Urban Arena


Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • This arena also possesses a more rural arena, possessing large mansions, estates and houses.

Analeese walks past various upturned cars, making her way through the dilapidated streets on the arena. She wears a full set of CHB leather armour, black emblazoned with a golden set of scales. Her serrated whip and long-sword are sheathed in her dark silk scabbard and a set of throwing knives and a crossbow are affixed to her back. Her pale eyes scan the arena. She slowly sneaks around the concrete jungle, finding an office building with a ruined roof. She walks through the broken door frame and climbs up a series of crumbling steps, the building is located around the centre of the arena and should give a decent view of her surroundings. She reaches the top and waits patiently, waiting for Alexandra to find her rather than wasting her energies and getting discovered. The roof itself has partially collapsed, though a few walls and doors remain. The roof is accessed by the same set of steps that she climbed, or through adjoining buildings. The daughter of Nemesis patiently waits for her opponent to appear, relying on her stealth and precision to get the job done.

Character's Powers

 ====Offensive====

  1. Children of Nemesis have the ability to send a small wave of energy which will cause anyone affected to lose their balance and fall; after the effects have worn off, a person is immune to further effects of this for a moderate time.
  2. Children of Nemesis, after receiving a wound, are able to empower their next successful attack, causing it to do more damage than it normally would.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Nemesis can create a field of energy around them that causes all people nearby to lose their balance fall to the ground and continue to fall if they try to get up; the user is drained the longer the field is sustained.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Nemesis are innately balanced and are great at climbing.
  2. Children of Nemesis have innate reflexes which allows them to fight and dodge quickly.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Nemesis are able to empower a wounded ally with the fervor to achieve vengeance upon the one who wounded them; this effect greatly increases the strength and speed of the ally when they fight the one who wounded them until vengeance is achieved.
  2. Children of Nemesis have the ability to cause someone near them to regard others with no personal favor or disdain and consider everything based purely upon facts.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. For every attack against them, Children of Nemesis have the ability to create a counter-attack that is equal in force to the attack made against them. The user is temporarily vulnerable and weakened after each use, so they must be used sparingly

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Nemesis have the ability to link themselves and another person into a state of pure balance, forcing the other person to mirror the child of Nemesis’ movements without the ability to move of their own accord and while this link is sustained, any wound that either of the two suffers, the other suffers it as well; once the link is broken, on top of retaining any wounds sustained while linked, the child of Nemesis is greatly drained and unable to fight for a moderate time.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Nemesis can create a field around them, and anyone within that field has their demigod powers neutralised for a short time, anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, this puts anyone fighting around the child of Nemesis on even turf as they all can only use their melee/hand to hand combat skills to fight with. While the child is perpetuating this field, they are not able to attack themselves and are vulnerable.

Traits[]

  2. They can tell when someone's life is out of balance with either too much good or too much bad

She looks around the vast urban arena, where various skyscrapers and past buildings are clustered together around the large park and what seems like some form of suburban area, though it was too far to really tell from her vantage point. The daughter of Nemesis doesn't know about the subway tunnel, and thus cannot track Alexandra's location. However, knowing that her opponent is a daughter of Nyx she decides that the best defence is to stay in the light and force the girl to track her down rather than allow herself to be caught unawares, like what happened previously in her arena fight against Daevyd.

Analeese saw a dark silhouette appear, several hundred meters away out of what looked like a tunnel. The daughter of Nemesis takes one last look at the arena, planning her next move before descending a pile of rubble, left by the damaged rooftop onto the next building. This one is slightly lower, around 30ft tall. The roof fortunately is flat, and there are some steps leading down to the old infrastructure, which seems to be some form of department store. The concrete buildings next to her seem like standard office buildings, the glass windows shattered long ago. They’re separated by a small drop but for a skilled climber it would be possible to latch onto the nearby AC unit and hope that it doesn’t drop off. She makes her way down a flight of stairs which opens onto a department store floor, complete with discarded mannequins and a countertop. “Having fun there?” She yells out to Alexandra, who is around 15 feet below her. “Analeese. Your challenger.” The daughter of Nemesis says, eager to actually start the fight

The Fight[]

Alex: Alexandra immediately finds the owner of the voice and shadowtravels a few feet behind her. She pulls her necklace, which transforms into a shield and sword in each respective hand. Alexandra attempts to smash her shield against Analeese's head quick enough, giving her from none to little time to react and shield herself from the attack.

Analeese: Analeese stays on her toes. She spots Alexandra who quickly disappears. The young woman looks behind to see the daughter of Nyx a few feet away, hearing her footsteps racing towards her. She takes advantage of the distance and throws a pair of throwing knives for her shoulder as a distraction. The daughter of Nemesis then slides across a countertop while Alexandra's sword and shield form in her hands, using her innate balance tp quickly vault across the counter before her opponent can smash the shield over her head. She takes a few steps backwards across the naked wooden floor, aiming to keep the daughter of Nyx at mid to long range for the majority of the fight before coming in for the kill. If Ana could find a way to remove her shield, Alexandra would be largely unprotected due to her lack of armour, it was a matter of waiting for the right moment to strike. 

