Earth Arena

Earth arena
  • This arena is surrounded by tall peaks and cliffs, moving towards the centre of the arena is a mostly dry sandy landscape, with lots of ruins, some even resemble an archaeological dig, with lots of places to hide in the shadows.
  • At the very centre of the arena is a lush oasis with a pond, palm trees and all sorts of vegetation.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • On each end of the arena, on top of some large pillars, are pyres, full of fire and wood. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.

 Age: 17  Height: 5'6"  Weight: 120 lbs.
 Sexuality: Undecided  Relationship Status: Single
Birth Place: Manhattan, New York  Main Weapon: Mace & Whip
 Accent: American
 – "Of all ghosts the ghosts of our old loves are the worst."

Character's Powers

Powers of a Daughter of Melinoe (3/6/9):

Offensive

  1. Children of Melinoe can create weapons made of solid ectoplasm in order to aid them in combat. Only one weapon may exist at a time ,the longer the weapons are maintained, the more energy is drained. They can also coat their existing weapons in ectoplasm in order to temporarily strengthen them.
  2. Children of Melinoe can send shockwave-like blasts made of solid ectoplasmic energy which feel like a very powerful punch on contact, also momentarily stunning whoever it contacts.

Defensive

  1. Children of Melinoe have the ability to become intangible for short periods; making them immune to attacks but also unable to attack naturally.
  2. Children of Melinoe are able to manipulate the tangibility of ghosts around them to form a shield, that is no larger than the user, to protect themselves.

Passive

  1. Children of Melinoe are innately able to talk to and command ghosts, they can also help ghosts with any unfinished business that is keeping them tethered. They can also use this ghost to spy for them, or gather information.
  2. Children of Melinoe make the people around them uneasy and sometimes fearful as a result of their ghostly aura; they can turn this off for a long time if they desire.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Melinoe have the ability to summon a single poltergeist which will fight for them for a short time.
  2. Children of Melinoe have the ability to summon a banshee, which will instantly begin wailing and stun anyone who is not intangible for a short time before vanishing.
  3. Children of Melinoe, while intangible, can travel in this manner as a ghost would, disappearing and appearing in another location, however the longer the travel the more it drains the user.
  4. Children of Melinoe have the ability to transform a weapon into an intangible state for a short time, making it so no one can touch it. They also have the ability to possess an object for a short time and then attack or defend with it. If the object is struck, they are expelled from it.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Melinoe have the ability to cause ghosts (up to 4) to attempt to possess a single other person’s body. The ghosts can then be commanded to temporarily control the body if it is an ally, or for an opponent the ghosts will only be able to hinder the possessed person from what they are doing. This only lasts for a short time, and the more ghosts that are summoned, the greater drain the user feels.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Melinoe have the ability to shed their human nature and appear as either a demon or angel, as their mother has dual chthonian and heavenly aspects. As a demon, the user has the ability to strike fear and despair into the heart of the enemy and emit a scream similar to that of a banshee's. As an angel, the user is granted flight (as angels are often depicted as having wings), and have the ability to instil respect and peace into whomever they come in contact with. The use of this power is extremely draining, and the user can only chose to be either angel or demon, never a combination of the two. After use, the user cannot use the power again for 24 hours.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Melinoe have the ability to enter a intangible ghostly apparition, in this state, they are immune to attacks, and can control up to 15 ghosts at a time. In this state they are also able to use ghostly power to lift, throw, move, teleport, or possess objects; They are also able to command another ghosts to possess an object, and control the movements of that object through the ghost possessing it. This ghostly state only lasts for a short time, and after exiting it, the user will be drained and unable to move, or possibly faint. However, the amount of ghosts the user controlled in this state, will attempt to protect the user for a small portion of the time that the user is incapacitated.

Traits

  1. Children of Melinoe usually enjoy talking to ghosts, preferring their company over the living.
  2. Children of Melinoe often have two sided personalities, one angelic and bright. The other demonic and dark.
  3. Children of Melinoe typically enjoy scaring people and are not easily frightened themselves
  4. Children of Melinoe sometimes grow up to be paranormal investigators.

CassadeeShe takes a deep breath scanning her surroundings. The oasis standing in between of the two lightened the hardened tension going on between the combatants. A few palm trees are scattered around the serene area, a variety of different sized coconuts hang lightly, being pushed gently by the wind. Cassadee exhales with a whistle and shuts her eyes, then takes another shallow, staccato breath and possess Ace's whip, coiling it around his legs, then attempts to dig the pellet into his leg.

Ace: He snaps his fingers again, causing the whip to disappear and then conjures a piano about two metres over her. He's breathing a bit heavier after summoning that, though.

CassadeeShe opens her eyes and lets out an exasperated breath. Hastily, she goes into an intangible state and fades in a ghost like manner. She appears behind the piano, breathing thickly, realizing she could've been pulverized. After catching her breath, she gives him a sly smirk, and paces around the area behind the piano. She mutters a few words, summoning a banshee behind him, still in an intangible state, the sound wouldn't deafen her.

