like sticking around any longer." He gives Benny a reassuring smile and nod, the 'everything's going to be all right' nod.
  • Benny: "Yeah, you're right..." Benny says, putting his hands in his pockets. He's convinced by Lazarus' act, and frowns a little. "It doesn't sound very nice, but at least you're here now." Offering a sympathetic smile, he's unusually quiet and lost within his own thoughts. The idea of being a ghost freaks him out a little, it's nothing like Casper the Friendly Ghost either. "Um, can I sleep over at yours?" He asks, his bottom lip quivering. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep on my own tonight. I won't bother you at all, I promise. I'll bring some toys to play with."
  • Laz: He chuckles and thinks back to the first few nights he spent with Benny, he'd never met someone that could be so innocent on one hand, yet also so mature at times. "Yea sure, actually I think you may still have a few in my wardrobe from when you first got to camp."

*Timeskip to Lazarus' cabin*

  • Benny: "Um, thanks for letting me stay over..." Benny's wearing a t-shirt and his cartoon boxers, snuggled in Lazarus' giant queen bed with some kind of lollipop that he stashed away. Thankfully, the enchantment on the room seems to be holding up. "Are you okay? It must have been scary..." He glances towards Laz, snuggling closer to him.
