For years, the gods and goddesses have watched on while the humans developed through the years, as they advanced both personally and technologically. Lately one thing has become quite clear to them; humans have a habit of being very irresponsible when it comes to their environment and the animals that reside within that environment. They came to a decision, fearing for the safety and longevity of their sacred animals, they have decided to create a special group of nymphs to help protect their sacred animals.
These nymphs’ life forces are each attached to the animal they are a nymph of; if that animal becomes extinct, the nymph will die. The gods considered the fact that here are thousands of animals and creatures that roam the earth, but not wanting to over extend their powers, they have decided to only concern themselves with the animals that are sacred to them.
When they aren’t out in the world helping other nymphs and helping to protect their animals, they spend their time at camp.
Spring 2012
After being created, Talon remained on Olympus for a while, hearing stories of animal nymphs and spirits who had gone down weeks or days before him who had no knowledge of the world and ended up embarrassing themselves in many different ways - and often. As such, he requested to Zeus that he stayed on Mt. Olympus in order to gain knowledge and how to do his job effectively.
As Talon had been among the first guardians of his animals, Zeus agreed and for the next six months Talon remained on Mt. Olympus under Zeus' influence, gaining a large ego and a sense of self.
Next Six Months
After spending six months on Olympus Talon finally travelled the world to help out the golden eagles. Or, that was his cover story. In reality he had gained a love for seeing the world on Olympus and had decided to use his job as a way to visit the places he had only heard about.
During this period Talon did nothing besides his tourist-like life. Deciding that Talon probably knew what he was doing, Zeus turned a blind eye to it.
At the end of the six months Talon was called back up to Olympus for an assignment.
Spring 2013
Talon, a dolphin guardian, dog guardian, tiger guardian and a bear guardian were sent into China to improve the quality of their animals' eyes. Dolphins, tigers and panda bears, being endangered in China, obviously needed the most help. However, due to the mistreatment of dogs it was decided that dog guardian would also be sent. Zeus, upon hearing the patron gods' intentions got annoyed and insisted that one of his guardians should be sent too in order to overlook the whole ordeal, adding that eagles were also endangered to some extent in China.
Spring 2013 - Current Day
The operation went well until the reasons as to why Talon was operation was revealed to him, causing his ego to grow, convincing himself that Zeus had chose him to lead the group rather than save his own animals.
On top of that, due to the group's diversity of animals the guardians were often paired up and had strategic days - even weeks - where they'd focus on one area of China. Of course, Talon's ego caused him to believe that all operations should pass by him and should be led by him to ensure maximum effectiveness. Inevitably, this caused arguments within the groups as the number of animals being helped at once began to decrease.
The 'leadership' that Talon had thought he had also made him believe that he should lead everything and that everyone should listen to him no matter the situation and follow him, no matter the action. Again, this caused arguments between the group.
After months of the poor quality of leadership in the form of Talon, the dog guardian had enough and made the decision to save one hundred emaciated dogs. After the dog guardian didn't turn up to one of the meetings Talon held often, the golden eagle guardian essentially interrogated the other guardians until they told him of the dog guardian's whereabouts. Soon, Talon was soaring in the sky and eventually found the dog guardian who was in the process of saving the dogs by stealing cooked steaks from a restaurant and transporting the dogs to a safer location.
Naturally, Talon decided that he needed to intervene, sparking an argument between the two guardians. The noise, which happened in the main kitchen, caused a series of staff to barge into the room where they found two males and one hundred dogs. In haste, Talon turned into his eagle form and flew off, flying into a series of pipes on his way out which eventually ignited a fire that was followed by a small amount of explosions, killing the emaciated dogs, the dog guardian and the staff who'd checked on the kitchen.
When news reached the four dog patrons, each were extremely bitter towards Talon and each held individual grudges and they had decided collectively to curse him to teach his lesson. Hades cursed him so that he would be haunted by dead dogs wherever he went. Hecate's curse was that whenever Talon was in his animal form he'd look sickly and unattractive, abandoned and emaciated. Ares cursed him so that all other animals (guardians and normal animals) were scared of him and tried to avoid him or run if possible. Finally, Lyssa's curse was that all living dogs were angry at him and some attempted to attack him. The only way in which Talon could break the series of curses was if he rescued one hundred and one dogs to make up for those who had died.
Personally setting the goal for himself after months of the curses in play, Talon decided to go to Camp so he could collect his thoughts and hopefully escape the chaos and problems he was faced with until he could formulate a plan.
