Pre-Ball

  • Kiel: To atone for his many transgressions against the daughter of Ares, the son of Poseidon decided to make their prom a little bit more special. He was an ass for choosing pretend like the ball didn't matter to him. However, having only 3 days left, Kiel only did so to prepare for the special night. He ignored her the whole time and choose the prom-posal to be kept in suspense. Currently, Kiel was at the beach. It was the sunset before prom. Only three hours left before prom started. He sent a message to Daphne, commanding her to go outside her cabin. Once she did, she'll find a pegasus, one Kiel befriended in his days as the head counsellor. The pegasus will stubbornly follow Daphne until she rides on it.
  • Daphne: Coming out from a call with Si-Jin, Daphne headed out of the cabin to find the pegasus that would only mean one of Kiel's antics. Despite having her mind preoccupied with some responsibilities back in Taipei, the lady rode the Pegasus knowing that it won't probably leave her alone and tried to ground herself on the way. She didn't want to appear distracted at all times. She pats the pegasus, greeting at how long it has been since she's last saw it.
  • The pegasus warmly entertained the daughter of Ares. She missed her as well. However, as much as she wanted to reply to Daphne, alas, only a child of Poseidon could understand her. She landed the on the cliff, overlooking the beach and the sea. It seemed far away from the usual beach, where campers interact. Moreover, everyone was busy preparing for the dance tonight. Meters away from the edge of the cliff was a closed vintage music box. However, instead of a ballerina, it was a couple in the midst of sea waves. If Daphne were to open the enchanted box and wind the handle, Tenerife Sea would play endlessly. While Kiel hated cheesy songs as such, he knew Daphne's pleasure was more important - at least for tonight. Under the box, a note in Kiel's scripted writing quoted: "play me."
  • Daph: With curiosity, the demigod went on her knees to open and play the music box, appreciation filling her features as she immediately notice the familiar hand writing in the note. She takes the note before she scans the area for who could possibly be Kiel, slightly anxious as to where this would lead to
  • Once the box was played, a certain daughter of Hecate's magic had set. Suddenly, Daphne would be transported meters away from shore in a white beach dress. She would be able to stand on water without getting wet. In front of her, a mini water show would ensue. Arches of water would alternate from left to right, right to left. Animals that Poseidon children could command - a few otters, dolphins, turtles, and sea horses came to greet her. She may touch them if she pleased. Suddenly, while she was distracted, a water construct of Daphne and Kiel dancing were in front of her. The three dolphins would return near the construct. Each of them carrying a fish-friendly sign. They screeched in excitement. One in the middle. Two per side with the words "Yes," giving her the illusion of choice. Meanwhile, the dolphin at the center carried a sign that said:

