Forest/Jungle Arena

Forest Jungle Arena
  • This arena is essentially a tightly compacted jungle/forest, with tall cliffs along the edges of the arena
  • At various points in the forest/jungle there are some small waterfalls and ponds
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements, however due to the tightly compacted nature of the jungle/forest, there are areas where the sky cannot be seen, along with lots of shadows and places to hide
  • At the centre of the arena (jungle/forest), there is a medium sized temple, it is the darkest at this point and there are pyres, full of fire and wood, at the entrance to the temple. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
  • Inside the temple are various Greek statues, roughly 6 feet tall
  • There are numerous and various species of wildlife hidden amongst the forest/jungle, but none larger than a grizzly bear


Pre-Fight

Analeese makes her way to the jungle arena. She's wearing a light set of CHB armour. Her short-swords are sheathed on either hip, and her crossbow is strapped to her back, alongside a quiver with around fifteen celestial bronze bolts. She wears a silk bandanna around her head to try and keep herself cool in the humid arena. She can hear the sounds of jungle animals in the distance, as Analeese waits for the gong to announce when her competitor would arrive.

Character's Powers

 ====Offensive====

  1. Children of Nemesis have the ability to send a small wave of energy which will cause anyone affected to lose their balance and fall; after the effects have worn off, a person is immune to further effects of this for a moderate time.
  2. Children of Nemesis, after receiving a wound, are able to empower their next successful attack, causing it to do more damage than it normally would.

Defensive

  1. Children of Nemesis can create a field of energy around them that causes all people nearby to lose their balance fall to the ground and continue to fall if they try to get up; the user is drained the longer the field is sustained.

Passive

  1. Children of Nemesis are innately balanced and are great at climbing.
  2. Children of Nemesis have innate reflexes which allows them to fight and dodge quickly.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Nemesis are able to empower a wounded ally with the fervor to achieve vengeance upon the one who wounded them; this effect greatly increases the strength and speed of the ally when they fight the one who wounded them until vengeance is achieved.
  2. Children of Nemesis have the ability to cause someone near them to regard others with no personal favor or disdain and consider everything based purely upon facts.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. For every attack against them, Children of Nemesis have the ability to create a counter-attack that is equal in force to the attack made against them. The user is temporarily vulnerable and weakened after each use, so they must be used sparingly

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Nemesis have the ability to link themselves and another person into a state of pure balance, forcing the other person to mirror the child of Nemesis’ movements without the ability to move of their own accord and while this link is sustained, any wound that either of the two suffers, the other suffers it as well; once the link is broken, on top of retaining any wounds sustained while linked, the child of Nemesis is greatly drained and unable to fight for a moderate time.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Nemesis can create a field around them, and anyone within that field has their demigod powers neutralised for a short time, anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, this puts anyone fighting around the child of Nemesis on even turf as they all can only use their melee/hand to hand combat skills to fight with. While the child is perpetuating this field, they are not able to attack themselves and are vulnerable.

Traits

  1. Children of Nemesis tend to be well balanced people
  2. They can tell when someone's life is out of balance with either too much good or too much bad

As analeese came into the Jungle Arena, Tydal stared at her for she was already in the jungle arena. She was high in the trees at least 20 meters above ground. She was balancing herself on one of the branch hmm where can I hide...she said to herself as she continued to look around the dense forest, She made a mental note for each of the statues and the trees hoping it would be to her advantage. As she scan through the dense forest once more her eyes looked at analeese seeing her light set of armour noting the existence of her sword and crossbow seems like she's prepared she said to herself once more looking down at her her own armour which was just some scaled armor made from the finest leather this was just to protect her abdomen and torso of course as her arms was protected by a pair of arm piece made from some lightweight metal to enable swift movement. Beneath her armour she wore a light green turtle neck shirt matching with her sneakers. I should great her...Tydal said to herself before jumping down from the branch taking her weapon which she placed at the bark of the tree. Her weapon was her loyal sword with some daggers and smoke bomb hidden in her armor hello she said to analeese with a smile