Ace: He falls to his knees, his hands covering his ears until he can concentrate enough to conjure a pair of hearing protectors. He spins around, conjuring a sword in his right hand while doing it and decapitates the banshee.

CassadeeGiggles softly, then returns to a tangible state. She summons a poltergeist, then leans forward against the piano. The poltergeist plucks two of the strings from the piano, then approaches Ace, lashing both clumsily, but with a dire force. Cassadee watches, regaining energy.

Ace:  He teleports to a spot right behind her, swinging diagonally down from the right, the sword in his right hand.

CassadeeThe cut travels down in a slanted movement causing her to let out a painful cry, but before it could pass her spine, she puts the piano in an intangible state. She skids through the piano ending up on the opposite side, she clutches her wound, then brings her hand back, thin ribbons of blood dripping from them. She lets out an angered grunt, then she steps forward through the piano and brings out her dagger and attempts to stab his side.

Ace: He redirects the stab with his glove, kicking at her chest while doing so.

CassadeeHer dagger's pushed to the side, which gives a tight jerk at her arm. She pulls it back quickly, then sidesteps to the right, now out of the piano, then gets picks up a handful of sand and flings it at Ace, then aims a kick at his back.

Ace: The sand gets in his eyes and he tries to blink it out, then the kick hits his back and he falls to his knees. The sand is now out of his eyes, and they're only a bit teary.

CassadeeShe puts the piano back into a tangible state, then puts his sword into an intangible state. After, she trots over to be closer to the oasis. She ends up to the right of it. A few medium sized rocks are scattered around the area of the body of water. Palm trees loom over, coconuts hanging like bats.

Ace: Noticing his sword falling out of his hand, he makes it vanish and runs after her. He notices the rocks and coconuts and, with a snap of his fingers, makes all of them fly towards her at breakneck speed. He's breathing hard after doing so though, as it took a lot of energy.

CassadeeThe sight of all the surrounding objects being pulled to her like a magnet, takes her aback. She takes evasive action and dives into the pond.

Ace: He continues controlling the objects, making them follow her.

CassadeeShe goes into an intangible state so that she can breath and avoid the objects.

Ace:  He lets most of the objects drop, but keeps one in the air, and holds it inside her stomach, so that if she were to become tangible she would have a fist-sized stone inside her. "Yield." He says. "I can keep this up forever, but how long can you stay intangible?"

CassadeeShe swims up to the surface, assuming the stone's still in her stomach. I don't know. She possess the stone and has it fly back at Ace Why don't we wait and see?

Ace: He hits the rock with his sword, dropping it the ground. He then proceeds to place a handful of pebbles in her instead of one big rock. "Very well then."

CassadeeSummons a banshee behind him, hoping the fact that she's still intangible and the shriek won't effect her, and will effect Ace, will cause him to lose concentration and have him drop the rocks.

Ace: He groans in pain, but puts on his hearing protectors from before, before he can drop the pebbles.

CassadeeShe cries out in frustration and uses her last bit of energy to turn his hearing protectors intangible.

Ace: He spins around, trying to kill the banshee, his left hand covering his left ear as best he can. Most of the pebbles drop to the ground, but a couple of them stay.

CassadeeShe possesses the pebbles and flings them at Ace. After, she returns to her tangible state, breathing heavily, gasping in high pitched, hurt cries.

Ace: He manages to kill the banshee, but is hit in the back by the pebbles. He turns back to her, an angry expression on his face. "I could take the kick, even the banshees. But throwing rocks at me? That's one too many mistakes." He drops the sword, creating a fireball the size of a basketball above each hand. "Yield. Now."

CassadeeShe takes a deep breath, and looks up at him, the fireball illuminating the area. She turns and runs, weak on her legs, toward a boulder. After reaching it, she runs behind it and crouches, attempting to regain strength.

Ace: He sighs and throws both fireballs, guiding them past the boulder and towards her.

Cassadee: She possesses one of the fireballs and has it collide with the other, causing it to enlarge in size. After, she redirects it and charges it at Ace, then mocks his tone, the fireball before him. Yield now

Ace: He teleports away, appearing in front of her. He then slashes horisontally, aiming at her throat.

Cassadee: She releaseses her control of the fireball, then cringes at the sight of the sword and twists to the side, the sudden movement causing the sword to slice the back of her neck. She cries out in agony, then goes into an intangible state and possesses the bolder, attempting to have it topple over on Ace

Ace: He takes a few steps back, out of the reach of the boulder.

Cassadee: She releases the boulder and grunts in frustration. Still on the floor, thick ribbons of blood licking down her back. She takes a breath and looks up at him. Your clever.

Ace: "Quite. Now, do you yield?"

Cassadee: She nods, agonizing pain coursing through her neck Fine, but you'll have to take me to dinner after I get cleaned up. She gives him a weak smirk
