This is my first power set, so please be patient and tell me if you think something should be changed. Sorry for so much ivy ;)
Thalia was one of the nine Muses, and was named Muse of comedy and bucolic poetry. She's depicted with a comic mask, shepherd's staff and wreath of ivy.

Powers[]
Offensive[]
- Children of Thalia can make a single opponent around them burst into uncontrollable laughter for a short time, making them vulnerable to attacks.
- Children of Thalia can make someone feel like all their happiness and all the things that make them happy were taken from them. This causes most oppponents to have a hard time fighting, but they might be able to overcome it.
Defensive[]
- Children of Thalia are able to create a wall of ivy around them, stopping opponents from attacking them, but also trapping them inside. This only lasts for a short time.
- Children of Thalia can make ivy grow around an opponent’s legs, making them unable to move for a short time. However, when trapped like this, they can’t be attacked.
Passive[]
- Children of Thalia radiate an aura of laughter around them. They can shut this off for a long time, if they wish.
- Children of Thalia feel slightly empowered whenever someone around them is laughing. This does not include those who laugh because of being under control of the child of Thalia’s powers.
- Children of Thalia see the funniest memories of people around them. This can be shut off for a long time.
- Children of Thalia usually make people forget their problems for a very short time when they talk to them.
Supplementary[]
- Children of Thalia can also make ivy grow around and cover a particular object.
- Children of Thalia can start poetically describing something around them, which makes everyone nearby focus on the described thing for a short time, making them confused and vulnerable to attacks.
- Children of Thalia are able to make another person recall a funny memory, making them slightly stronger and faster than usual. This only lasts for a short time.
- Children of Thalia can teleport via ivy: from a place where it grows to another place where it grows. The further the distance, the more energy drained. They are able to take others and objects with them, but again, the more people and the bigger objects summoned, the more energy drained.
3 Months After Character is Made[]
- Children of Thalia can summon and command up to ten carnivore sheep, as their mother was depicted with a shepherd's staff. These will attempt to eat whoever the child of Thalia commands them to. The more sheep summoned, the more energy drained.
6 Months After Character is Made[]
- Children of Thalia can summon a shepherd's staff (like the one their mother was depicted with). Any object or person that touches it is tied up with ivy (more durable than the normal plant) for a short time (this can help the user get others' weapons for themselves). This staff disappears after a short time, and when it does, the user feels remarkably drained.
9 Months After Character is Made[]
- Children of Thalia can turn all opponents opponents in a 10 m radius into carnivore sheep. This lasts for a short period of time. When in this state, the opponents still behave as they normally would. They won't listen to the child of Thalia however. If they're killed while in this state, they change back to normal, but are remarkably drained. After transforming opponents, the user is very drained and could possibly even faint.
Traits[]
- Children of Thalia usually love to joke and make good comedians.

Okay so coming from the guy who's honestly made more powersets than I can remember, you didn't do a terrible job. But there are a few issues. the ivy creation power shouldn't really drain much since it's main use would be setting up ivy points for the teleportation. I get why you wanted the 9 month but it's OP considering how easy it'd be kill a goddamn sheep. the 3 month is kinda weak in a 1v1 situation since it would just make the person laugh, it isn't really practical. Hydrocarbon1997 (talk) 05:44, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the remarks, I tried to fix the issues you pointed out. Please tell me what you think about the 9 month now, it's hard to fix. And yeah, the 3 month is rather useful on real battlefields, not in 1v1.
Dirael (talk) 20:12, November 25, 2017 (UTC)
I respect that you're thinking outside of the box here, but from I can tell most fighting has typically been 1v1 and when you have a bunch of powers that aren't useful in that scenario, it leaves them underpowered. I'd say make the 9 month last for a few moments, cuz rn thalia kids can just walk in and turn someone into a sheep for the entire fight. I'm fine with them being vulnerable, but they should have their own minds and still be able to run away if turned into sheep imo. Hydrocarbon1997 (talk) 03:55, November 26, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks very much, I changed the 9 month so it should be ok now. Also, there's a new 3 month now as the old one wasn't really useful or fixable. Everything should be acceptable now. Dirael (talk) 11:44, November 26, 2017 (UTC)
I find it better to say that a "short period of time" instead of 10 minutes for the 9 month. 3 month needs work but it's not a terrible idea. maybe say something like "they have a hard time fighting but can overcome it." and say it lasts for a "moderate time." Just trying to make the 3 month a lil different from your basic "makes them vulnerable" offensive power.
Phew. Thanks, you were a great help, now it does sound better. Thanks again! ^-^

