Powers
— Powers as a Daughter of Urania

— Children of Urania fire a concentrated blast of sound waves at a target, potentially throwing opponents off their feet from the sheer force.
— Children of Urania have the ability to focus an intense beam of stellar plasma which will burn anything it touches.
— Children of Urania can summon a miniature nebula around themselves, covering a small area in gaseous stardust. The nebula hangs in the air obscuring vision for a time, and can also contain tiny floating stars that are burning to the touch.
— Children of Urania can create a heavy cloak of stardust that blunts attacks for a time, but may slow the user.
— Children of Urania exude an inspiring aura that bolsters creativity and morale for themselves and their allies.
— Children of Urania can draw inspiration from works of art, becoming more powerful for a time after experiencing or creating them.
— Children of Urania are innately physically fit, possessing the speed, agility, coordination and flexibility needed for dance.
— Children of Urania can see perfectly in the night as if it were day.
— Children of Urania can sing at such a high pitch that it temporarily deafens anyone nearby, affecting everyone but themselves regardless of friend or foe. The longer the pitch is maintained, the more energy is drained.
—Children of Urania can infuse charming magic into their words of reason, making others believe their logic and claims as truth. The person will remain under their influence for a few minutes. They can also imbue the same magic into written words, be it digitally or on paper, automatically affecting anyone that reads them. They can only keep up the charm on one passage of text at a time, however, and a passage can only affect a specific person once.
— Children of Urania can limit gravity’s effect on their bodies in order to levitate, or redirect it to “fly” by falling in a different direction. The longer they fly, the more it drains them.
— Children of Urania are able to divine the future by reading the stars at night, receiving cryptic insight into future events in the world or in their own lives. These signs are hard to interpret, however, and their predictions may not always come to pass.
— Children of Urania can summon up to eight miniature stars - burning balls of light about the size of a baseball - that orbit around them at varying distances and angles, which can be used defensively to repel attacks or offensively to force back opponents.
— Children of Urania have the power to cause up to three constellations to appear in their physical forms to fight alongside them. Each constellation will appear as an enlarged version of the thing it is based on except for human based constellations such as Orion which will be the size of a human. Constellations will dissipate after a short time, leaving the user moderately drained. For example, if the user summons the Cancer constellation, it will be a giant crab that cannot be bigger than 2 or 3 times the size of the user.
— Children of Urania have the ability to create a vast extraspacial astrolabe: essentially a personal pocket dimension that can be used for a variety of purposes. The astrolabe is composed of an invisible flat plane to stand on, has a breathable atmosphere, and is surrounded with constellations and nebulae that reflect those in the real world. The dimension itself is about the size of a football field before reaching an invisible dome, though an illusion makes it appear infinite. The child has complete control of gravity inside the astrolabe and can teleport themselves and any objects they’re touching into and out of it at will with moderate strain. They can also bring in people they’re touching, including opponents, but can’t influence their gravity, and anyone inside will be released if the user leaves or is incapacitated.
— Children of Urania are naturally gifted at all forms of art, from song and dance to painting and writing.
— Children of Urania are naturally charismatic.
— Children of Urania are often interested in astronomy, and pursue careers related to space.
— Children of Urania tend to be good at scientific writing.

Personality
— About Ophelia

Ophelia is a very guarded young woman. How could someone who's seen what she's seen not be? It takes a lot for her to open up to people no matter how much she wants to deep down inside. She's been shut off to others for so many years other than just small talk that she isn't overly sure how to even go about opening up. While it looks bleak at the moment, she hopes one day she'll be able to break down the wall she's built up over the years.

Ophelia is a bright person who approaches every situation with an open mind in order to best think of a way to either solve or get out of it. She's a thinker who always sets emotions aside when it comes to making any decision, something her mother taught her when she was young. A lot of the person Ophelia is today is nearly identical to her mortal mother. She's just as kind and caring, while finding a balance in keeping herself closed off. Her determination and tenacity is something that Ophelia always admired and is something she has struggled over the years to find in herself but is continuously working on finding it.

She's never really been one to keep quite about certain situations either, if Ophelia thinks something is wrong or unjust, she wont hesitate to speak up about it. While she may no longer wear her head scarf, it doesn't mean she isn't vocal about the issues she's faced. Ophelia has a strong backbone and isn't afraid to go head to head if absolutely necessary.

History
— About Ophelia's Life

Around twenty years ago, Melete and Aiode went to Ouranos with complaints that they felt shafted and forgotten as the older Mousai. Their anger was, primarily, directed at the newer nine Mousai. Ouranos agreed to help upon feeling jaded himself that people refer to Zeus as lord of the skies and, seeing as the Muses are his daughters, they were perfect mutual targets. The three set about creating nine places across the globe wherein the Muses can be trapped and their essences diminished. They theorised that, as the world lost all the things the Muses facilitated, the Olympians' influence would begin to diminish.

