|Analeese Nicole Sterling ~ Head Counsellor of Nemesis' Cabin|
"To take revenge halfheartedly is to court disaster; either condemn or crown your hatred." - Pierre Corneille
|Analeese walks through the arena. She wipes her brow free of sweat. The arena was humid, uncomfortable for those used to dry climates. She scanned the arena, the trees tangled and became deeper as the jungle progressed towards the temple. She wore black leather armor, the cuirass, greaves, gauntlets and boots protected her head, hands, torso and feet whilst allowing a degree of freedom. She was glad. This arena was too hot for heavy armor. She crouched down, keeping her silhouette and her center of gravity low. Her left hand closes on the handle of her whip, a scabbard of throwing knives slung on her shoulder and her quarter-staff folded and attached to the loops of her belt. "Game on." She thinks, a smile shifting upon her lips.|

Daevyd: Daevyd sits against the tree, hiding in the shadows, waiting for some sign of his opponent. Sneaky lil' girl. Wonder where she's hiding. He thinks to himself, smiling a bit at the thought of running his blades through some form of matter.
Analeese: Analeese walks through the depths of the forest, taking her time. The thickets become closer and closer, until it is difficult to see anything in the darkness except light in the distance. She guesses the lights are torches, a necessity to see in the dark forest. The place sends shivers up the curves of her spine, whether a sixth sense or a result of her claustrophobia she doesn’t know. The daughter of Nemesis eventually finds the outskirts of the temple. There are a few pyres lit with burning wood. She finds a dead tree, dried out long ago and snaps off a branch. She tears off some fabric from her undershirt and wraps it around the branch. Finally she lights it, making her own makeshift torch so she could track Daevyd down in the darkness. She takes some time to rest, safe in the knowledge that the temple area is relatively clear and the 6ft statues can be used as cover if necessary. “Afraid?” She taunts, waving her torch around to aid her eyesight. Her pale eyes catch a glimpse of a dark silhouette. Instinctively Echo, the snake whip coiled at her side is drawn in one hand, her makeshift torch in the other.
Daevyd: Daevyd feels a slight disturbance but passes it off as the local creatures moving around. "Goddamn place is filled with too many rodents. I want to burn them al-" He looks away from the tree to see a small flare of light. He focuses and blends into the shadows focusing on an area closer to the light, only to materialize outside of a human's line of sight while in darkness. But he was closer to the light now, and saw a reasonably sized human. </span>Reasonably sized, angelic curves, hmmm, must be my opponent. He thought to himself suppressing a smile. He just sits, staring at the torch, wondering how he could put it out.
Analeese: Analeese waits for Daevyd to approach her, aware that there was no mistaking the light of her torch. She walks through the dark undergrowth. As she knew he was a son of Thanatos, Analeese had done some reading and surmised that his plan of attack would center around attacking her when she didn't quite expect it. Still, he could cloak himself in the shadows and scamper about all he wanted, for the daughter of Nemesis wanted to be found. The darkess meant that the shadows cast by the torch were the only place he could shadow-travel in close proximity to her, and that would take a lot of stamina to pull off. In a direct fight, she was confident that he could be taken down. She unknowingly walks a few steps closer to Daevyd and stops, listening out for any suspicious sounds.
Daevyd: Daevyd holds up a centipede that he had picked up and squishes it with a couple leaves of poison ivy, that way if he gets in a hit, it will at least drive her crazy first. He sheathes his daggers behind his belt, in their proper sheathes. Daevyd waits for the torch to get closer, and shows himself, throwing his katars at her feet. "I'm done." He holds a hand out offering to hold the torch. "You deserve a beer for this. Making me quit and all, what do you say."
Analeese: Analeese regards Daevyd with suspicion. She carefully sweeps the katars to the side with her foot; keeping a firm hand on her whip. "Why not? There are more fun ways to get sweaty." She remarks and throws the torch in his face at point blank range, freeing her left hand and taking a few steps backwards. The daughter of Nemesis sends a small wave of energy to unbalance him and runs off towards the temple, hoping to gain a several second lead.
Daevyd: Daevyd falls to the ground, throwing the torch into a nearby bush, watching it burn. He feels normal, no more tingling, so he gets up and while picking up his katars, sees her shadow run off toward the temple. He decides to shadow teleport some distance away from the entrance of the temple, waiting, letting the darkness coat him, and drops down. "Come on! I just offered you a beer, and I gave up. Let's go get a cold one, and I might take you up on the idea to get sweaty in other ways." He chuckles near the end.
Analeese: Analeese shrugs her slim shoulders, as Daevyd appears once more. She is hesitant to let her guard down, but after previous arena fights and training, the daughter of Nemesis is ready for an ice cold beer. “Fuck it. I can’t be arsed. Let’s just get out of here, we’ll train or something tomorrow.”
OOC: The author is lazy xD >.<
Daevyd: Daevyd smiles and wraps an arm around her waist. "So, how about that offer about getting sweatier?" He smiles and chuckles, wondering if she will take him seriously. As they get deeper into the jungle, Daevyd pulls out a dagger and presses it against her back, above her heart. "You make one move, and this dagger goes right into your system. And if the dagger won't, the poison will kill you." He whispers into her ear. "You can never be sure who is your enemy, and who is your friend, but you knew that by now." He smiles as he drives the dagger inward for emphasis. "You've got two choices right now, give up, or suffer a huge amount of irreversible injuries. It's your call. Either way, I'm going to get a beer afterwards, whether you join me, depends on how you act right now."
Analeese: Analeese laughs, as he presses the dagger against her heart. The daughter of Nemesis seriously doubts that the weapon is poisonous, but she decides not to take chances. “I like a man who can play rough. You’ll have to teach me that trick sometime.” She smirks and holds still, glancing back to the son of Thanatos with a flip of her dark hair. “You really shouldn’t cross a daughter of Nemesis, I could swear revenge and that could get pretty ugly. Provided you let me life of course.” She remarks sardonically, trying to get out of his hold before realising that there was nothing she could do due to inexperience. “Bastard. You got me this time. I thought a gentleman asks before sticking sharp objects into a lady.”
Daevyd: He laughs and moves the dagger away from her back. "Again, know your friends and enemies. I let you live, I'm your friend, trust me. I'm just teaching you what to do and what not to do during a fight. So, how about those beers?" He pecks her cheek before wrapping his arm around her waist and tugging her to the Thanatos cabin. "And yes, a gentleman does, but a gentleman likes to play fair too. You can see that I am not gentle, nor do I play fair. Anyway, about the umm... Sharp things you were talking about. I'm not sure my girlfriend would be happy about that." He looks down at the dagger. "This was coated in centipede guts and poison ivy. I don't know if it was poisonous or not, but it would have been painful. So, let's go get those beers, and not do something we would regret." He chuckles and winks at her.
Analeese: “Good.” Analeese smirks and steps out of his reach before his lips could grace the side of her cheek, she waves her arm and sends a small wave of energy to playfully buffet him. “Try and kiss me again, and I promise I’ll tear you a second arsehole, friend or not.” She winks and playfully punches the side of his arm. “I’ll be fine. I’m not like other girls.” She says, shrugging her shoulders. “A girl learns to handle herself, growing up around a cohort of men. Fortunately most were too high to try anything. Knocking them off balance was child’s play.” She grins, feeling some slight nostalgia. “Come, let’s get that beer.”