This is not a very bad power set you have here, but it feels like it needs a little work before it's something to revere. Here's my personal suggestions to the topic :)
- The power distribution that apparently is common nowadays, is the 2/2/4/4, or 2 offensive, 2 defensive, 4 passive, and 4 supplementary. The set only has two passives though, and while passives aren't super important, it's better to keep with the distribution to avoid having underpowered sets, which can end up in rewrites and whatnot.
- The current six month is rather underwhelming and actually puts the set behind other sets with similar powers. The closest example there is, is the Persephone set in spring/summer. Perhaps consider kicking the 6 month down to a supplementary/combine it with Supplementary 1.
- The nine month sounds contradictory; it says up to five, yet later on, it suggests that more than five can be changed. It might be better to drop the last bit to just avoid that.
I knew it when I met him,I loved him when I left him ~Sophie
So I don't know jack about powersets but I figured oh well. I'm not a fan of the immense ivy-related powers in here.
- The 2nd supplementary, while absolutely entertaining, would not... actually do anything in battle, unless the sheep they happen to summon are special war-bred mini monsters that look like sheep (remember the carnivorous sheep on Polyphemus' island?) or the opponents really, really suck or are easily distracted like BOOM HELLO SHEEP.
- My suggestions are: 1. carnivorous/unique sheep (that are reminiscent of all the mini monster summoning powers already on wiki) that can dent armor or give people a proper shove (have you ever tried fighting while a herd of sheep is deadset on tripping you) while being as killable as any sheep, and 2. instead of summoning actual sheep, they can make large groups of people "sheep-like" for some time minus whoever they name the "leader." Whatever the leader does, the group will have to resist the strong urge to follow them. This includes both action and speech. This would also sort of apply to Thalia's power over comedy, since it's pretty much proven that laughter is infectious and most people tend to be sheeplike regarding it. Minus the super surly grumpy ones, but that's going off tangent.
- I think you should buff the 6 month but don't take my word for it because I have a habit of making things OP lol a little bit more. What if weapons in particular were especially bushwhacked by the ivy, as in the ivy would cocoon weapons upon contact? (AKA ANTI-MELEE AND ANTI-RANGED)
⌜ Look at your heart, and not at what the world wants. ⌟
I don't mean to be mean but the 9th is OP. Ik you thought about these things but they aren't perfect. One. The 9th being capable of turning people into sheep has to go, idk why anyone other than hydro hasn't seen that even if a short time, sheep can be killed or knocked out by demigods in a few seconds and that's without powers so it wouldn't be fair. Two, the 3rd I'm not completely sure about some demigods can fight through a removal of happiness, some can just focus on anger or survival to just break through it. It's a fight, happiness isn't needed or focused on and shouldn't have an effect if it's removed. The second offensive is also a problem, a mask with no eye holes for two minutes would guarantee someone losing. I mean you could try something with the poetry like Thalia kids speak poetically or something to greatly confuse their opponents?Ps. Next time you do a set, focus on the scope of the god and not what they are depicted with so much. Zeus could be depicted with a clock but that doesn't give him power over time. PPs the 2/2/4/4 distribution isn't necessary to abide by. It's just kind of a guide to go buy. You can have a set with 2 offensives 4 defensive 2 passive and 3 supplementary. Just don't go overboard with one type and don't neglect the othersyo big-ass booty is ghon always be mah Guardian. 00:34, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions, y'all! I really appreciate it. Please tell me if the 9 month is ok now coz it's really hard to make up a completely new one here. I had to go with this. Well, maybe carnivore sheep are easier to fight than some other monsters... You obey all the rules, you miss all the fun <3 Dirael 17:24, December 19, 2017 (UTC)
9th still cant be something that turns them into a defenseless creature.
I wouldn't say aggressive carnivore sheep are defenseless.

Right, I agree with what Harley said. Thalia is the goddess muse of comedy and poetry. I don't know what the staff was for, but I think that the ivy was kinda like her sacred plant. (Because like, all the gods had one for some reason)
Ayyy Imma jump in to this discussion. I was originally really hesistant, because I didn't want to crush hopes and dreams @.@ but Sean's broken the ice with all the points I would've made, so meh. I did a lot of thinking about the 9th, and no amount of powering up the sheep will fix it. There's just no getting around the fact that being suddenly transformed into a four-legged farm animal is a death sentence in the middle of a fight with a demigod. So... don't make it a death sentence. The only way I can see this staying without being OP is to just make it so that if an opponent is killed while transformed, they turn back and are left very exhausted. It would give the opponents a slim chance of holding out against it, while also not being a literal death sentence if they don't.
That said, I would also definitely give it the typical drain of a 9-month power. Since nine times out of ten the Thalia kid will be able to nigh-instakill at least one sheep, and doing so would mostly decommission that one enemy, it can't be something done lightly where the drain is based off of number of targets. That'd make sense for something like the Cocytus or Atlas 9-months, for example, since those are AoE effects that aren't exactly fight-enders. But since the sheep thing will all but guarantee a victory 1v1, it needs to be balanced around that fact. I'd say just make it affect all enemies within a certain radius (30 feet?) and give it the usual heavily-drained-potentially-unconscious side effect. Alright, many thanks! This sounds better and better. If anyone has more remarks, please tell.
