Camp Half-Blood Role Playing Wiki

Before I begin, I would like to officially announce my resignation from the position of Bureaucrat of this wiki, and that I am stepping down to the level of "regular user" at the request of fellow Bureaucrats King and Lott. I'd like to thank the members of this wiki for their continued support over the past few months, and my department for the work it's done, though please do remember that I'm not going anywhere and should remain on the wiki for many more months to come. I wish my successor the best of luck in his or her new position, and strongly hope that his her her ambitions do not meet the same end as mine have.

Hi everyone, my apologies for this somewhat late blog, but I found myself indisposed over the majority of this weekend. As I stated earlier, the conclusion of debate and voting on both the Camp Council and Broken Covenant Summit will allow this story to move forward, and for some of those currently sitting on the sidelines to step into the spotlight. Also, in response to the outcomes of these meetings, I have made a few changes to the fashion in which Lilith's Letter, and any future "campaigns" conducted by me, will operate. First off, instead of allowing debate to drag on during meetings, I will be cutting it off once everyone has had a chance to speak at least once and force us to go into a voting procedure on most of the solutions proposed. I realize that this may sound a little heavy handed at first, but as I hope you are all aware, activities in which over seven people are actively involved typically descend into chaos within a matter of days if not hours. Additionally, quests will be altered slightly to reflect the focus of this campaign. The point here is not to spend days and days traveling across empty countryside. Instead, I hope to see everyone become involved in the story, the way it plays out, the characters involved, and the eventual outcome. As a result I'm going to be asking everyone to keep traveling to a minimum, as these quests will not be following the typical prophecy pattern. I'll explain more below.

Questing[]

The integration of the current questing system into this project is a somewhat tenuous process as there are many elements to the existing system that aren't quite compatible. Prophecies, for one, don't make much sense in the context of a campaign without god involvement (the gods know nothing of Pagos as he's been trapped away for so long, and Lilith doesn't trust them to begin with) and secondly the long and slow paced quests we have right now don't quite work with the faster paced feeling I'd like the campaign to have. So, basically, the prophecy will be replaced by a piece of information and some form of objective given by the Camp Council or Broken Covenant Summit. It is entirely up to the questing group how they want to interpret the information, and how they wish to carry out the objectives they are given. In fact, they can choose to disregard the objective entirely if they so wish, and they will still receive a beneficial outcome. See, no matter what the group or governing body decides, I will do my best to match my loose conception of the campaign story-line to their actions and conclusions. This may be difficult, as people make a habit of circumventing my expectations, but as I said I will do my best. All I ask in return is for those involved in these quests to do their own part to make the quest flow smoothly and ensure it's fun for everyone involved. Although I love inter-party conflict and branching story-lines, please try to keep in-fighting and long-term character development to a minimum as these quests should be shorter and each of you is part of a larger story anyway. Also, traveling should be kept short and leaving from camp within a few lines would be preferred. Again, the point of these quests isn't really long-term character development but more to see how characters react when problems are thrown at them, especially problems they haven't anticipated. Think of it more like a movie as opposed to a book. Books take their time fitting in details essential to the story and characters, but movies simply don't have time to cram all of that in (despite what some of us may wish to the contrary) and nor do we with this campaign.

Some other small changes will be worked in by yours truly, though they should be small and relatively specific to each quest and its group. Many involve surprises I'd prefer not to give away, yet.

Information[]

Questing aside, the majority of what each of you should be dealing with is sorting out and fitting together various pieces of information characters will pick up along the way. As time passes and more are gathered, you should be able to paint a relatively accurate picture of exactly what Pagos is up to and, if the right choices are made, you may even be able to locate some fun prizes in the form of characters (There will be five of these). Given that we're all here on the same wiki, and there's basically no way to prevent metagaming, all information discovered by either faction is available to the other faction. As a result of this, the wise decision made by the Camp Council to search Lilith's Room revealed a torn piece of paper with location names on it. The teams dispatched by both sides may want to check these out:

Seattle, Belfast, Rio De Janerio, Cairo, Guangzhou, Sydney

Actions[]

The following actions were passed:

Camp Council:

Create four volunteer groups of five to carry out reconnaissance in an attempt to find more about Pagos, Lilith, and the situation at hand, establish contact with the Broken Covenant, and search Lilith's Room for clues.

Broken Covenant Summit:

Create six separate volunteer teams of five to carry out reconnaissance in an attempt to find more about Pagos, Lilith, and the situation at hand. Also send a diplomat to camp to find out their opinion in the matter.

Basically this means that anyone can create a new quest with these objectives as long as there are not more than five already existing for their side. Please name each quest "Lilith's Letter: Team ___" and put it in the "Lilith's Letter" Category. If you are unsure of the number of quests currently out there, just take a look in the category and seek out the highest number. If there are twelve (Six for each side, not including the location for the BC -Camp meeting) already, please join one already there and if they are somehow all full simply leave a message on my talk page. Each quest can hold five members, and should be more than enough to suit everybody. If someone on your quest is not posting, they may be kicked via the regular means and the quest will continue without them. I will provide results to every quest even if it has only one member left. Also note that I will be moderating each quest and playing the part of any unusual (these being anything not from Greek Mythology) monsters or opponents. As a last note, I'd prefer it if we could keep things to one character per user on each round of quests for now. If they aren't full we can certainly allow users to fill in the gaps, but it's best to keep things open until then.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please drop me a message on my talk page.

Thanks,
