Robert Black met Melinoe on a dark, hazy day. The air was warm and sticky like honey and fog clouded the floor. He inched towards his camp quietly, hoping to keep hidden. He had been out, hunting a giant that had ransacked his camp on a previous trip. When he reached his base, he snuggled into his tent. To his surprise, a ghastly pale girl with eyes as grey as storm clouds and hair as black as night was laying at the right of the tent, eyeing Robert seductively. She introduced herself. Nothing formal, but it was enough to intrigue Robert. Being demigod, he knew the deities existed, and he immediately believed her when she said she was Melinoe, because her beauty was that of a goddess.
After her introduction, Robert courted her successfully. He took her out of the tent, and together they traveled throughout the forest. When their trip through the forest ended, they crawled in the tent, snuggled, and made love.
Time had passed, and Robert continued to see Melinoe. Being a busy business man, he saw her whenever he had time open, but his schedule was mostly full. He ran a strong law firm with his business partner George, of course, being a son of Themis attributed to the firms' strength. When Robert's business hours where over, Melinoe would visit his office, and they would have a casual chat, with a romantic dinner. On one of her visits, she announced to him that was she was pregnant, and their child was to be born very soon. Robert's heart shattered into tiny fragments. He knew she'd go and he know his son or daughter would have to grow up without a mother. Externally, Robert reacted to her announcement with a facade of surprise, painfully forcing a broken smile and an amused outburst of “Oh my Gods!” When they finished their meals, the dinner ended, and Melinoe departed.
Cassadee was sent to him on a stormy night. Rain was pounding on his house's roof and thunder growled at the Earth. He was reading a novel, when he was interrupted by a knock on the door. He closed his book and took off to see who would be knocking at such a late hour. When he opened the door, he saw nothing, but it wasn't until he heard light puffs of air, that he saw his own daughter in a content slumber. He took her in and read the letter that was left to the right of the veiled basket she was left in. It was a farewell from Melinoe. She knew he was the son of the law goddess, so she didn't say much about monsters, because she knew he knew of their existence. Instead, she said I love you to her now former lover and her newborn daughter.
Growing up for Cassadee was rather fun. She spent most of her time with her best friend, Lolita. She had been a daughter of Aphrodite and her father's business partner, George. They enjoyed typical games, until they hit adolescence. That is when the girls' lives went off. Not with a fizzle, but with a bang.
Cassadee started hunting with the Illuminati at the age of fourteen, when she received her weapon from Melinoe. The weapon had been curled, like a snake at rest. When she unwrapped the gift, and found it to be a whip. The lethal weapon was tipped with Celestial Bronze, and when she brought it closer to her, it coiled around her wrist, and converged into a silver bracelet.
Cassadee went on many missions with her group when she came into her powers. Upon first meeting the group as a whole, she befriended Alyce and Elias Montague. Elias, a brutal, ruthless warrior, was a son of Hephaestus, while his daughter, Alyce, was a daughter of Athena.
One day, Cassadee and the group came across a group of human/harpy children, she used the kids as a distraction, and took Lolita out to the deeper parts of the forest, to see a boy she had been having flings with, a son of Zeus. When they reached their rendezvous point, they saw the boy, and began conversing with him.
In mid conversation, a Hydra's roar echoed through the trees. It was close. The piercing roar stopped the kids' conversation, and they stood, petrified. Their pause was long, and before they knew it, the Hydra was before them, breathing jets of blazing hot fire. Cassadee and Lolita tried to engage in combat, but they hadn't gone up against a Hydra alone. They changed plans. They were going to retreat.
Right before they were about to turn and run, the Hydra knocked Lolita and the son of Zeus to opposite sides. Cassadee ran to Lolita's aid, and when she reached Lolita, a head of the Hydra was gnawing on the lifeless body of the other demigod. Lighting struck the Hydra, killing it, and a slight drizzle of rain began to fall upon Lolita and Cassadee. They retraced their steps, and on their way back to camp, they saw Alyce dart pass them. Knowing they should, they followed her.
They trailed her, until they hit camp. Upon arrival, they were claimed by their mothers and welcomed to their cabins by their half siblings.