Having trained several times in the jungle arena, Analeese already knows the jungle layout pretty well. She's leant against a tree, when her competitor jumps down and lands nearby. Tydal looks to be lightly armored, except for the sword at her hip. The daughter of Athena had a strategy no doubt. She was unfazed. Her light hazel eyes scan the local environment, checking for escapes, sniping posts and any way which she could use it to gain the advantage. "Pleasure." Her lips flit upwards in a smirk. "I look forward to seeing how you fight." She said to her fellow head counsellor, offering a calloused hand.

The Fight

Analeese: "None." Ana says coldly. Her mind goes into battle-mode. Tydal seems pretty-well equipped, but she reckons that with her height and weight advantage, the odds can be turned in her favour. "Are we going to stand around all day or are we gonna fight?" She asks, drawing both of her short-swords. She starts to circle the daughter of Athena. Quickly feinting to the right, she slashes her blade for Tydal's left shoulder to test her defences.

Tydal: Analeese quick feinting manage to distract her but as she made her move toward Tydal's shoulder, She quickly move to the left to avoid blade.She was lucky the blade miss her shoulder her hair however wasn't as lucky your good she commented as she took out her sword and tried to attack Analeese left arm.

Analeese: "I wouldn't be a counsellor if I wasn't." Analeese's fast reflexes allow her to side-step the blow. Moving to the right, she moves in a circular motion. Her leg snaps for the tendons in the back of Tydal's leg, probably over-extended due to her attack to the left. She tries to sweep low, and knock her over a nearby log, or at least throw her off balance.

Tydal: upon seeing the Ana's fast reflexes she used her clairvoyance gift to foresee her opponents next move Oh dear...she said to herself before doing a back flip and landing on one of the branches near them. She soon jump to another one trying to hide from Analeese

Analeese: She's caught by surprise, when her foot meets air, rather than Tydal's legs. She stumbles a little, but regains her balance. This would give the daughter of Athena enough time to climb onto the branches of the first tree. As Tydal's unlikely to have climbed high enough in such a short time, Ana sees movement nearby, as she jumps towards another tree. She targets a small wave of energy for the blur to try knock Tydal off the tree branch before she can get away.

Tydal: the wave hits her and as she fell from the tree she thought fast and started to to use her six months power and turned into a small owl flying far away to one of the statue to gain sanctuary

Analeese: The wave connects with the blur, knocking her from the trees. However, the daughter of Athena transforms into an owl and avoids injury. As she escapes, the daughter of Nemesis sheathes her two blades. The bird's too small to make a good target, so she climbs a nearby tree, where the canopy is thinner to try and track Tydal's movements. 

Tydal: as she flew in the owl form she ordered at least 4 owls to come out and fly with her. Slowly she told the 3 owls to hide hoping that Analeese would target the other two rather than her. One owl flew toward the east, another flew to the west side and while one accompany her north. The two owls flew together before she changed back human and landed onto a clearing. She knew she had zero time thus she collected some small sized rock and tore a bit of her shirt with the two she made somewhat a slingshot and in the middle of the rope she placed one of her smoke bomb. As if analeese cut the rope the smoke bomb will activate the smoke that would give her a bit more time to do other stuff

Analeese: As a daughter of Nemesis, Analeese is easily able to climb around thirty feet, and get a good view of the surrounding area. She spots several owls flying together. She assumes a couple are decoys. Half-impressed by Tydal's move, she decides to follow on foot. Tydal could only stay transformed for so long. She descends to where the foliage is a little thicker and follows, her footsteps hidden by the sounds of animals. The owls stand out against the green of the jungle, as they lead her to a clearing. She surveys the area from a tree branch and lies in wait.

