Hello everyone!
As well all know, the Champions of Othrys event has been ongoing since 2015. It was created as a way to encourage activity and became a tool of sorts to keep activity up during dry spells of activity. However, it is appreciated that, for the wiki, it might have become laborious and cumbersome for the average user.
Subsequently, R&D has made the decision to prematurely end the event in hopes that we can offer more contests, events and the like as a department not concerned with such a mammoth task like the Champions of Othrys. Naturally this leaves a lot of unanswered questions on the outcome of certain missions. Below, preceding the main focus of this vote, are the outcomes. Any future votes will be marked as such and will be opened by a member of R&D in the future.
- Whilst the CoO was successful in capturing Akela at Hephaestus’ Workshop, they lost their hold on her by being jumped by the Campers Team on the way back to The Spire. In hopes of being able to protect the fire to her fullest ability, Akela sacrificed herself to serve as a fire nymph attendant on Olympus.
- The Nearby Town did succumb to the attack by the CoO. A large majority of it was left destroyed with only ruins remaining. Camp Half-Blood poured all its efforts into the defence and managed to force the CoO away with little casualties and damage to Camp itself thanks to the warship that had been brought in prior. - The CoO was successful in assassinating Heinrich. The Broken Covenant has been left considerably weakened following the flight of many members. The fate of his Lieutenants, bar Lacy who perished, are unknown. [ vote will be coming! ]
Now comes the main focus of this vote. As many of you are aware, the fate of the Champions of Othrys was always going to be in the hands of you, the user base. Whilst the Champions were created for the purpose of the event alone, the admin team can appreciate the interest in them and the normality of them being on the wiki for three years.
The three options for the fate of the Champions of Othrys are as follows;
Option One
The Champions of Othrys are disbanded. In OOC terms, any user with a Champion must mark them as ‘left’ and remove them from any lists (i.e. the Model Registration and the User/Char Forums). IC, it will be explained that the Champions, weakened by Camp’s resistance, failed to hold off a series of attacks laid down by the Gods and a few attacks from Camp itself. With only a few members left, a large majority dead, they disband.
Option Two
The Champions of Othrys remain as they are. OOC, they would still be conjoined to the BC spots and claiming process wouldn’t change. The approved list of parents would be disregarded and any titan parent would thus be able to be used. The Council members wouldn’t change until a character is marked as inactive and, in which case, users can apply for the position. Dependent on the number of applicants, there would be a battle competition amongst them to determine who would be the best new council member - IC explained by that character being the remaining Council men’s ‘vote.’ For this, imagine the setup of counsellor challenges with two characters duelling and the judges - in this case the remaining Councilmen - voting.
Option Three
The Champions of Othrys would remain as they are, save with a small revamp done by R&D to include new positions of powers Ideally, nobody can reserve said positions and it will be on a first come first serve basis. Though it’d be ideal that existing characters go for these positions, there can be some leniency on creating a character. However, there would be a strict time frame to make said character as to not have someone hoard a spot someone else could have. Like Option Two, the Council members wouldn’t change unless someone rids of their character, in which the battling would take place. As before, the restrictions on titan parents would go and any titan parent can be used. The CoO spots would remain conjoined with the BC’s and the claiming system would remain the same.