Urania being one of the nine newer Mousai, of astrology to be more specific, along with her fellow Muses all sensed something was in the works. For such reasons, Urania and the other eight Muses all went down to the mortal realm in order to get pregnant. It was their intention to instil their essence into each child and essentially make pseudo-Mousai to carry on their legacy and save them if something were to actually happen.

Mortal woman Adara Noori was Urania's consort. A muslim woman living in Morocco with her parents on a family farm. It was perfect for a demigod child who would be as powerful as Urania herself. The farm's odour would mask any demigod blood within miles. That night, Urania went down to the farm disguised as a woman needing shelter during a harsh storm that had blown in and ultimately Adara and Urania had conceived a child that was dropped on Adara's doorstep a week later.

Prior to leaving, Urania explained everything she could through a letter to Adara, and off she went. The daughter of the two was named Alya after the Theta Serpentis star system.

Alya lived a concealed life on the family farm, and was largely protected by her mother and grandparents who swore to keep young Alya safe. Around her seventh birthday was when her grandfather had passed of a heart attack, and it was at that point that the farm had become too much for the Noori family to keep.

By Alya's eighth birthday was when Adara had met a man who she had fallen in love with. A businessman from Texas named Xavier Santi who was on vacation in Morocco for a short period of time. Having continued a long distance relationship after his vacation had come to an end, eventually a year later when the farm had sold he offered for Adara to come live with him with her mother and Alya.

The move to Texas was a culture shock to say the least, having lived in a community where they were once welcome and their religion wasn't a topic of discourse, and then moving to America, it was hard for Alya to fit in at first. While she didn't want to, her mother advised her to take on a more Americanized persona. Thus, Alya had taken off her head scarf for good and went as the guise Ophelia.

As Ophelia, the backlash she faced for her religion was still evident but not nearly as severe. Which was good because what she didn't need was unwarranted hatred on top of now being more out in the open and less concealed when it came to monster attacks.

As her demigoddess scent was enhanced due to essentially being a pseudo-muse, Ophelia's first occurrence with a monster was mere months after the move. She was nine when a juvenile hellhound had caught her scent while she was walking home from school. It wasn't as tactful in the way it tried to attack her as some more matured monsters would be. Which, luckily for Ophelia, made it easy to confuse and thus she was able to lose it by taking shelter in a nearby store. When Ophelia had gotten home and told her mother what had happened, panicked and scattered when retelling the story, Adara knew immediately this was what she was warned about.

Fearing for her daughter's life, she prayed to Urania that night for help. Asking the goddess for something that would help in protecting her daughter from the monsters of the world. Both mortal and non-mortal. It was that next morning that a parcel came in the mail, one from an unknown person. There wasn't a return address or anything, but Adara could only assume by the star spangled stamp on the box it was from Urania. Inside was a simple bracelet with astrology symbols engraved into it, but what Ophelia quickly realized is that the bracelet doubled as a katana.

Xavier, in the know about Ophelia's heritage, was willing to help train her. Having basic knowledge himself in how to utilize a sword just due to his own family's interests. It took a solid year for Ophelia to become skilled enough to be confident wielding the weapon. Which was perfect because as she got older monsters were drawn more to her scent. Being able to handle them with confidence not only with her katana but also utilizing her powers as much as she could to get a handle on how things worked.

Ophelia was fourteen when she lost her grandmother to cancer, and while she took it hard, the loss of her mother when she was seventeen was what broke Ophelia. It was as horrific as things could get for her, she watched her mother get shot right in front of her simply due to the head scarf she wore. That was her mother, the only person left in the world that actually shared her blood. Sure, she had Xavier still but a step-father can't fill the void of a mother. Due to this Ophelia became heavily closed off and guarded, she spoke very little to those around her and by the time she was able to head off to university she jumped at the opportunity to leave.

Ophelia knew she was running from her problems, but they always seemed to follow in the form of a cyclops or a hellhound. She was always able to quickly dispose of the creatures and go about her life, or whatever life she was trying to make it seem like she had. In reality all she did was go to classes, walk across campus to her room, and lock herself in for the night, sometimes even for a couple days. Having only Xavier at her graduation and not her mother was almost as heartbreaking as the day she lost her. The mother who always pushed her to be the best her she could be, and didn't want anything standing in her way, even her beliefs.

Having finished school by twenty-two, Ophelia didn't know where else to go. She had known of Camp Half-Blood for years now but was always told there wasn't a place for a child of Urania such as herself. It was Xavier who had to push her to just go see, explaining that it might give her a sense of a new family that she clearly needed. And if not that then at least she'd meet people who were like her and shared many of the same stories. Reluctant at first, it took her four months to finally listen to her step-father's words. Making her way to Camp Half-Blood alone. A place she knew there wasn't a place for her, but a place she hoped would accept her for who she was anyways.