Tydal: as she completed one of her weapon she began to search for a long stick and some sharp rocks to make shift a s a temporary weapon for when Analeese come to attack her she also summons some owls to stay on guard around the clearing to warn her if analeese came by. After a few minutes searching she found a branch perfect for the use now all thats left is a sharp rock to make her spear perfecthmm she said to herself as she was reminded to the statue maybe....she said slowly as she started to walk to one of the statue hoping to be lucky

OOC: Mel, I am really confused here. Aren't they meant to be in the North quadrant of the arena. The statues are in the center of the arena? Also, I assume Tydal is unarmed and trying to make improvised weapons, and her previous trap is a sling? If I am wrong, correct me.

Analeese: She spots a group of owls enter the clearing and assumes that they're standing watch. Analeese guesses that Tydal is somewhere nearby, and deliberately snaps a tree branch to alert the owls to her own presence. As the owls would fly back in panic, she would dismount the tree and approach on foot, since the forest becomes thicker. She ties her bandanna around the lower half of her face, and camouflages herself in mud to reduce her visibility. Reaching Tydal, she draws her crossbow and takes aim, hidden somewhere in the scrub. The daughter of Athena should know she was nearby, but not necessarily know her exact location. She takes aim with her crossbow and fires for the back of her leg, trying to slow her down.

Tydal: she felt something amidst as she began to walk to the temple not knowing what she closed her eyes using her clairvoyance powers to see what Analeese was up to. She foresee Analeese was drawing her arrow and shooting her. She didnt stop walking knowing that it would draw attention thus she decided to deceive her thus she took out one of her smoke bomb waiting for the perfect time

Analeese: As soon as she fires the first bolt, she moves across to hide her position, using the six feet statues as cover while she crosses the temple threshold. As a daughter of Nemesis, Analeese's reflexes are quick enough to allow her to reload her crossbow within a few seconds. She takes aim and fires three shots, two aimed for Tydal's legs, another targeted for her shoulder.

Tydal: she held the smoke bomb in her hand as she closed her eyes trying to use her telepathic powers to predict Analeese next move. As she did that she saw Analeese aiming two arrows toward her legs. She felt it was about time to use the bombs thus as the arrows came closer it was engulfed by white smoke. Tydal manage to avoid the two arrows yet the third aiming for her shoulder hit her left arm

Analeese: A cloud of smoke engulfs the area. Analeese doesn't know whether her arrows have hit Tydal, yet the open expanse of the temple means that the smoke bomb isn't quite effective as it could be. Her bandanna mostly protects her from breathing in the smoke. She decides to continue the offensive and storms through the cloud of smoke. A field of energy surrounds her, it would cause anything in the area to lose its balance and fall. As Tydal wouldn't have much time to get away, especially with the arrow wound in her shoulder, she should be ensnared in the metaphorical net.

Tydal: As expected Ana's powers made her felt and with her wound she thought fast on what to do before Ana could attack then with a deafening war cry hoping it would give her some sort of leverage

Analeese: Tydal's war cry causes Ana to hesitate for a moment. She sheathes her crossbow while her field is still in place, and draws her two short-swords. The cry, coupled with the smoke which should be thinning out allows her to locate the daughter of Athena. She lets the field fall to conserve the rest of her energy.

Tydal: As the smoke slowly disappeared slowly Tydal looked around seeing a few rooms she quickly ran inside knowing this would be a cat and mouse game with Analeese taking the lead thus she took no time to look for what she needed with an arrow stuck in her shoulder

Analeese: Analeese enters the temple, sheathing her swords. She searches the alcoves, which hold past offerings to the gods. She swipes a bottle of vodka from Dionysus' shrine, and tears off part of an old tapestry. Soaking the rag in alcohol, she draws a blade. She heads towards the few open rooms, where she can hear someone rummaging for supplies, and lights the makeshift molotov on a nearby torch. She throws it into the room she thinks Tydal is in; on impact it should explode and ignite any flammable items within distance. Smirking, she takes a few steps back and waits.
