Revision as of 12:44, 26 April 2015
With the voting closed on the repeal of the ban against Stygian Iron, there is still the question of how to introduce it to the wiki, and which demigod children will be able to use it, especially as some gods have chthonian (Underworld) aspects, who for the purposes of simplicity have been treated like any other god. I have compiled a proposed list of gods to class as underworld gods, and thus can use stygian iron. Gods with minor chthonian aspects or who are personifications (Nemesis, Eris etc) have been omitted for simplicity. Information has been taken from theoi. If approved, users with characters borne from these gods would have the right to use stygian iron. As agreed, stygian iron would serve no purpose except for cosmetic reasons. Then, we can work out how to implement this in a final proposal
The list is as follows:
-Acheron
-Cronus (Kronos)
-Erebus
-Hades
-Hecate
-Hypnos
-Lethe
-Melinoe
-Nyx
-Persephone
-Phlegethon
-Styx
-Tartarus
-Thanatos

Would it at least work against monsters like CB dow?

For all intents and purposes, Stygian Iron functions exactly the same as CB. It's merely a cosmetic/in character difference.

Wait...what about children of Moros? if there are any?
"You don't have to 8e a good person to 8e a hero. So I'll just 8e me. " —Yorkie
They won't be counted. Yes, Moros is a son of Nyx but that doesn't make him an underworld god. If we went by that rule, then gods such as Nike (daughter of Styx) could technically be counted as underworld gods. He's also more of a personification of doom, than an actual underworld god, so he wouldn't be counted for simplicity's sake.
I used the list of underworld gods on Theoi to help me, and then removed the gods with minor underworld aspects (ie: Hermes) whom I felt would have confused new users on the wiki.