Daphne Wang
I may be a jerk but

Will You Go to Ball With Me?
  • Kiel: Once all of that happened, Kiel would be walking towards her side from behind. Suiting the beach theme, he wore a loose white shirt and cream shorts. "Well?" He asked, as if she could choose to have another answer anyway. Back when they were kids, he was too preoccupied with Su-Mi to notice the daughter of Ares. Once they were in college, they couldn't attend each other's balls, due to conflicting schedules and distance. Thus, through this prom-posal, the son of Poseidon wanted to give Daphne the well-deserved dance she never received. He didn't need Madam Su's date orders. The son of Poseidon's heart beat hard and loud. While he was confident about his proposal, he couldn't admit his fear of being rejected. After all, the past few days, Daphne had been talking to another boy - much to Kiel's annoyance.
  • Daphne: Since everything was happening at once, the demigod wasn't sure how to react other than smile and grin at how pleasant everything is but once Kiel appeared, The daughter of Ares gawked, speechless in the effort her ex is putting for a mere prom/ball-prosal. She tries to smother her grin before hitting the guy playfully (but still with force) on his arms, forgetting the problem that's risen at their council. "Do you think I'll say no?" she huffs at him
  • Kiel: The son of Poseidon closely watched her reactions. However, his outer appearance gave no sign of his anxious heart. "No, but I'd prefer it if you said 'yes' - as if you had another choice." He smirked. Her hits often hurt, even the slightest, since she was the daughter of the war god. "Hey. I don't deserve that." He playfully glared back at Daphne.
  • Daphne: She sighs playfully, as if she can never get used to Kiel's antics. "Fine, yes. I'll go with you." she huffs "And you even had to pretend you didn't want to go" she rolls her eyes and crossed her arms at him.
  • Kiel: The dolphins were happy to hear about their master's success. After a lovely stroke from Kiel, they returned back to the ocean, except one that held one of the yes. She gave the poster to Daphne and snuggled against her feet. "Tsk. Shouldn't you just be grateful at the surprise and not bully me?" He smirked. "It wouldn't be a surprise, if I agreed. Were you disappointed I didn't ask sooner?" He teased, turning the tables on his love.
  • Daphne: "Yeah right, Wu" she sneers at him as they continue to chide at each other before parting ways to prepare for the ball. Thank god for her Aphrodite friend that I cannot name because.. I'm lazy and I no have aphro kid so-- that helped Daphne provide her necessities for the ball. Since she isn't that much prepared, the daughter of Ares opted for a natural soft look make up she did for herself and pls refer to the photo. Besides, she didn't feel the need to look extra and she didn't like heavy full make up anyways. Daphne would be done curling her hair by the time Kiel would've come
  • Kiel: "Hey," he smirked. "You better not be late." He reminded her, as he water travelled back to his cabin. At about 7:30PM, the ex-counsellor came into the Ares cabin. His presence there was normalized, so he didn't have to ask permission from one of the war freaks. The son of Poseidon then knocked on her room door.
  • Daphne: "Come in!" she exclaimed as she pulls a drawer to pull out a hairspray to make sure her curls would stay all night. "Hold on, I'm almost ready to go" she says as Kiel enters the room and proceeds to spray her perfume and grabs her purse. She turns to Kiel before smiling hoping for a feedback on her look but otherwise, was indicating that she's ready to go
  • Kiel: "Ok." Upon opening the door, the son of Poseidon was greeted by a beautiful maiden and her familiar room. The scent of the place tossed him back to memory lane, where he took care of a sick, overworked Daphne. Meanwhile, Daphne's dress and make-up suited her very well. For some reason, regret really smudged its way there. He should have always kept her close and never doubted her. "If you expect me to tell you that you're pretty, well, you're not wrong." He blushed, avoiding her eyes as he extended his hand familiarly.
  • Daph: she tries not to smile too wide but none the less, evidently proud to receive a compliment from Kiel plus, seeing him blush is an achievement. "Well, you don't look so bad yourself." she said with a hint of patronizing since it was Kiel who complimented her first (even though she indirectly asked for it). She places her hands on his before feeling her heart sink as she familiarize herself with it's warmth and roughness, something that profoundly used to bring her comfort. Now it's just doubt and anxious but still, it makes her heart skip to be able to hold him again. "Let's try to enjoy this night." she says a loud but more to herself.
  • Kiel: "If you don't end up stepping on my toes, I don't see a problem." He teased. The son of Poseidon then placed a pair of sneakers near her fish tank, which Kiel placed to make water travelling easier. Once he had her hand, the two walked towards the cabin door, where the pegasus that came to her remained. Kiel climbed up first and left a space for her to mount the mythical horse. He offered to her up as well. "I hope that hair spray of yours is extra strong."
  • Daph: "I'm gonna ruin you if you ruin my hair, you hear that?" she bluffs as she mounts up the horse, some part of her finds the horse riding very romantic but being single (and sometimes bitter) for the past three years made some part of her cringe at how extra this is. But Daphne's genuinely happy even though this could just be one night, might as well enjoy it while it last.
  • Kiel: "I'm too dashing to ruin." He bluffed back. The son of Poseidon rode behind her and mentally gave the pegasus his request. "Hey, so I was thinking... do you still want to go back to Taiwan?" He wondered.
  • Daph: "I don't think I have a choice though, I need to go back." she refers to her coming graduation and other business things that comes after "Don't you need to go back too?" she tilts her head and slightly shifts her head to glance behind her
  • Kiel: "Not until next January, at least. Beijing's closed off to foreigners until then." He referred to his university shifting to online classes. "When do you need to go back?" Kiel asked intently.
  • Daphne: "Well, I'm not really sure but before the end of June, I guess?" she wonders if it's enough time for the uni to provide a venue for the graduation while still observing the distancing measures. "Why?" she asks nervously, feeling on edge
  • Kiel: "Nothing. I just thought camp might be a better getaway from our family." He mentioned casually. Truth be told, Kiel didn't like Daphne around the sneaky vice president of hers. He also didn't like the pressure from his family for them to get together. At camp, she had to answer to his demands only. Moreover, maybe... there's a shot to renewing their relationship? No, no. He couldn't. As guilty as he was, the son of Poseidon still wanted their happiness to last longer. He also had to wait until next year for his graduation rites, since he took two degrees.
  • Daph: "Well, that is true but I can't." she simply put as they close to the venue. The daughter of Ares had been sacrificing a lot of her responsibility at the Uni just to be here and the thought of leaving it further makes her feel guilty
  • Kiel: "It's fine. When are you leaving then?" He asked, hiding his disappointment. She had done enough. In two posts, they would arrive at the ball.
  • Daph: Her eyebrows knit in concern as she can feel the sudden change in the atmosphere "Is everything all right?" she twists slightly to look up at him "Maybe right after this ball, do you want me to stay longer?" she asks explicitly, all these subtleties are making her go mad.
  • Kiel: The son of Poseidon smirked. Even when she couldn't see him, she could feel him. "Somewhat," he pointed out. Kiel then gave away other bullshit excuses. He couldn't tell her that he wanted her alone. "I just thought maybe you'd like to stay. Like I said, it'll be a bigger hassle to get our parents involved. But, I guess you have to go back for your duties."
  • Daph: "Yeah but--" she cut herself from reconsidering for Kiel. "Sorry." she mutters as she forces herself not to think about the matter more than she should, the last thing she want is to keep catching feelings. "생각해볼게" she says she'll think about it in korean, thinking Kiel wouldn't understand it.
  • Kiel: "It's fine." The son of Poseidon really didn't understand. "What does that mean?" He wondered, steering the pegasus to land. He got off the horse and let out his hand to help Daphne climb down.
  • Daphne: she smothers a grin as she takes his hand to climb off the pegasus. "Nothing" she smiles at him as she gestures for them to head inside "Let's go."

The Ball

  • Kiel: His brows furrowed in confusion, but the son of Poseidon did not want to push further. They were supposed to to enjoy their night, and he was supposed to get his ass forgiven. Kiel helped Daphne to the stairs of the ball. Her arm locked around his. They enter to a room full of people. "Did you ever attend that high school ball of ours?" He asked. That year, his childhood crush and Daphne's best friend disappear, so Kiel couldn't bear himself to attend.