Alex: Alex avoids the knives by using her shield as protection. Alex tightens her grip on the sword and shield, before lunging at Analeese and attempting to stab her in the stomach.

Analeese: She shrugs her shoulders as the knives are blocked by Alexandra's shield, and sends a small wave of energy to unbalance the daughter of Nyx as she lunges across the slippery wooden floor, (as the two are seperated by some distance which is futhered by Ana's jump over the counter). The daughter of Nemesis uses this time to draw her longsword and steps to the side, parrying the blade with the edge of her long-sword and sliding her sword in a downwards direction, directing Alexandra's blade down towards the floor. "Tut tut, didn't your mother teach you not to run in corridors?" The daughter of Nemesis taunted, strategically evaluating her options. The stairs were nearby for emergency access, as were the smashed windows, though they would be a risky move if she chose to retreat. She was confident that it was possible to keep Alexandra on her toes, letting the shield and sword weigh her down.

Alex: 'Bitch,' Alex thought to herself. Alex then shadow traveled a few feet back, their swords no longer touching. Alex smiled evilly, before shadow traveling right in front of Ana and giving her very little time to react. Using this to her advantage, she tackles Ana, trying to deliver punches into her face.

Analeese: Analeese relaxes a little, as Alexandra shadow travels a few feet away from her. She's about to chase after her when a dark shadow appears right in front of her and knocks the daughter of Nemesis to the ground, her sword still in her hand. She takes a punch to the face, which causes some cosmetic damage. Analeese empowers the blade with the force of her recent wound to do even more devestating amounts of damage as she stabs upwards for her opponent's ribcage, left vulnerable as the daughter of Nyx was wearing little armor. (as stated in her opening paragraph.)

Alexandra: Alexandra groans in pain and quickly conjures a cloak of pure shadows, which would blunt most attacks, but slow some of hers, too. She then summons a dagger made out of pure shadows (which she calls her Shadow Dagger) and in immense speed, she tries to stab Ana in her right shoulder.

Analeese: She smirks with satisfaction, as the blade pierces through Alexandra's body. The daughter of Nemesis slides it out and uses her two feet to kick against the daughter of Nyx's stomach to push her away. Her plan to wear the girl out was going much better than planned, and thus Analeese was confident that she could still win this. "Too slow." She taunts once more, rolling over to the left to avoid the shadow dagger. Due to her innate balance, Analeese is able to pick herself up before Alexandra can prepare another strike with the dagger who seems slower due to her cloak of shadows. "I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to a challenge, but you're completely predictable." She adds, rubbing salt in the wound as she stood in a defensive position, prepared to parry another attack. "Go on, stand yourself up."

OOC: Idk what happened to the sword and shield in Alexandra's hand unless they were knocked away so she had to use the shadow dagger >.< I'll roll with it c:

Alexandra: Alexandra rolls her eyes as the shadows near her try slowly healing her. Alex then smirks, "Guess what, girlie?"

Analeese: Rather than bothering with pleasantries, Analeese ignores the attempts of the Nyx kid to intimidate or attack her. She merely slams her foot down towards Alexandra's weapon arm, in which she is holding the shadow dagger in hopes of disarming the girl or breaking her arm in an attempt to incapacitate her. She should already be bleeding from her previous wound, and exhausted through overuse of powers to really put up much more of a fight, though it was uncertain. "I don't play nice. Nor do I consort with idiots." Her tone was sharp, and there was definitely some of her mother in her ruthlesness. If Alexandra tried to break free, Analeese could knock her down again and cause her to lose her balance by generating a field with her powers. If she tried to shadow travel away, she could attack her from a distance with her crossbow and throwing knives until she succumbed to exhaustion or merely bled out onto the wooden floor. "Make a move and I'll put you in your place."

Alexandra: Alex rolled her eyes, "My mother is the primordial goddess of night, correct? Well, look around, because it sure as hell isn't day anymore." Alexandra snorted and shrugged, "I'm basically bleeding to death here and I have a date to attend in like an hour, so I yield, punk." Alex smiled slightly, "You could change your attitude though."

Analeese: Analeese stares down at the girl. It's starting to get a little more overcast outside though the afternoon isn't over yet. Her pale hazel eyes look over Alexandra in a skepical manner. "I don't believe you. But come nightfall, you'll have bled out. The logical thing to do now is submit without a fight." She states, trying to get Alexandra to consider the situation based solely on facts. "Put the shadow dagger away and I'll let you live." She warns, preparing herself in case the daughter of Nyx manages to shadow travel out of her grasp.
