Personality History Powers Aolani is a very sheepish nymph. She never warms up to people on a first meeting. She may voice out her opinions within the first thirty seconds of one's first conversation with her, but then she climbs back into her shell of solitude and it takes much longer to coax her out. For years, the gods and goddesses have watched on while the humans developed through the years, as they advanced both personally and technologically. Lately one thing has become quite clear to them; humans have a habit of being very irresponsible when it comes to their environment and the animals that reside within that environment. They came to a decision, fearing for the safety and longevity of their sacred animals, they have decided to create a special group of nymphs to help protect their sacred animals. These nymphs’ life forces are each attached to the animal they are a nymph of; if that animal becomes extinct, the nymph will die. The gods considered the fact that here are thousands of animals and creatures that roam the earth, but not wanting to over extend their powers, they have decided to only concern themselves with the animals that are sacred to them. When they aren’t out in the world helping other nymphs and helping to protect their animals, they spend their time at camp. She arrived at camp on July 5, 2015. On the date of her creation, her patron, Poseidon, explained to Aolani her responsibility to this world and to the animals she were to guard. Poseidon stationed her in Honolulu, Hawaii where she made her first home, friends, and family. Humans and sea animals alike. She was loved by all who knew her and all who knew her were envied by those who didn't. A particular stranger took a strong liking to Aolani, her friendliness and her over-trusting personality. So he sinned. He raped and harmed one of the most innocent creatures in Hawaii who had never harmed a soul and only did good to this world. The man deposited Aolani's unconscious body into the water and let her drift off into sea where the people of Hawaii could never see her again, hoping that the waves or a hungry shark would get the job done. Aolani woke up, at least in her yellow bikini that was almost ripped to shreds, afraid and hurting in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Her bubbly personality was gone replaced by a constant nervousness and small frown lines at the edges of her mouth. She had no recollection of the hours previous to her awakening because of how traumatizing the event was for her. No one ever told her about the specific harshness of this world that came to harm her, so she didn't know what the marking on her body were. With struggle because of her lack of energy, Aolani turned into her fish form, a golden angelfish. Before the incident, her body was spotless, but now there were black markings all around. She had no idea where to go or who to turn to, nor did she know where she was. Aolani sent out a telepathic distress call to see if any other nymph was out there. There wasn't. So she swam to a nearby coral and found shelter there. Aolani was small enough to fit and she needed to hide from predators that lurked about in the ocean. After waking up to the golden rays of morning, Aolani set out on her journey to find land. Any type of land or see if there were any other nypmhs out there who could help her find a place to stay. She couldn't stay in the water forever, loving land was the human part of her and she didn't deny it at all. Every few minutes, she sent out a distress call in hope for any nymph to come to her aid. After what seemed like an eternity, her distress call was heard by another fish nymph in the form of a paracanthurus hepatus (or what people know today as a 'Dory' except this one was male). Introductions were short, the other's name was Kenn, and Aolani briefly explained her situation and her need to find land. Luckily her new acquaintance was kind, knew his way around these parts and had nothing better to do, but it was going to be a long journey. Aolani agreed happily and they set off. It took two weeks before even the first sighting of land. This land, was a California beach coast in the city of San Diego. There were many people so the couple decided to change into their human forms. They didn't take much notice of each other after they transformed, for they had bonded over the days and looked at each other that way. But the way their human forms looked, they could be mistaken as siblings. Which they were and simply decided to go along with it. Kenn led Aolani to his little apartment near the beach that he popped into every once in a while to get some money. They left for the mall to pick up some clothes and a luggage for Aolani. Kenn had explained that there was a camp on the other side of the country where Aolani would be safe and cared for. Kenn had agreed to take her there graciously under the condition that they would somehow keep in touch. After getting a passport for Aolani, Kenn and her boarded a plane for Long Island, New York. From there, they took a taxi to the forest's edge. Aolani and Kenn said their goodbyes, reluctant to let go, and went their separate ways. Passive They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs. They also have a special, stronger connection with other animal nymphs. As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young. Their senses of smell, sight and hearing are enhanced, enabling them to sniff out monsters, track down demigods, etc. Supplementary They are able to summon animals to aid them; they have the best control over their own animal type. Specific to each Animal Type Each type of animal nymph has its life force attached to that species, so if a species were to go extinct the nymphs would die. Each nymph is able to change into the type of animal he/she is, and only that type. So the bear nymph could not turn into a mouse, but he/she could turn into a grizzly bear, black bear, polar bear, etc. While in animal form they have all the normal abilities of their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph he/she can fly. While in regular nymph/person form, they only retain passive characteristics/traits from their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph, perhaps he/she remains claustrophobic in enclosed spaces but cannot fly
