Issue[]
Due to some wording issues in the like, there is a new Inactivity Policy up for vote, with the following changes: 3 five day stretches of inactivity within 3 days of each other is grounds for demotion vote. Additionally, for it to be counted as activity, you must have made some kind of edit RPing or relevant to your department.

This is great, as it Motivates Actual Roleplay. I hadn't really done any in some time, so this should help get my arse moving. I'm gonna Saw You to Pieces! - Giriko, To his Opponents 23:00, March 5, 2012 (UTC)I can't really vote for this since if it passes I'll be considered inactive within around fifteen days. Given the overwhelming majority on the other side though, I suppose my time here is limited. Flamefang 04:24, March 6, 2012 (UTC)
My concern is what if someone goes on vacation or take the week off from rp in order to study for exam. How will that work out. User:Travelg
I honestly agree with Travelg. Head of Ravenclaw Send me an Iris Message 21:30, March 6, 2012 (UTC)
They'll be counted as inactive, and is acknowledged, therefore we know, and don't remove the position. The root of all fear is imagination - Asura, From Soul Eater 21:31, March 6, 2012 (UTC)
It's all about notifying you won't be as active, anyone who mentions it ahead of time, has never been marked inactive and sent into the mist. The problem is, we've had people repeatedly go mysteriously inactive for 14 to 21 days, come back on, make 2 edits to something, and than disappear again for 10 to 21 days with nothing. Also it says rp'ing OR something relevant to your department, and it's about demotions, not being marked inactive in general for all users.
Well, as I just got back from my round of inactiveness, I have to say I agree with the new vote. BUT, there are some things. If the user is demoted, but then they come back and say it was like they broke their computer, or someone real closed to them died, or they were in an accident. A good reason, then can they be given their position back? Kitty(Dance with me!) 10:04, March 10, 2012 (UTC)
Yea, definitely kitty, honestly though in the last year, very few people in those situations were not able to give some kinda of heads up. At the point that a user has given a heads up, after that I usually go case by case depending on how long they thought they'd be gone, versus how long they have actually been gone, etc. etc. etc. But again, as far as being marked inactive, that policy isn't changing and has always been around. Admins, rbs and bcrats are 10 days without any prior notice, anyone with counsellor positions 14 days, and if a user is still inactive with no prior notice at 25 days their character's get taken and/or deleted. That has always been and isn't changing by this current vote. This vote is trying to take care of the user's (some reg's users) who as I stated above, come on once every 21 days or so, make one edit and disappear again. However, once a user has stated they will be less active, it takes a lot longer than that to get marked totally inactive.
